I received a notice from CarSafe that looked like an official notice of Toyota Extended Warranty coverage expiration and believed that it was real. The notice said "Extremely URgent and Time Sensative, Service Contract Expiration - This is not a bill, Expiration: 28 Feb 2010. Service Contract Explanation - Extensions Available to 2015. This letter is to inform you that your factory service contract has expired or is about to expire and you may extend your service contract coverage on the vehicle." It only states in small print towards the bottom of the letter that my extended service contract coverage offer expires Feb 28, 2010, which was misleading, because it appeared to be from the existing warranty provider, which is Toyota. It was by chance my Toyota Repair Manager called & happen to tell me that my warranty was good till Oct 2010. I'm requesting a void of the contract & full reimbursement of coverage, which doesn't start until 30days from 2/23/10. Let's see if they actually send me the money back. How many of us were scammed by this misleading notice. Shame on CarSafe!

I just received a similar 2nd Attempt letter in the mail today from a company called NAVISS with a similar pitch as described in your CarSafe complaints.  No return address, only a phone number and offering Premier Comprehensive warranty insurance for my Nissan UT.  I checked on-line and determined that Nissan does not make a model called UT.  Also, they did not have my VIN or any other identifying information about my vehicle. Definitely a scam.  Thanks for all the information.  I won't be wasting my time calling them.

I have called both companies numerous times to stop receiving their mailers and phone calls.  I will contact the post office tomorrow but I'm sure that will be a joke.  Do you know of any other way to be removed from their list?

You can't believe that anyone woud fall for this, but what if it's offered to you when you purchase the vehicle and the bank is the one offering it to you?  What then?  I can hardly believe that when I called my bank regarding (getting my money back if I did not use coverage)and they told me they only SOLD the policy that they in return got NOTHING from it.  I find that a bit hard to believe that they would use their time in selling this to you and get nothing back?  Give me a break!  If anone has be scammed from this company and HAS gotten their money back, I'd love to hear from you.  Sheilakwb@gmail.com

It is clear to me they are a fraud. They don't have accurate info on your car. They only have the model and year.

I live in New Jersey and keep receiving these pieces of 'urgent' mail.  I had a feeling it was a scam, but I called just to see and told them I am not intrested as I am leasing my car through a dealer and do not plan on buyig it.  Although, they keep sending me the time sensitive mail, so I decied to look it up online.  There isn't even a company name anywhere on the mail.  What a joke!

It's an attempt to panic you into calling them back via the phone number, to get around the Do Not Call laws.

      It's deceptive on it's face.

File mail fraud complaints with the U.S. Postal Inspector.
If they get enough, they can shut off their ability to send their cr*p through the U.S. Mail.

They sent me a card as well. I have been in the Automotive business for 40 years. Wow, what a scam pitch, I smelled a rat right away.. When I talked with them, I just wanted to see if they were legit. They first threw me a price of $4,450 for their five year protection. Within 5 minutes they dropped this price to $3,700 and then to $3,200 by passing me around to various scammers to talk to. They lowered the up front credit card billing from $295 to $125. Asking me many times for my credit card information. That was their first priority. They could not answer the very important basic questions. What is covered with your protection policy on the vehicle in detail, engine, powertrain, emissions etc?  What is the process when I take my vehicle in for repair? Do I have to wait for an adjuster to approve/not approve repairs. Do you pay 100% of repair bill or a percentage of the total repair.  Also folks there is a $100 deductable everytime you take your car in for any work. So if you take it in a couple times a year for any warrany work, add $1,000 to your five year coverage cost. Just check the BBB, that tells the story....

We receive these cards about once per week.  They actually have the year, make & model of our car on them.  How are they getting that information?  I'm opted out of everything with everyone.

Well my father delt with Car  Safe today and the customer service rep was rude and spoke down to my father.  His name is Chad and is in seriouse need of re-training or a new job.  I spoke with his supv and he was great, and I was told by the supv that this company is a multi million dollar company.  Your company maybe multi million dollar company but when you have rude reps your busn really is only a dollar a day busn.   I am sure most of their employees are not like this one but it only takes one to ruin it.

I received three letters from them in one day alerting me that I needed to renew my warranty. I called them and the man on the phone went from selling me a $750/ month warranty to a $150 down payment plan when I told him that I was not interested anymore. I told him that I needed to talk it over with my family and he said that "talking to my family was the worst idea because they were worthless when it came to paying the bills". I immediately hung up in disgust.
