Please look into the background of anyone to make sure they're legit. There's ripoff warnings, a bbb complaint and court house legal drama in connection to Jim Shead coaching services being a scam. One court house saga in connection to Jim Shead coaching services can be viewed here: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCOURTS-mnd-0_0 ... -cv-01686-0.pdf

Please look into the background of Jim Shead or anyone else before handing your money over for "coaching" services to assure they aren't a professional scam artist. Words are great, but actions speak louder. I would personally feel more comfortable handing my money over to be a party to do an actual real estate deal.

Jim Shead travels around the world doing his scam coaching services. So far, there's only one "Jim Shead" real estate coach that has an online presence. Every time I google "Jim Shead" real estate, all the links that come up are regarding this one individual.

So let me get this straight.  You have never been to one of Jim's seminars, and you are siting a case - that Jim Shead actually won - as evidence to beware of Jim Shead?

In that case, by all means people, please read this court transcript, and please read Jim's rebuttal to the ripoff report.

This person deliberately showed up at an event and deliberately got kicked out so they could sue the company.  Please also notice it was a free event, so there was no refund to receive, and they sued based on lost future income by not receiving the training - that they got themselves kicked out of.

BTW, also notice the judge fined the plaintiff and sent him to jail over this!

So yes, beware of Jim Shead if you plan on bringing frivolous lawsuits - he will defend them.

Do you know this guy? I was getting spammed by this "Jim Shead" guy this month. See the post below where it states the following:

I just don't think it wise to get involved with shady guys, no matter how many excuses they have lined up to defend themselves. If there's constant shady activities and behavior around one individual, I just don't care to get mixed up with them:

So one complaint, by someone who has never even attended one of Jim's courses, after 20+ years of being in business makes Jim a shady guy?  And if you read the whole court case the guy who sued Jim didn't even pay Jim for the training.  He paid a totally different company, showed up at the wrong location and Jim felt bad for him so Jim let him into his training - free.  By the time the case was over the other person ended up going to jail for contempt.

If that makes Jim a guy to avoid ...

Also, on your bigger pockets post - nothing in that Link about Jim or his companies.  Not sure how that supports your argument, or just makes you look like you have no credibility.

I didn't post the "bigger pockets" post. So I'm not sure why you're replying to me regarding it. But since you replied to me about that post, I went ahead and read the bigger pockets post and there IS correspondence regarding Jim Shead's company giving FRAUDULENT advice to someone. EEEEK. I guess my friend was right all along to warn me about this Jim Shead guy. My friend did attend a meeting in Charleston with the Charlestion REIA group and heard some negative chatter about the Jim Shead guy giving real estate advice that turned out to be fraudulant when he tried to incorporate that advice in his real estate endeavors. I guess my friend was right to warn be about this Jim Shead character. I was contemplating paying for an event that he was speaking at and very happy I didn't sign up and waste my money to hear advice from a speaker that, so far, is known to give fraudulent advice.

You might not have posted it on bigger pockets, but you did post it above - which was my point. And you admitted you hadn't read it prior to posting and wasn't sure why I was replying to you?  Do you want to maybe rethink that one?

So to get this straight, someone hired to process orders at one of Jim's events was asked a question they didn't know the answer to.  Granted they should have said go see Jim, but I can accept that as a bad decision.  Hmm, ever call a help desk with a complex problem?  Ever get a wrong answer from someone who didn't know?  Did you post that here?

And also to be clear, Jim didn't provide this fraudulent advice, a clerical person did.  And when Jim found out about the issue he called the person and clarified the information before they took action.  And the clarical person was reprimanded.

If you actually had heard about a Jim Shead event, you would know you don't have to pay for any of our introductory seminars, ever,  and you don't get invited to a paid event until you have been through the introductory course.  So your decision to avoid paying for one of Jim's vents is complete BS because you wouldn't of had to pay for a free event, and you wouldn't have been invited to a paid event.

That being said, if you'd like to come to an event and experience the reality for yourself, feel free to reach out.  Unlike others here who claim to be helping people yet have more complaints than most speakers combined, if you actually attend a free event and don't like what we offer feel free to complain all you want.  At least attend an event before you decide to criticize something you know nothing about.

Biff, aka; Rob Provenzano. Stop using fake aliases. You prove that you are fake by doing so. You left your wife to live with Jim on his property. Give it up. This will destroy you.

Sign of a scam artist replies to BiffMalibu
      Biff Malibu "AKA" Jim Shead,

This is just more signs that you're a scam and you, some how, are always surrounded by other shady people & other scam artists as well. Furthermore, closing companies, opening new ones, entangled with thieves who steal money from companies, you ignore phone calls from people asking for refunds. Goodness, you're just full of excuses for your bad behavior and you are "somehow" always surrounded by other scam artists, shady folks & thieves. If it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck, etc.

Jim Shead is a great investor and a wonderful coach. He has helped me increase my monthly cash flow by investing in real estate. He has been available to me at all times when I needed him for deals. I appreciate everything he has done for me and my "new" life of retirement at age 35. If you read the documents above someone is sued him for his workshop expense and 1k for ???? who knows.. but for 2k he should not be complaining about anything. 2k for a 4 day workshop is a steal.

