Who, exactly, do they say they are?

Other complaints have indicated that Vitelity is just some VoIP company, used by both call centers, and often by overseas scammers.  When "Vitelity LLC" shows up on caller id, it appears to just indicate the telecom compay linking the call into the U.S.  http://vitelity.com/

They are increasingly showing up in connection with scam calls from out of the couhtry.

    Levels of complaints are increasing.

    "Police Detective - 7 May 2010
I am a Police Detective in Colorado.  I am investigating this company whose reps (Indian accent) are impersonating "Detectives", "Officers" & "Investigators".  When I called posing as the person they originally called, my victim, I was told they were affiliated with the United States Government and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  When I questioned his affiliation with the FBI and requested a mailing address to send a letter to verify who he was, I was told he would not give me an address.  He told me my job was to relay his message to the person he was trying to contact who owed $250.00 to a company called Cash Net.  When I told him I would not relay any messages for him he told me to wait a couple of days to see what would happen to me.  I consider that a threat.  I am investigating this company and its parent companies/affiliates in an attempt to locate the people placing these calls.  If they are in the U.S., I will prosecute them.  If they are outside the U.S., I will do all I can to convince their phone service providers to cancel them."

    "the Princess - 19 Aug 2010
Dear Sir, The BBB gives you a great rating as long as you or your company pays their annual dues.    I am a retired PI in Rhode Island and a case against the BBB was ours.  We proved my info to you.  I too have received calls from this Vitelity LLC company with a Florida area code.  I noted that all the other complaints have different area codes and phone numbers and are trying all kinds of tricks to get information out of the call receiver.  I conacted the Providence Office of the FBI and they are working on this.  The agent I spoke to today said that they have had more calls today about this Vitelity LLC than anything else.  Usually I hang up on them.  I just felt like goofing on this guy today but I could not understand him because of the middle eastern accident.  Be a buddy and notify your friends.  Thanks for your message."

    "MAd Women - 2 Sep 2010
Hello I got that same exact call from this # 630-239-5928 from Vitelity llc asaying I took out a load of $500 from Net Cash and never payed when I didnt they have all my info Address last Four of my SSN DL # they even called my friends asking about me Dont know what to do they also said they were going to come to my job and serve me paper and i was going to get arrested on Monday when here in USA is a holiday lol I told them to stop harrassing me. Thanks please HELP!!"

Due to the high levels of scam complaints associated with these calls, you should be very wary about believing anything they say, or disclosing ANY information to them.

"Calling about your son's car" may just be the opening line in a phony debt collection scam.  Such scams often contact and attempt to panic relatives, or harass employers, even before calling and harassing their intended victim.   Or it could be a fraudulent telemarketer pitching scam "auto warranties".

received a call from Nolen Cooper (248) 928-1228 who said he was calling about a debt of one of our patients at our dental office. It seemed suspicious since he gave me the wrong total and pronounced her name as as Kristin rather than Kristine. His phone number came up on my called id with Vitelity LLC. He did not have an accent, but I googled Vitelity LLC and collection before calling back since it seemed so odd. We haven't seen the patient in over 3 years and her debt was not collected. He was telling us it was collected on 11/9 and he had some questions for me. I didn't call him back. I'll post if he calls again. Sounds like Vitelity might be a communications company and he just has a phone number through them. Sort of like if calls came up saying AT&T or Verizon on your caller id. If I understand, it isn't Vitelity who is making the calls. It is come guy who used Vitelity for his phone service.

    nothing safe...
Received call from 919-238-7062 VITELITY, LLC at 7:00 pm EST. I have learned not to pick up any call I do not recognize the number. They did not leave a message but hung up right away. As soon as they did, I googled Vitelity and found enough information to confirm I did the right thing. Tell your friends and loved ones to do the same...the older they are the more vulnerable they are. Do everyone a favor and education them! That will stop these predators! Screen your calls! Nothing is safe anymore.

Just got 4 calls in a row from Vitelity, LLc. The number was 214-377-5992. A guy with a heavy accent said he "John" trying to complete his final year of his MBA. Needed my help with a survey. When I said "no" and hung up, he called back - 3 more times! Wanted my email address. He got very agitated when I wouldn't give it to him. Who are these people and what do they want? When I call the number back, I get a message that says, "You call cannot be completed due to a temporary error."

    The newest telephone scam

I too have just gotten three calls today from vitelity. I'd like to pass on something else that might be of interest to everyone and please pass this on to everyone you know. When the first bill was passed to enact the national do not call list, there were exemptions...charities, pre-election campaigning by politicians(of coarse lawmakers wouldn't give that up), etc.... Telemarketing profits took a hit, there's a number I'd like to know(no pun intended). Now, along comes the credit card industry(essentially 'the banks' as a group) and the new rules enacted recently...they had to have been affected by the initial do-not-call list legislation to some extent...and within those same NEW rules that were at least in the media to be more consumer friendly, a give back to the banks was given in the legislation(it's always give and take, the media decides what details are published) in the form of exemption from the do-not-call list. Now, with all that has gone on in the financial world the banks aren't too keen on jumping back on your phones caller i.d.. But, they will broker their exemption to any company that would buy it. The two companies make a deal, create a third company and they make their business on your phone, again, still...

I got a call from that same number. They said "betty's dad?" - asking for my daughter's father. When I asked who was calling they hung up. I called the number back and a recording comes on saying "please leave your name number, and what state you're calling from. We have a very important message for you."

My husband's phone received a call today from 954.317.5701.
    I answered the call " _________ phone. _________ speaking."
Nothing said by the person who called and after a few secs they hung up.
I called the number back. It was picked up. A woman's voice said right away, in a smarty pants way, "Byyee .." and hung up.
I did a search. This number is from Vitelity LLC in Pompano Beach as it turns out.

Either its a FREAK who works there making crank calls or its just a FREAK COMPANY making a career out of nuisance calls.

Whichever it is PLEASE QUIT! There is nothing to gain from it.
