Also, immediately file a fraud dispute with your bank.

Your bank can reverse charges if you dispute within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge, so they may be able to reverse the last 2 months.  you are disputing under FCBA for credit cards, or FRB Reg. E for checking account EFT such as debit card or ACH charges.

I discovered on 9/10/2010 that I was charged 3 payments of 29.95 plus 3.00 convenience fee for something that I did not have knowledge of nor did I give this company MVQ permission to deduct from my checking account. I am a single mother and can't afford to be throwing money away on stupid stuff especially in this economy. I am demanding a refund. If anyone mentions this company (MVQ) do not listen it is a scam!!!!!!!!

I just discovered a monthly charge of $29.95 from Privacy Matters on my credit card statement. I've never heard of this company. I usually check my credit card statements pretty carefully every month but somehow this got by me. I checked back and discovered I've been charged $29.95 every month for the past five months!! I just contacted my credit card company and they are sending me paperwork to contest these payments. I also called Privacy Matters and was on hold for more than 20 minutes. However the automated system requested my account number which is referenced on my credit card statement (along with the tollfree number). The system prompted me if I wished to cancel my service. Frankly I was not even certain what service I was getting. All I knew is that I had not knowingly signed up for it, whatever it was. I pressed the buttons to signify I wanted to cancel my account and the system informed me that I had successfully cancelled. When I called back to actually talk with a human and punched in my account number I was informed that my account was, in fact, cancelled. So that is a step in the right direction. But I still want to contest these five months of charges. Since I have a balance due on my credit card I'm hopeful my credit card company may forgive these charges. But Privacy Matters are snakes.

I have been trying to cancel them for months. I've been charged $49  for months. Capital one is generally good at these things but they had no luck with them! My final answer has been to report the card lost and then never activate the new card. I still don't know what they do. I know its a scam big time

Rec'd my credit card monthly statement for Nov 10, via US Mail.  On this statement, appeared 4 seperate charges totalling $36.00.  The charges listed were:  MY ONLINE GUIDE LLC, 1- 866-5496218 UT FOR A TOTAL OF $1.87.,
MVQ* YOURSAVINGSCLUB 1-888-239-3917 CT for a total of $2.00.,  MVQ*PRIVACY
    MATTERS123 1-888-239=0316 CT., MVQ*PRIVACYMATTERS123 1=888-239-0316 CT, for
a total of $29.95.  THE LATTER NUMBER, sentence aforementioned is the number called to ascertain who authorized these purchases.  The lst person at this phone number gave her name as "Betty" who shortly handed me off to
a a husky voiced person (sounded like a guy's voice said her name was Gloria) who refused to give any information, as to who MVQ is, I was given the run-around.  On 29 Nov 10, I shall take my complaint to my Bank, and consult with my Attorney.  Class Action law suit looming??  Could be.

Saw a $1.00 Interday charge on my online account last week.  Pulled it up today and had another $2.00 charge and a third for $19.95.  Shredded some mail last week that I thought was junk mail and it turns out those papers were my membership information from MVQ* YOURSAVINGSCLUB 1-888-239-3917 CT & MVQ*PRIVACYMATTERS123 1=888-239-0316 CT.  Two SCAMMERS that I never provided information to nor ever heard of until this.  Just got off the phone after being assured that I would receive a "full" refund within 3 business days.  TOTAL SCAMMERS stealing credit / debit numbers then pissing on my head and trying to tell me it is raining.

I received a call from my bank a few days ago, asking me if I had any knowledge of a MQV PRIVACYMATTERS123. They informed that this company was making charges on my account via my credit card. I told them I had never heard of the company and did not authorize them to make any debits on my account. I have absolutely no idea how they obtained my card information. I've never visited their website or had any contact with them whatsoever. Thank God, my bank was on the ball and caught it from the start. Perhaps the banks and card services are getting wise to these folks and are staring to flag them whenever their name shows up on someone's account. I can't under how MVQ PRIVACYMATTERS123 is still in business.... they need to be shut down!

My experience with them has been the same. My capital one credit card is generally good at scams, but not this one.  I was on the phone with cap one and privacy matters. The guy had a middle European accent the whole outfit is a scam. Eventually I just froze that card and will never unlock it thankfully it was on my credit card and not bank account I never buy with my debit card. I would like to find a way to hurt them.

I never agreed to these charges either and the first time I saw this charge I called to have it cancelled immediately.  Two and a half years later I'm still getting charged monthly.  After calling this line I was offered two months refunded, which is ridiculous.  This is almost $1,000 they owe me and they're offering me less than $100 to what I never agreed to.  The reason this company claims I was still being charged was because I opened two accounts with them, which is a total lie.  Now I'm going to the Better Business Bureau and will push to take them to a small claims court.  This needs to be shut down immediately.  It's a way for Bank of America to hide additional credit card charges and blame it on another third party company putting everything out of their control.  Bank of America sucks.

What a scam! I noticed this privacymatters charge of 23.95 on my credit card that my dad is in charge of, so I figured he signed me up for something. Then he asked me about it, thinking I was online shopping. I googled them and their website is down...at least the section to cancel doesn't work. What a bunch of scam artists, I don't understand how people don't feel guilty for STEALING money from hundreds of people!!

They got me too-----for 2 charges of $19.95---and I'm royally P.O.'d!!!   This has happened before and the Credit Card banks KNOW about this fraud.  They should take steps to ensure that proper authorization has been received before approving ANY charge!!!   They've done that before with "questionable charges".  I'll go along with a class action suit!
