WE ARE GOVERNMENT CONTRACTORS WHY WOULD WE NEED YELLOW PAGES ONLINE. HE CALLED THE OFFICE AND ASKED ME TO VERIFY ALL INFORMATION HE HAS AND THEN RECORDED ME AND MADE IT SEEM LIKE I ORDERED AN AD. HE TOLD ME HIS NAME IS RICHARD WILSON AND HE IS CALLING FROM COLLECTIONS AND NEEDS MY MONEY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER FOR IT NOT TO GO TO MY CREDIT. I TOLD HIM TO SEND IT TO MY CREDIT THEN AND HE SAID NO I NEED YOU TO PAY THIS. HIS NUMBER IS 646-351-1239. THIS IS REDICULOUS SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING, BECAUSE WE ARE OUT AROUND $500.

    They are a fraudulent "business directory" telemarketing scam.

    This type of scam is well known to federal and state regulators, and often involves the fraudulent doctoring, editing, or misrepresenting of recorded phone calls to extort payment.  

    You are not out $500 unless you believe their BS and actually pay them.  They generally do nothing but make idle threats, and back down in the face of filing complaints with the authorities.

    File fraud complaints with FTC and your state Attorney General.

    well this number called today and said they were the Federal Crime unit and they have a warrant for my arrest in NY- unless I pay $2500.00

    I got a call today from this number and they wanted to speak with my boss. The guy said his name was Mike Schmidt, very American name, very un-American accent. He said it was in regards to a Federal Case Complaint from the IRS against my boss and insisted that I give him boss' cell phone. I refused to give out the number. He said it's an emergency and had to have the number. I finally told him I WOULD NOT give him the number.

    they called me and said they have a complaint against me . Asked to call the federal crime number at 646-351-1239 immediately.
    I found out out its a scam searching for that number.

    Scammers .. asking for money or will be arrested. Curse them and post everywhere you know so other people wont fall for this scam.

    Got the same threatening call today from the LA Sherriffs  and to call Michael Black at 646-351-1239 or get arrested in the next 30 min.  The same message was to my dead wife of 14 years, anniversary tomorrow.  

    Thanks for this post and the internet to help stop fraud.

    they called me....indian accent...we are the cops...you owe IRS $6000....you must go to Home Depot to buy a cash money order or we will arrest you....too funny

    I got a call from this number and when it was going to voice message, i answered.
    He said "their is complain from [my father name] to IRS" ?
    i said my father complained to you guy then why are you calling us back.
    Then i was like what is the message.
    he said "I am officer peter smith"
    i asked him which state are you calling from?
    he said "America"
    I said America is a country not a state.
    That time i knew this is a scam.
    I told him this does not sound legit call.
    He started cursing me out. " You Mother F*** Son of B***,........................................"
    I hanged up on him.
    This is a known issue already been reported to IRS many times before.

    I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER 646-351-1239 (BUT LET IT GO TO VOICE MAIL, THE GENTLEMAN IDENTIFIED HIMSELF HAS ALLEN BELCHER INDICATED THERE WAS A FEDERAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST ME (BUT THE NAME THAT HE SAID WAS NOT MINE) AND THAT I NEED TO CONTACT MIKE SCHMIDT AT 646-626-5564 TO DISCUSS THE FEDERAL COMPLAINT.  IF I DIDN'T CONTACT OFFICER SCHMIDT, HE WOULD HAVE SOMEONE COME ON MY JOB AND ARREST ME ON THE FEDERAL CHARGES.  I HAVE BLOCKED BOTH NUMBERS AND WILL BLOCK ANYMORE THAT COME MY WAY.  THIS IS MY SECOND CALL INDICATING THERE ARE FEDERAL CHARGES OUT THERE ON SOMEONE.  MY FIRST ONE CAME FROM DC 202-506-1967

    SAME # SHAWN WOODS HARRASSING MY BOSS I GOOGLED THE # AND FOUND MANY OF YOUR COMMENTS, AMUSING, WE CALLED BACK AND RE-HARASSED THEM FOR QUITE A WHILE, LAST CALL I MADE I USED THE KEY PAD AFTER HE ANSWERED PUSHING IT PERHAPS 2O TIMES WITH VARIOUS NUMBERS, WHEN WE CALLED BACK IT WONT ANSWER ANYLONGER??  DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS WHAT I TYPED OR? HOPE THEY WERE BUSTED

      Either they blocked  your number, or they had to change their own number to prevent your calls from messing up their scam.
      Probably about the only tactic to get back at them.

    got a call at work from officer Peter Smith stating that my boss had a complaint against her and she needed to call ASAP!! nothing but scams, don't fall for it.

      They are running a shakedown racket impersonating law enforcement.
      That deserves an FBI complaint, just to produce a trail.

        the caller ID came from local county sheriff office identifying them as deputy david marshall, and mentioned about an unwarranted arrest and asked to return my cell phone to the nearest local police office else call the number at  6463511239 and talk to officer Kevin brown , checked with local county office and they mentioned  never called.

    They called me, no voicemail.  Wish I had picked up, would have been hilarious from the sounds of it. I called back and it just rang forever.

    Who are these people? I keep getting phone calls from these jerks, saying a law suit has been filed in my name. They have no voice mail, and the phone just rings. What the hell is going on?

    I got this call 5 minutes ago saying I had committed tax fraud. He said everything was being recorded. I asked for written documentation. He then freaking asked me "Kristina, would you become [***] and talk sexy?" I hung up immediately. This is sick. How did he get my number?!
