I found through review of my credit bureau reporting agency that i have a new collection debt through Stellar Collection Service, Syracuse NY for the amount 706.00.  I owe no one that amount of monies.  They have not provided me with an account number or a written statement telling me who it belongs to.  I have a fraud alert filed as of June of this year for information as my wallet was stolen in June of 2007.  I have reported this to the detective that is handling my case.  In the meantime there is a collection agency that is trashing my credit with faulty information.  Beware.

    Has the debt collector sent you a collection letter?  
    If so, did it notify you of your right to dispute and request validation in writing within 30 days?  
    If so, did you send a dispute and validation letter?
    If not, did you send such a dispute and validation letter anyway, based on the erroneous account on your credit report?

    Have you disputed this account in writing thru any credit reporting agencies that show the account on your credit reports?

    Have you filed a complaint with your local police that this is a fraudulent account?
    Have you obtained a copy of the id fraud police report referring to this account, and if so, have you sent a copy of it with a fraud affidavit to the credit reporting agency to request removal?

    pulled my credit report and found a collection amount for $118 have no clue what this could be for and can't get to anyone to help me get this off my report.

      Hi..Sent all 3 credit agencies dispute letters.  By law, they must remove this off your rating after 30 days, unless you owe this and the agency in question says so.

      Hope that helps...  Just google all three agencies.  Call each one and get a free report.

    Send the debt collector a letter, mailed certifed, disputing the alleged debt, and requesting the name and address of the original creditor, and proof from the original creditor that you owe it.  Include a redacted copy of the credit report page, blacking out all parts not relevant to their tradeline that you are disputing.

    On confirming their receipt of your dispute, send a dispute or the same entry to the credit reporting agency, again mailed certified.

    The debt collector should either send you proof of the validity of the alleged debt, or remove it from your credit reports.  If instead, they demand payment, or they "verify" it to the credit reporting agency, you may be able to sue, under FDCPA or FCRA.

    While I havent found a fraudluent account/anything on my credit report, I have had a dealing with this company this week.  After several employees hung up on me, I was finally put through to a "supervisor" that was no more help than the rest of the employees.  I understand, like with most things, they are only going to disclose the information they have if the person they are calling for verifies it is who they are looking for.  In my case, they have been calling over and over for the wrong person.  When I attempt to fix this problem, they demand to know all of my information and refuse to tell me any of theirs except they are Stellar Collection Services out of Montana.  Who called who?  I can't tell if it is a scam or if they get off on harrassing people.  But they definitely have a problem with customer service if they even are a legitimate company.

      report it to the local authourities. We did and they called the company and said they would be charge with something if it didn't stop. the calls have stopped

      Here is the number 805 253-1523.  I spoke with them today.  I did owe something to their client so set up payments,.  However, I must tell you she was nice at first but then hung up on me fairly quickly.  I am checking them out right now.  Try the 805 number above because she answered today 6/6/12 (Victoria Johnson)

      Their online number is  406-755-9522 but I have not called that one

    I just got a call from Stellar Collection Agency with some bogus debt that they are saying that I owe. She kept trying to get my personal information but I would not give her any.  The number they called me from is 281-661-8823.  I'm sure it's a scam!!

      They are a company but in Montana and one other state.  Number is above 805---  The montana number is busy all the time so I would call the805 area code number I posted above

    Received an auto-call from these people wanting to talk to my ex (good luck on that, she died three years ago) with 'Press 3 if that person did not live there". A real person came on and I told her she had the wrong number but DID NOT offer any other information. She said they would take my phone number off of the file within 24 hours. We will see.

    I keep getting calls from them for people I never heard of! Lawrence Palenek & Dominique Sanchez. Now they they've replaced Dominique's last name with mine. I've told them several times there is no one by those names at my phone number & to remove my number from their list. No such luck.

    This company has been calling my home number for the last 2 1/2 yrs.  I have told them over and over that I do not know these people nor do they have my home number. They become rude and lie that they just received this information to call to collect funds.  I told them I will file harrassment charges them if they call my number again.  11/10/11

      I keep getting calls like I have time for their stupidness.  They have the wrong number and I have informed them numerous times to no avail.   I told them I would report them for harassment, but keep calling.  Pretty nasty people.   The lady I talked to said I was ranting and she hung up on me.   Now what??  I have to admit I wasn't very nice.  I am a care give for my husband and do not want to receive calls that have nothing to do with me.   Thank you for listening.    Phyllis

    From the block list on my smartphone, it appears that this number started calling my phone twice per month in September 2011.  It also appears that they began calling me the month before, in August of 2011, from a slightly different number: 281-661-8811. Surely it is more than a coincidence that this phone number should change from 281-661-8811 to 281-661-8823.  After August and September, however, there are no more calls at all until December 22, 2011.  I almost feel lonely and forgotten that they were busy calling everybody else, and not me.  Of course, it wouldn't make any difference anyway.  Their phone call is blocked and so I have no notion at all that they're calling me, unless I take the time to check the block list.

    I received my free annual credit report and found an Adverse Account  listed as Stellar Collection Service for $190.  I can not get anyone to return my calls.  I have never received a bill or a phone call on this.  I do not owe a medical bill for $190, I have medical insurance.  It also stated that this is a joint account
