If they want to ask so many personal information they have to give personal info about them so we don't have to fall into a trap;..

    You are correct.

NEVER give any identification information to any caller, no matter who they claim they are.  Scammers are not so dumb that they don't know how to create a "good reason" for you to play into their game.

If you are a BofA customer, call BofA directly via a phone number from your statement or credit card.
If there is some problem, like a suspicious charge showing up on a credit card, you will be able to handle it by calling a regular number from a trusted source like your statement or credit card.

Be aware that many large banks, including BofA, have been caught selling their customer information to shady telemarketers who in turn have been caught engaging in fraudulent telemarketing of various "insurance products" to their customers.

These fraudulent telemarketers may call, claiming they are "with Bank of America" (or whoever your bank is), and try to make some sort of offer while also attempting to obtain a recording of you disclosing identification information like digits of your account number or your DOB that they can claim "verifies" that you "agreed" to some product they then fraudulently sign you up for.  They might only get you to say "yes" to "getting an information packet" (which sounds innocent enough), and then start charging your account monthly.  Since they already have information on your account, they can set up these charges for some "product" you don't even want, with no extra information from you, and all they need is some little bit of identification to hide behind in their claim.

Here is what this type of "preacquired account information negative option marketing" fraud looks like.

If you are dealing with unauthorized and fraudulent charges of this sort, there are attorneys who take these cases.  For example:
