I received a notice from CarSafe that looked like an official notice of Toyota Extended Warranty coverage expiration and believed that it was real. The notice said "Extremely URgent and Time Sensative, Service Contract Expiration - This is not a bill, Expiration: 28 Feb 2010. Service Contract Explanation - Extensions Available to 2015. This letter is to inform you that your factory service contract has expired or is about to expire and you may extend your service contract coverage on the vehicle." It only states in small print towards the bottom of the letter that my extended service contract coverage offer expires Feb 28, 2010, which was misleading, because it appeared to be from the existing warranty provider, which is Toyota. It was by chance my Toyota Repair Manager called & happen to tell me that my warranty was good till Oct 2010. I'm requesting a void of the contract & full reimbursement of coverage, which doesn't start until 30days from 2/23/10. Let's see if they actually send me the money back. How many of us were scammed by this misleading notice. Shame on CarSafe!

CAR Safe Is a great company I currently have 2 policies and have had no issues or complaints on having repairs completed. I know the way they do business is professional and upfront. Do not be so fast to group Car Safe in with all the things you read and hear on the Internet. 20 BBB complaints on a company that sells 18,000 contracts a year? Looks to me like they answered and handled all the fickle people out there, funny thing is 90% of people who complain and gripe were never customers. Thanks for the peace of mind Car Safe

I just finished talking to three different representives from CarSafe.  I thought everything was lagitament until the one guy would not let me get off of the phone.  I told him that I needed to consult with my wife and I would call him back latter.  He asked me why was I trying to make him get off, no he said why are you trying to push me off of the phone?  I immeadiately hung on him and checked them out on line.  Thank GOD I did not give them my credit card information.

Everything sounded good to me too and they also acted like I was an idiot for considering consulting my husband.  I wish I had been as perceptive as you and had hung up the phone.  I usually can smell a scheme a mile away but I have to admit these guys got me.  Fortunately, they only got me for about two hours.  My debit card has been cancelled, I am cancelling the "Policy" tomorrow and I will file a dispute with my bank if I have to to get my the downpayment returned.  I will listen to my gut instinct better next time.

I received the Carsafe extended warranty notification. I knew it was a scam because my warranty is with my credit union...watch those scams.

I was told if I didn't decide right then and there on the  phone and I later called back I would have to pay to have the car inspected before they could issue a warranty. Then, he said, CarSafe has no standard inspection form for the mechanic.  I said what if I paid $25 to the inspector to overlook defects; how would they know?  He said that was fraud and all business is based on trust.

I just spoke to  a presentative at Car Safe. I asked for information about their program and they proceeded to do a hard sell, I could not get them to stop talking. When I put the brakes on the guy and told him I only called for information  he said I seemed hostile and angry and aked if I would satisfifed if  I spoke with the local Car dealership and they vouched for CarSafe. I said," no", I would do my own research and get back to them. He became flip and irriated.
It is amazing how dangerous and miss leading these businesses can be. Their letter/postcard is very deceptive. I initially thought it was from the Chrylser Corporation. I deeply appreciate what each person wrote in this Complaint Wire . I will take one writer's advise and I will keep my money and pay cash for repairs that may happen. My closing thoughts CarSafe is not Safe. Don't give them your money or time. Thanks  to everyone.

