I recently received a phone call from 1-888-279-9221 and also 1-877-855-4547 that told me I had won a $1000 online shopping spree. All I had to do was answer a few questions; little did I know the questions were about my bank account information. Beware, everyone, if you get a phone call from this number(s). It is a scam. After doing some research on the company, I discovered that they use your bank account information to rob you. The report I read was written by a woman who had the same experience with this company. She was told that she would receive magazines in the mail. She received no magazines but money was still withdrawn from her account.

For those that get a phone call from this number, DO NOT answer.

They called me and asked me to confirm the last four digits of my bank card #. It is a TOTAL scam. I just went to the bank and My account was in the negative! Seriously, and I didnt even confirm. I dont even know how they got the numbers up until then. They not only do their magazine charges but a crap load of other stuff. I just had to sign a few documents with M&T to report the fraud as well as close out my account and wait for the rest of the charges to surface. Its a pain and all I did was answer my phonw which they constantly call and keep saying no.

    They called from a few diff numbers:  6785601803, 8666148890, 8778551115, 8882799221, 2012574210 3526883475

I received the same call today but dumb me agreed to it first and researched after. They told me the amount would take place In 3-5 business days meanwhile transaction was already made while still on the phone with them! Then the supervisor gave me his "direct" number to call if I have any questions or concerns so after researching o call that direct number back to cancel and guess what? It wasnt the supervisor! My call routed to another rep telling me I signed up for something I didn't, offering me another Damn giftcard! So the rep gave me the number to CS which is 877-855-1115. Ms Nelson at ext 2037 did not want to refund my transaction right away and still wanted to send me magazines. She went on saying that Walmart has bad reviews and she was sure that I still shopped there. All n all thank god I was able to get it cancelled and my money back! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Reading America is the worst place in the world.  They send you the wrong mags and when you call them to cancel your order they tell you that you can't and try to strike fear in your heart about sending you to collections.  Well I went to the bank and changed my account number.  When they couldn't get their money that started calling me about ten times a day, so I changed my number and they are out of my life for good now.  They send me letters about collection agencies but I rip them to shreds and have not had any trouble yet and it's been about a year.

This company is located in Georgia. Georgia law states that telemarketers DO NOT gave to tell consumers the cancellation policy. However, it is ILLEGAL for them not to tell you if you ask. They have been fined by the State of Georgia in the past for misrepresentation. Please document any conversations you have with them regarding this. Then contact the Dept of Consumer Affairs, a dept of the state attorney general.

They cannot send you to collections because all you have to do is say you cancel. Document the call and any future collection calls. If you have asked them to specifically to put you on their DO NOT CALL list, document any future calls and send all complaints to the Office of Consumer Affairs.

I fell for the scam. I called and said I had been laid off and was a student. They canceled my order but told me they would keep the first charge of 44.94 and would send me two magazines for one year. I also cancelled my card and got a new one to make sure they could not make any other charges.

Hey everyone, i was contaced in februrary with the same thing. I am in the military and recently went to JAG They told me that we can get the people shut down for fraud. But we had to all do something about it, he told me to go to you Secretary of State and complain, than also go to the BBB (better buisness bureau) and complain and also say you want them to be investigated, also contact your local FBI Agency and claim you may have been a victem of Fraud, if enough complaints go in they will actually investigate to see if it is true, the other thing is if alot of people get into this we may be able to get a class action lawsuit against this company.
