Unwanted call from GC Services

"GC Services" has called me and asked to go to my neighbor house and ask them to call this company. I asked who they are, and they refused to tell. Just said that they are trying to contact my neighbors regarding a personal matter. I didn't feel comfortable doing what they asked me, so I hung up.

I just found out that this company is a collection agency. Is it a common practice to call neighbors and ask them for this kind of favors? Or was it a scam call?

By federal law you can file a lawsuit against these crooks that violate federal law several ways. Contact an attorney that sues debt collectors like these. Not only will the calls stop, but you can get up to $1000. I did it and it works. These collectors don't think you will do it. Several Attorneys  online that sue these jerks.

Courts can award actual damages, plus statutory damages up to $1000, plus your attorney fees, if you win.  Scine FDCPA and FCRA allow for attorney fees, you can find attorneys who take these cases on contingency.  You might try www.naca.net to find a consumer attorney in your state.

HAHAHA you all sound like a parent avoiding child support or something.  Getting all mad about a debt you created and trying not to be responsible for it.  I have student loans but they are in good standing and im not avoiding them. And guess what, I work for GC services. not cuz I like the company or working at a call center (which I despise) but cause I have bills that I am responsible for so therefore I work to pay them.  Reading these comments makes it easier on me to make over 150 calls to irresponsible people to get them to pay for the loans that they signed for and promised to pay.  Its 1am right now and bright and early at 8am I will be calling your job and submitting your employment verification to American Education Services so they can garnish your wages, disability, social security, unemployment, and take your taxes.  And couldn't care less about you because its my job to do it and its your responsibility to pay what you owe.

HAHAHA!  Joke's on you. replies to Dienamikthejerk
You're the one stuck working for a company you despise.
There's no career future in that.
So what if you get better at what you're doing, it's still the same sh*t.
      You're just marking time.

You should learn the lesson that you can't do better than who you work for.
Wake up and get a better job.

all you have to do is give GC a verbal cease and desist order and they will honor it. legally they can call anybody as long as they dont tell them its about a debt. just ask about settlements. gc really will work with you and are much better then a lot of other companies.

the dregs of society, and then expects the rest of us to put up with their incompetent antics.  How does it feel to be a dreg, knowing that what they encourage you to do is little different than how you can expect to be treated when someone else is cheaper?