Concerning this post above about Jim, I must apologize because this came from my community here in Charleston. Jim just spoke for us the day before yesterday and now today we see someone who clearly knows nothing about Jim, real estate, or coaching, posting about Jim in a derogatory and uneducated manner supported by virtually nothing. I myself am the President of the Charleston Real Estate Investor Association and Founder of the North American Real Estate Investors Association. We have and are currently developing chapters all across the country. I DO MY HOMEWORK. Letting outside speakers have the opportunity to train our members is a very serious choice we have to make. We have been burnt in the past by other scam artists and have suffered losses both financially and losses of membership. Jim however, has been nothing but great to our organization. We apologize to Jim because we believe an antisocial personality within our community is just trying to make less of his intentions because he has done well for us. This post comes directly after Jim, & our organization's chapter: The Charleston REIA, helped to put on a FREE event where we fed everyone and offered them a 2-day training for 99 dollars with Jim. ALL Proceeds Supported a nonprofit called "Claus for Cause" ...which supports underprivileged children in the Charleston and surrounding areas. We donated thousands for Children Christmas & Families in need. Jim is a stand up guy. He's not the cheapest trainer within our industry, but i personally have and am currently seeing his results for his students first-hand. Will he ever be able to make everyone happy? Try owning a business and see if you can.

Robert and Marsha were BOTH wrong. Jim ended up taking the list that Robert, Marsha, and the Charleston REIA donated to Jim to do a nonprofit event and used it to create an entirely different real estate group in Charleston. Jim even copied the Charleston REIA name and called this new group the Charleston Investor Association. Sorry Robert and Marsha,  but both of you were wrong. Jim Shead's been quoted saying in this business, "you have to be able to sell your mother." No Jim, we won't sell our mothers.

Jim is not a part of the Charleston Reia. He used them to get what he wanted. He's a user. No less than a highly intelligent scam artist.

I was wrong about Jim Shead. He even got me and Marsha to post well about him two days before he launched a new endeavor to try and steal our model, our staff, and members. I believe 100% that Jim posted negative reviews under an alias to get me, Marsha, and Mary "posts above this" to back him and support him as a good person before enacting his devilish plan. He lied to us right up the night before. So for that, I apologize. Given, Jim is no slouch. He worked me and the staff for 12 months before he figured out his way to scam us. The worst part about the whole thing was how he did it. He told us for 12 months that he didn't want anything to do with Reia's and that he shut down his business and now wanted to retire. Unfortunately, this boo-hoo strategy worked. We invited him in as someone who could help grow our organization.

He found his way to get over by getting us to lend him an old list of ours to support a charity that was supposed to feed starving children. He used that to get and old list, Thank God I didn't give him our updated list or he would have buried us.

Turning over a list for Jim to use was a verbal joint venture deal in which our organization was supposed to receive 40% of all coaching sales.

The revenues from the JV deal along with the help from an elder "guru" like Jim would have done very much to provide education to people who don't have the resources that we provide. If it were all true, it would have been great. Unfortunately for us, none of it was true. All the lies that he spent months telling us, went right out the door. For that, I'd like very much to retract the statements made on this site and any other supporting this devil of a man.

He posted negative reviews about himself on this site under a fictitious name and wrote me a book as to why it was me. When it wasn't. This was his way to try and cancel our JV deal. He used his own negative posts about himself to get us to post positive things about him online before he screwed us over. Genius. What a crack pot.

Well, I guess you could say that Jim is one of the most dedicated speakers that I have ever had the experience of working with.  He is sold out to helping people be successful in their real estate business.  He is unique with his presentations and he is such an interesting speaker to listen to.  Whoever said something against him must have a jealousy streak because they can not be as successful as he is.  He has worked hard to get where he is and yes he can boast about it because it does take work and money and time to be where he is today.  Keep up the good work Jim and we are so glad that you are part of our team at the CREIA.

Jim got me, Marsha, and Mary to protect him on this scam site after he posted negative remarks about himself under a fake alias. He then accused us as being the people doing it while we were in the middle of a profitable JV deal. This was is clever way to try and weasel his way out of the deal on the premise that we were attacking him. Which is sad. We then protected him by posting good remarks on this site to protect him. The very next Monday morning he launched his own endeavors to take our staff, model, and members.

What a clever, clever thief. Jim is a pro. A pro scam artist. He worked us for over a year to get what he perceived us to have. At least he didn't get it all.

I took a 4 day workshop with AIN, Jim's company, in 2006. It was the biggest let down ever in my real estate career. He and Susan Pilkenton promoted investing and a program called Build A Home which turned into a class action lawsuit which left me stressed out for 9 years. I was able to walk away from a vacant lot in Florida but the promises American Investors Network made under Jim's direction turned out to be worthless. On top of that, promoting a $25,000 protoge program at the already $2000 4-day training. Then AIN disappears and Jim changes the name of the business to AIA: American Investors Association.
But here's the kicker: back in 2006 AIN has a full page ad in the LA Times promoting, Make Money with EBay. I attended the seminar and eventually the 4 day training and nothing about EBay was done. It was used to lure people to the training. Susan Pilkenton continues to operate in Florida.
These individuals are in it for themselves and talk a good game. I emailed Ms. Pilkenton on LinkedIn to express my outcome of her and Jim's Build A Home program and she never replied.
I want nothing to do with thses types of over hyped real estate promoters who continue to take people's money and under deliver. It was very disappointing.