I RECEIVED A "SECOND NOTICE" CAR SAFE EXTENDED WARRANTY LETTER IN TODAYS
MAIL.(JUNE 19,2011)I CALLED THE NUMBER JUST TO ASK FOR INFORMATION.
WELL, THE PERSON PERSON I SPOKE TO, STARTED CLOSING BEFORE I EVEN ASKED MY FIRST QUESTION.
I TOLD HER I OWNED A 2008 SATURN SKY CONVERTIBLE, AND IT HAD ONLY 10,300 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. SHE QUESTIONED WHY SUCH LOW MILEAGE? I EXPLAINED TO HER I ALSO OWNED TWO OTHER CARS AS WELL AS A HARLEY-DAVIDSON. SHE THEN ASKED ME WHAT CREDIT CARD I WANTED TO USE TO SIGN UP FOR THE EXTENDED COVERAGE.
I REPLIED, "SLOW DOWN LADY, I HAVEN'T SAID I WANTED YOUR COVERAGE YET." I THEN STATED I DON''T MAKE ANY DECISION WITHOUT CHECKING WITH MY WIFE FIRST." SHE THEN STATED, "WELL, PUT HER ON THE PHONE!" I LIED AND SAID SHE WAS OUT SHOPING. SHE THEN HAD THE BALLS TO ASK IF MY WIFE HAD A CELL PHONE AND COULD I CALL HER SO WE COULD GET A THREE WAY CONVERSATION GOING.
IT WAS AT THIS POINT I KNEW I WAS DEALING WITH A SCAM COMPANY.
THEN SHE WENT ONE STEP FURTHER, STATING " I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU NEED YOUR WIFES PERMISSION TO JOIN OUR EXTENDED COVERAGE PLAN." THAT WAS A VERY BAD
    MISTAKE ON HER PART.
BECAUSE NOW SHE BROUGHT OUT THE BAD GUY BIKER IN ME, AND BELIEVE ME I CAN
BE A VERY BAD BIKER WHEN I NEED TO BE. I AM ON 6 MONTHS PROBATION RIGHT NOW FOR BEATING A GUY SILLY DURING OUR BIKE WEEK CELEBRATION IN MARCH.
US "OULAWS" DON'T f**K AROUND, PISS ME OFF AND YOU WILL NEED AN AMBULANCE
TO LEAVE THE SCENE, I CAN GUARANTEE THAT!
I MADE SURE SHE WAS SORRY FOR SAYING SUCH A STUPID ASS REMARK. US OUTLAWS
HAVE CHAPTERS IN EVERY STATE IN THE U.S., EUROPE AND ASIA AS WELL.
IF THEY ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO CONTACT ME AGAIN, IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE THEY WILL HAVE EVER MADE.WE HAVE A NUMBER OF CHAPTERS IN MISSOURI.
BE SMART, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS RIP OFF COMPANY.

I just received this letter. I read the first comment and agree. This is a scam! I did not even call or visit the website. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

depends. i have not worked that industry for 2 years now and would like to put it behind me personally.if you have questions about what they do and how business is ran now i really have no idea anymore. it is extremely regulated. would i reccomend buying a policy? no, i still wouldn't. even if they do legitamately pay out, the policies are still just as high as they use to be.

I recently received an official looking notice, similar to ones described above and with similar wording and warnings.  Since I will soon be in the market for extending a warranty on a used vehicle, I have been investigating several options.  When I called the 866--- number today for CarSafe, I was told that after investigating my inquiry they could offer me an extension of the factory warranty.  The only available terms were 5 years and 100,000 miles with no interest charges on a down payment and payments over 12 months.  I objected to the total cost.  They asked if I was a senior citizen and retired.  I am.  They then checked with another person and offered me a "special deal" which was still unacceptable.  They wanted payment today and I felt pressure to agree to a deal.  I told them "no thank you, I will look further" and hung up.  They were obviously not happy with my reply.  I intend to have nothing more to do with them.

I kind of agree. Nowhere on the letter does it indicate it is from Toyota or Honda, for that matter (I have a Honda and received same) Another tip off is that there is no return address. Give me a break, this is obvious fraud and I find it hard to believe that anyone fell for this.

Thanks for the advice Garrett. I was simply going to throw this out but will report as scam. Unbelievable that anyone fell for this.

Glad to read this. CarSafe is still at it with the warrantees. I just got an 'official' looking slip this morning and immediately became suspicious. 2nd Attempt indeed. Did a little digging and came up with the above. BBB now has them at an 'F'. Ech.

DO NOT reply to these guys. It might not be a complete scam, but they don't seem reputable.
