Dealer Services called me. The man said that I had signed up for a warranty on my used car through the used car dealership I bought it from. He said that my free coverage was up and that I owed 2,400 dollars. He said that the cancellation fee was 2,400 dollars as well so I was basically screwed. The papers, he said, had been signed at the used car dealership. He led me to believe that the dealership conned me into signing papers, but I was responsible for the amount anyway. I had minutes to fork over a $700 deposit or the company would ruin my credit. I became hysterical and started crying. He then said he could lower the amount to $400. Stupidly, I gave my debit card number to spare my credit score (my husband and I are trying to buy a house).

As I waited for the varification call, I told my husband what was happening. He called the used car dealership and found the papers for the car. We had never signed a thing about a warranty. The people from the dealership said we were being scammed. We immediately called our bank and cancelled our debit card. When a new representitive called back to verify our payment to Dealer Services, we told her we knew exactly what was going on. She hatefully exclaimed, "I don't appreciate you calling our company a scam!" Anyway, she said that I had never signed anything and that the other guy I had spoken with said that I had just wanted to take advantage of their "wonderful offer." Anyway, I was under no obligation so they cancelled my payment.

These people are using immoral sales tactics and I am going to report them to every agency I can. I am a college educated woman and I fell for this! I feel so stupid, not to mention violated and ashamed.

My wife got a call from a guy named john edgars. He told her our warranty was going to expired when in actuality it is not going to expire until 2013. He demanded she give him a credit card or else we'd be screwed forever. I called back and he wasn't in. I talked to a guy named who said his name was "moses". He said they "underwrite" all the warrantys for nissan. Its all crap. I traced the number back to dealer services in ocean new jersey, who's owner is mike shaftel. These guys said they were calling from the california corporate office. Its located at 10000 canoga ave in chatsworth ca., and these guys "moses" (I wonder if that's a real name) and john edgars, work there for steve cohen, who is some kind of telemarketing creep. I will get to the bottom of these people.

We live in Colorado and we also got scammed.  We payed for the warranty and when we tryed to use it they claim there was a discrepency with the information on the warranty so we are not covered.  They say it was our responsibility to find the typo and since we did not find it with in 30 days the contract is no longer valid.  The people we dealt with were obviously in on the scam with the way they treated us.  Anyone who has had issue with this company please do all you can to discredit them. The owner is Michael Shaftel, who also happens to be on the BBB of New Jersey.  I am planning on cntacting as many organinzations as possible who may be able to shut this company down.  Maybe some of us can get some of our money returned

I am also a victim of this company; I filed a claim with them and they had another outfit called America Auto Shield handle the claim that deployed stall tactics to process my claim for a month; then America Auto Shield told me that they're nolonger handling the claim and referred me back to NCWC DEALER Service to check on my installment payment. When they discovered that I pay in advance with direct deduction and never missed a payment, they demanded that I finish paying my warranty policy before processing my claim. When I question them why? they told me because its a large claim. I told them that's why I brought the warranty, they have no answer..I did complaint to the BBB of NJ but seeing if this guy Shaftel is on the board, then the next question would be "how he get there"? by appointment of what authority? if he's appointed by some legal authority in NJ, then I'll persude it with the guy that appointed him and above. Also, I research the F.B.I. site and complaints could also be file with them. Since they sent me a copy of the "Suppose coverage plan" through my email, it may be internet crime and that falls under the FBI jurisdiction. If enough people complain about them at a Federal level, they have to take notice. I lived in New York so I have also contacted local media about them; hopefully, one of those TV station will set up a "sting" and caught these scammers on national TV.

I work for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).  If you are having a problem with this company please complain to your local insurance department as well as to NJ consumer affairs and NJ insurance department.  To sell a vehicle service contract the company needs to be licensed and this company is not licensed.  Your complaints can get them shut down fast.

For assistance filing a complaint call the Consumer Service Center at (973) 504-6200.

My wife purchased the extended warranty plan. She has only paid the deposit can this policy be cancelled without affecting her credit. There has been no other payments to this company. She was under the impression it was a reputable company. However, she has since learned it is a deceptive company.I have contacted the Better Business Bureau of New York to report their deceptive business tactics. Nevertheless, I am hoping she does not have to follow through with payments to avoid destroying her credit?

