Ultimate Warranty Corporation Scam

Do not buy a After Market Auto Warranty from Ultimate Warranty Corporation.

I purchased a After Market Auto Warranty from Ultimate Warranty Corporation and I have had nothing but problems. Ultimate warranty was supposed to give me an auto warranty with no deductible .This was in my contract, No deductible. They made a mistake on their end as a result they charged me an extra $50 for any claim. They did not honor their contract and continued to charge me a deductible until I threatened lawsuit and contacted the regional sale rep for Ultimate Warranty Corporation.

The second experience I had with them was worse. Ultimate warranty only replaces your parts with parts from a JUNK YARD. They do not use automotive parts form dealers or ever after market retailers. Only Auto Parts form the JUNK YARD. Read the words carefully. Under the parts section of the contract, it reads they will use recycled parts!
It also stats that they use parts that are of equal kind and quality to those used by most automotive repair shops! What repair shop suggests using junk yard parts? My mechanic was outraged.

Filling claims with this company takes days and getting ones Car repaired takes weeks. Their contract implies that you will get a rental if your car is in the shop for more than 8 hours. They will not honor this. They have worded the contract carefully in order to never have to provide you with a rental car. They do this by wording the contract to read the repair hours must add up to be 8 hours. Most repairs do not take this long, but given that it takes Ultimate Warranty Corporation 3 days to approve a claim and another week to ship your auto part from a junk yard you will be out of a car for a week.

If they feel the need they will send out an inspector to second guess your mechanics work. The do this to try and get out of paying any claim.

Their customer car sucks. You sit on hold for hours. If you try to make a complaint they will send you to a manager. One manager just hung upon me! If you get the claims department on the phone do not let them “call you back” they will not!

Over all Ultimate Warranty Corporation is a huge Scam. Do not purchase any of their automotive warranty products. If they offer any other products, Home Warranties, Product Warranties, Road Side Assistance Programs not do business with Ultimate Warranty Company. I filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I did not see any complain like this when I bought the contract.  I'm having a claim now and I do experience waiting on hold for a long time.  My shop can't get in touch with them either.  I guess I'm another sucker.  Let see how this claim goes.

I bought a extended warranty from UWC, they have not paid my "authorized" claim since August 2007.  It's almost impossible to get through, the hold time is around 30 minutes then the call goes to a fast busy.  No one returns your calls or the contact from that you fill out on-line.  If you do get through no one is able to help you.  I'll post more information later with all the extention #'s of the executives.  I have filed complaints with the OH Attorney General and the OH BBB.  This company has had numourous complaints against them.  I cannot understand why they are still in business.  We need to ban together and and work together to solve this problem.

I'm also having issues with even getting this company to process a claim. My vehicle has been in the garage for 4 days and they can never get through to claims. They never answer the phone or leave you on hold forever.

Thank you Casey!  Hopefully these work for the guys that are working on my vehicle.  They're afraid that they went out of business too.  They had me write my state's attorney general just in case that is the situation to see what I am able to do.

Good luck to everyone dealing with this right now.

I have also had trouble with this company. I filed a claim in July to have an A/C compressor replaced. After 3 days of waiting for their adjuster to come by and approve the repair they finally agreed to repair the vechicle. They then called me to tell me they would not pay for a new compressor and wanted to use a remanufactured one that would take two more days to get. I difference in new and remanufactured was only $100. I told the repair shop to use the new one and I would pay the difference. When my vehicle was finally repaired the total bill was $1107. I had a $100 deductible so i figured my bill would be $200 since i was paying the extra for the new compressor. Ultimate Warranty only paid $610 of the bill. They refused to pay for all the labor, freon, and a new expansion valve, which wass covered under warranty. This also did not include the car rental for 5 days. I wrote them a letter and emailed them complaining about this and they finally agreed to reimburse me for 2 days rental and my deductible, a total of $150. Wow that was really nice of them! yea right. The email I received saying they would pay the $150 was on August 9th. It is now October 20th and I still haven't been paid. Every time I call or email them now, I either can't get through or get voice mail and no one returns calls or emails. I tried all the extensions provided above and get voice mails every time. I am currently on hold now for the 2nd time today. The first time was over 30 minutes. All I want now is to cancel my contract and get some kind of refund. These people are ridiculous.

