I received a phone bill yesterday stating that I owe 89.70 for collect calls the number it was billed to is not my phone number and I don't recognize the numbers that were connected from the bill was sent in my previous married name I just want to clear this up thankyou Tammy McKenna

    qtbill.com appears to handle billing for companies providing "collect" calls charged to third party phone numbers.  They have a number of complaints against them for billing the wrong person, whether due do sloppy security in setting up unauthorized accounts under other people's names, or due to sending collection bills to the wrong people when someone sets up an account and they can't locate them.

    If you know you never made such a call, and the phone numbers associated with it are not yours or anyone you called, and the name isn't even one you currently use, most likely they are acting as a debt collector attempting to skip trace someone with a similar name to your previous married name.

    Treat them as a debt collector, required to follow the FDCPA.  Send a letter, certified return receipt requested (keep a copy), indicating that you dispute this debt, that this is not your bill, you did not open this account or make these charges, and that you are requesting full validation and proof of the debt from the original creditor.  Indicate that this is both an FCC telecom dispute of an apparent fraudulent charge, and a validation request under FDCPA, that it is inconvenient for them to contact you by phone, and that under FDCPA they cannot engage in collection activity until they have provided you with proper validation and proof of the debt.

    If they engage in any further collection activity, file complaints with FTC, FCC, and your state AG.  If you find erroneous negative account information on your credit reports, dispute the errors through the credit reporting agencies, and if they "verify" erroneous information, file additional FTC and AG complaints and seek out a competent consumer law attorney.

    I am replying to this as I have previously emailed you twice at the service address.  I am hoping you will acknowledge this response, although I have my doubts.  You claim you are a legitimate company.  If so what is your patent application number?

    I have been receiving up to 70 calls a day for the last week from a computer telling me I have won a holiday... I have asked them to stop, to no avail. I was asked by one operator for credit card details to allow him to stop the calls, but I refused. He then said that he had enough info on me, and would be charging me £397 for the holiday. I have cancelled my credit cards, alerted my bank, and have informed the police, who didn,t want to know! I asked my server Tiscali, to block all calls that dont have a return phone number, but it still hasn't happened yet. I have already registered with Telephone Preference Service, but that takes 28 days!

    There are boxes available that you can insert between your incoming phone line and your phones that require the caller to punch in a code to actually ring through.  Since autodialers cannot understand your message and punch in the code, they will fail to get through.  If your harassing call level is at 70 per day, you might either change your phone number, or try one of these boxes to end the harassment.

    There are several companies making such boxes.

    I am replying for the fifth time on your "Customer Service" address with no response whatsoever.  The telephone number you are calling every hour on the hour is not the person responsible for payment of this bill.  The last phone call from one of your "representatives" was so rude I should call my attorney and let hime hear the threating message which I know is illegal at the least. Another issue is the number you keep calling which is a total of no less than 40 calls you use the minutes on that phone number each and every time which costs that person money.  We should sue you for that persons distress and inconvenience caused by your company.
     
    The correct telephone number is 951-973-2451 not 951-973-2452.  As I read the above complaints from other people it sounds to me that your company needs a complete customer service training program.
    Another note of information to your so called "representatives" a good percentage of the people who are forced to use your service are or have been suicidal and were placed in a mental hospital as myself so if I were you I would really be treading very lightly when leaving messages it could cause a mental breakdown and suicidal tendancies which you could be sued for.

    I have a complaint about how much yall charge for a collect call. Yall need to let the caller know how much the call will cost ,to the one making the call instead of the one reciving the call. If I knew it would cost be 14.95 for a minute I would have just drove home,would have been cheaper.I'm telling everyone I know to make sure they don't use a pay phone at wal-mart or yall service.

    Katie my understanding we are being asked from the long distance company to help set up accounts with those calls who are normally making a collect call to non traditional phones. In this tradition since the party calling is not paying they have normally are not been quoted the charges. However since the person receiving the call is being asked to pay for the call that who is being quoted the charges and setting up the account. From what we are told this follows normal collect call process.
    I hope that helps and will pass concern along to our merchants.

    HELLO, my name is djuana taylor, and i'm constantly getting an invoice from you all stating that i owe you a pass do amount. i've never put in for your service or never talked to anyone regarding this matter. everytime i try calling you all it's always your message service. i really need to talk to you please contact me back at 773) 863-5054 and my phone does not accept collect calls. i found out that some people can get your number by calling different numbers in jail. and then run with it. running other bills up. you really need to check into that and find out whats really going on. because you really need to remove my phone number from your list as soon as possible because i did not order your services.thank you djuana taylor.

    i djuana taylor is writting this message back to you stating that i'm not aware of those area codes and please bill those numbers back and i will like to take farther steps helping you put these people in jail using other information. please clear this matter up off of me i don't know whats going on at this point. put a block where they cannot receive anymore calls through my phoneb line i'm all the way in chicago. get those people locked up i wish i knew who it is. because i would.

    I'M asking you to please block my number from your company at once.because i'm not paying for anyone else calls. bill those calls back to the numbers and area codes on that bill 919 area codes and the other area codes that apply to my home nuber for free calls thats what i call them.
