West gate Resort in Orlando is based on timeshare sales. We went there on an offer and was told we would have to sit through a "presentation." The presentation started at 0730 am and the high pressure sales continued through to noon. Four and a half hours of the salesman pushing the sell. He started by telling us ...no pressure, just a presentation. He would not come up for air, and after we told him no thank you, he brought another person to make us another offer, then a third person after we again declined.

When it was all over we were told we were not welcome to return to West gate. WHAT????? Who wants to return? The accommodations were not anything spectacular. We told him we just invested in property and could not afford anything else. What a waste of time.

The whole resort was full of people coming on the presentation. There was a large hall size room with well over 100 sales reps pushing the place down peoples throat. I have been to timeshare presentations in the past and they last an average of an hour and half. I have even purchased. This was one a friend had purchased and I went along with. Never again!!!!!!!

Timeshare industry is well known for being very vulnerable to scams; consequently, vacationers and timeshare owners should be aware of timeshare investments, phony offers to rent or resell timeshares or practically anything that sounds too good to be true. http://www.timesharescam.com/

They are switching their scam from "time share" to vacation club wherein they get money up front for discount travel and, if you pay $500 you can get what they call a suite in a few places  throughout the country.  The suite turns out to be a dump, if you can even get it, and the discounts are no more of a discount than anyone can get from Travelocity, etc.  In addition to the $4000 or  over you pay to become a member, they charge the $500 for the "suite?" and $199 a year if you want to use any of the services.  The reps high pressure you into purchasing and then lie to you about payments and interest.  Anyone who buys into this stands a chance of paying at least $4000 for nothing more than to help support Siegel and  his trophy wife.

First of all, there is NO entity of Westgate Resorts.  This is not listed as a corporation.  No business certificate under this name in their local courthouse.  They use four to five different addresses to scam you.  Their collection company International Collection Agency, LLC is in house. If you send a letter to the address on the collection notice, POB 692715, Orlando 32869 it if forwarded to their corporate offices.
We had a time share in my wife's name.  They would call and my wife would give them permission to talk with me - twice "I am not talking to you!"  I guess they think they can scam a woman.
My email it brucetreiter@hotmail.com.  I have addresses to all and can tell you what to do.  This my name.  I do not hide.
Do NOT NOT pay these fools.
We where down there once and got hooked into an upgrade listen to me.  I kept telling them no.  They kept lowering the price.  I finally said "what part of no don't you understand.  It is only two letters!" and took my wife and walked out.

Bruce, thanks for your support, is comforting to find some with firm conviction, we should all get together with this issue and make either Florida or the Federal Legislature to correctly control this industry.  They both, Westgate and Marriott, have destroy this industry.  Anyway, I am currently running though the same thing, so much threatening with suing and destroying my credit, I do not care, I will not pay a cent to this fools, if you have any idea how to deal with this fools please let me know.  I will email you shortly.

Can westgate sue you if you don't pay? My husband just received his first "collection letter" from them yesterday in the mail and on there is says failure to pay in 45 days could result in legal action. We are not sure if this is just a scare tactic or they can really file a lawsuit against him. If anyone has had this and knows how far westgate will go please let me know.

    Thanks

what is the success of getting out of Westgate timeshare after their fire.  we stop paying our HOA fees and monthly mortgage to them they call maybe 5 times a day on all phones, we have finally stopped answering as no one is there.  We offered to sign the deed back to them.  They should pay us for our loss with the insurance they received to rebuild, but we know they wont.  don't want to go to another state or country to use our timeshare we bought in gatlinburg TN.  Anyone know if just stop paying them will work????