Just a warning to all of you with Ultimate Warranty policies.  If you cancel your policy they will deduct the total amount of claims filed from the refund.  Therefore in most cases, you get no refund.

An update since I last posted. I finally got someone to answer the phone at Ultimate Warranty after trying most of the day. I asked again about the refund I was due and was told again it is in processing. However, he could not connect me to accounts department since no one was there today.I then told him I wanted to speak to someone about cancelling contract. He transferred my call and I got a voice mail. I left message saying I wanted a call back TODAY! To my surprise i did receive a call back and was then told that Ultimate Warranty did not handle the cancellations. If I wanted to cancel the contract I would have to talk to the company I bought warranty from. I called the company I bought the warranty from and talked at length with him about the problems I was having. He informed me that he was aware of the problem and had been contacted by many customers with similar complaints. He also told me that Ultimate Warranty was having problems with their insurance company and that was the reason for the delays in payments. He also said that because of the difficulties he was having in getting refunds for other customers wanting to cancel that it would probably be a while before anyone saw a refund. I had two policies to cancel, one which i had never used so i should get a refund. Also i went to the Cleveland BBB website. It has some very interesting information about Ultimate Warranty there. They had so many complaints that they dropped Ultimate Warranty from their list of companies. Also they had so much trouble getting someone to answer their phone calls and emails, they had to actually send someone to the Ultimate Warranty office building just to see if they were still in business. I hope everyone gets paid what they are due, but i am very doubtful it will happen.

You can also hit "1" and get a review of all the names of people that work or don't work there and leave messages.  Now the recording on the lines say that "due to extra ordinary high call volumes" please leave a message.  Has the Cleveland BBB said anything else concerning their visit there?

Hey guys, it looks like we all have had it with Ultimate Warranty. If the company does not pay for a claim within 60 days it is a breach of contract (check the fine print). I believe we should all ban together to form a class action lawsuit against Ultimate Warranty. I know there are contract litigation attorneys and paralegals patroling complaint sites and I hope they can contact us about possibly forming a class against Ultimate Warranty to pay us the full price for our contract plus any owed repair expenses. I bought my warranty through National Auto Warranty company and all they do is try to shift the blame to Ultimate. That company sold the policy and they bear a share of the blame and expenses.

I was able to get fax numbers for each department in Ultimate Warranty and faxed them demand letters. I also contacted the Ohio Insurance Commission and filed a complaint as well as the BBB in Cleveland. I filed another complaint with the AG in my own state as well.

If you guys agree and if any attorneys or paralegals specializing in contract litigation are interested, we should seriously think about a class action against Ultimate Warranty before they try to file for bankruptcy or some other move.

    Eric-

I agree with you, I bought mine through Auto Advantage in VA.  I did find out that UWC utilizes the Capital Assurance Risk Retention Group, Inc, 1327 Ashley River Road Building C, Suite 200, Charleston, SC  29407.  per Anthony R. Scatena Executive Vice President of UWC.  I'm sure he's still there.  NOT!

More information.  I have contacted the Capital Assurance Risk Retention Group Inc via 877-872-7475.  Paul Noon is the account manager.  I was able to find out that Capital Assurance is trying to organize things for UWC because they don't have the manpower to handle all our claims.  The woman I spoke to was very nice, she does not think that UWC is going out of business.  She is taking the claim information and forwarding to UWC and they will work on the the claims 60 days or older which are in the "breach of contract" state mentioned above.  I hope this helps everyone out.  I have been extremely frustrated with UWC and I'm sure they will use my outbursts on the recordings to use in training sessions in the future.  Capital A is the one underwriting them so I hope we can keep on our side somehow.  I'll pass on whatever I find out to help everyone out somehow.  Have a nice evening everyone.

I too am waiting for a claims refund from UWC.  After 3 days of my car in the dealership I paid out of pocket for the repairs in hopes of getting reimbersed?  Add me to the list for a class action.  I want my $$$$$$.  Thanks.