Everyone is correct. it is a sham, they prey on elderly people everyday. somestimes saying offensive curse words to them if they dont buy into their [***]. its a shame to say i worked for them =/, but i never knew exactly what i was trying to sell, i never worked for a ext warrenty company in my life until then... they have u read a script saying what they wanna hear u say in order to get money from people, sometimes the people it was calling wouldnt be correct, the vehicle info wasnt correct n it was a craps shoot inorder to get the right vehicle. the one is cali is owned by sumone else , they just sell the dealers services contracts. when u ask to be put on the so called " Do Not Call List" it just recycles your name n number into the system n someone else will call you to try and sell something.

im so sorry if anyone bought one. they were right "the less you know bout car warrenties the better off you are" the more u know u feel like [***] once u find out... they just hire quick n u start right away.

to everyone im sry for the aggravation it has caused you, and pain, im honestly n truthfully sorry.
the economy is slow right now n i needed a job in order to support me and my family.

and harry did u get a coupon book or u did it thru credit?

This company is clearly a scam.  I've received calls from them, and today, a one-page letter with my car's make, model and VIN.  People must wise-up and spot these phonies.  The letter, while having my car info, appeared to be an enrollment form, but only response was by phone.  There was no real return address, and other than the 4-letter acronym on the letter (disguised to look like something from the IRS), in tiny italic print I found it was "Dealer Services/Royal ..." I'd heard the name before, and couldn't believe they were still scamming.  How this guy is on the BBB in his area, and not locked-up in prison, is what I'd like to know.  Use common sense: NEVER BUY ANYTHING OVER THE PHONE! NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM DOOR-DOOR SALESMEN (besides girl scout cookies), ESPECIALLY TREE-TRIMMING, DRIVEWAY SEALING, OTHER "CONVENIENT HOME SERVICES."  Same goes for US Mail.  YOU select what you want to buy and from whom, and then check their references and complaints on the internet.  Better yet, trust your friends.  When someone calls saying they're conducting a "Public opinion poll" or acting like they're the Police (i.e. Fraternal Order of Police - lots of scammers pretend to be them, and they love to scare you by saying they're "Officer so-and-so" from your local neighborhood.  They usually have your name, too.  As soon as you realize someone is trying to sell you something, or if it's just someone you don't know, HANG UP!  Don't talk or argue with them.  A quick "No Thanks" if you must, BUT, HANG UP!  These telemarketers are like dangerous venemous snakes.  If they call back, don't answer.  I ticked one guy off, and he called me every day for months from an internet IP phone, so there was no way to trace him (within reason).  Be safe people.  If you get scammed, call the police, FBI, your bank, CC, fill-out a report on every website: Local BBB, Angie's List (just pay for it!), Yahoo, Yelp, YP, epinions.com, here.  To survive the digital age, you need to be smart and do your homework, and help humanity by sharing.

I was also tricked byJohn Marshall Ford in Mayfield, Ohio their sellman Otis Dotson tricked me , he told me all he wanted to do was to see my credit score , I said do not run my credit , he said i won't , because he knew I was recieving my credit letter from my credit union and I had told him that, but because the car they was selling was 13,000, dollars more he was mad , but why take it out on me, my credit union would not okay it because it was over blue book value, so he ran my credit report because I called him and told him  i found a truck 13,000 dollars cheaper, so they tried to mess up my credit score and i will fight it all the way.I f you feel you been mistreated fight for your rights.

I contacted Dealer Services on September 18, to cancel my extended warranty 2012 after purchasing a new vehicle. I was told that they could not cancel the warranty until they
receive a written  request for cancellation. I asked why since when I purchased the warranty it became effective immediately. Anyway, I mailed the request letter certified return receipt. They date of delivery was September 24, 2012. Once I received the return receipt card, I called to enquire when to expect my refund and the amount. One individual said in 14 days, and another individual said in 30 days and that she would call and let me know the amount. Well, someone did call back and told me to expect a check in the amount of $400. On November 10, 2012, I received a brief note from DEALER SERVICES informing me that they credited my credit card in the amount of $355.54. They also indicated that they received my cancellation notice on October 24, 2012 at 10:34 am, exactly one month after the signed for said correspondence. By the way, the credit card they said the credited has been canceled for more than a year. However, I decided to call the bank. I was told there is no record of the $355.54. So what do I do?  I decided to goggle DEALER SERVICES to see what others had to say. It was not encouraging at all. I don’t think they are not worthy of my trust or my business. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

I stand to be corrected. I spoke to a customer service representative who cleared up the problem. Now I must wait to see what the bank will do in terms of the funds that was credited to the credit card.
