Have received calls on both my home and cell phone, both of which are listed on the do not call register.  Pushed one to speak with someone and learned name of company is "Carpet Care Specialist".  No such company listed.  I asked person why they are calling when I'm on DNC list and they hung up.
Filed complaints for both of my phones on the DNC web site: https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I've looked up this number and found out that I'm not alone!

Before I found this site, I went ahead and booked an appointment for 2/24/09 with Liberty Carpet Care (818-501-4401) for my elderly neighbor.  I specifically scheduled a time when I could be there to supervise and for my neighbor's protection, and their technician showed up more than an hour early, while I was not there and my neighbor was alone.  She went ahead and let him in and he began working on the carpet.  Then she called me at work and told me he was already there working, and I reminded her that was not the agreement and that she should have made him wait until I got there, but it was too late now for me to give him any instruction or to check his work.  I gave her my credit card number over the phone and insisted that she use it to pay for the work and that she was absolutely NOT to pay it with her own money.  I had to get back to work and hung up (pissed).  Later, she told me that he charged her $70, which was nearly twice the phone quote!!!  She said he showed her a rate chart from his truck which said $19/room, and that he used "Chemicals" on the carpet, which was NOT what I was quoted from their telemarketer.  I was quoted $15 only and not informed there would be extra costs for any so-called "special treatments".  She paid the $70 with her personal check because the tech told her there would be a 5% surcharge to my CC and she wanted to save me the extra money.  I made her stop payment on the check immediately before they could cash it because she had been overcharged.  Then I called and left two nasty phone messages at the number on the "invoice" (866-423-0191), which had no address but the name "Liberty Carpet Care" on it.  They didn't return my call until today, 3/3/09, stating that the check "bounced" and they would charge an additional $15 for the bank fees.  I said that the check was stopped because we were overcharged, and that I had left two phone messages for them on 2/24/09 stating such, and we would not be held responsible for their stupidity in trying to cash it.  They should have called me back then to settle it instead of waiting more than a week to try to con me out of more money.  I said would only pay the original $45 agreed upon at $15 each for two small bedrooms and a long hallway that counted as a room, and we'll call it square.  They threatened me with small claims court if I did not pay the full $85 they were charging.  I told them I was sending the $45 originally agreed and that I would document all that happened for court evidence and hung up on them.  I asked the guy for the address where to send the check:  "Liberty Home Care, 6308 Tampa Ave. Suite #350, Tarzana, CA  91356.  Buyer beware!!! DO NOT accept those unsolicited phone offers for carpet cleaning or any other service if you did not call them first!  It's a scam!

I just finished reading this string and I got a similar story. My phone # is also on the DNC and I keep receiving calls regarding carpet cleaning. I left a message after the recording and got a callback about an hour later. I actually told the guy I was busy (similar to Greg earlier) and got a phone # and a company name "liberty carpet". Plan to file a complain with the FCC, but don't have much faith it'll make much difference.

I'm getting them every other week,  I'm also on the DNC list.  I pressed the number to talk to a rep.  I faked interest in making an appointment.  I asked the name of the company- was told Liberty Carpets.  I asked where they were located- was told Van Nuys.  I told her something came up and would have to call her back.  She gave me 800-935-6088.  I tried later- an AT&T recorded message come on asking you for an access code to complete the call.  I might try some of the phone numbers in the preceding comments to see if I can learn more about them.  I do like the idea about sending them to an abandoned or foreclosed property.

I have received robo calls with the same recorded message "How would you like to get your carpets clean for just $15 a room?" on an average of 3 per week for the past year.  At first there was a number that appeared on the caller ID and I traced it to Liberty Carpets.  I called them, told them I was on the "Do Not Call list" and to remove my number.  The calls continued so I reported them to DNC.  Still the calls continue with the same recorded message, only the caller ID says "anonymous".  Their recorded message never idenifies the company.  I often work graveyard shift so have had to turn off the bell on my phone.

These [***] have been leaving messages week after week after week.  No name, no phone number, nothing.  Just a promise of $15 a room cleaning which you know will be a total scam if they actually showed up.  Next time I'm home I'm going to pick up and send them to the police department to clean their carpets.  They used to be stupid enough to leave their number unblocked which made reporting them easy.  Now they've blocked all numbers and the old numbers listed here are disconnected.  If anyone gets a new number PLEASE post it.  I want to end this stupid, pointless harassment by these stupid, pointless morons.   Yeah, pissing people off is really going to drive business to you.  Idiots!

I receive calls from company about twice a week.  I have been (since its origin) on the "do not call list" and I've asked to be put on THEIR "do not call list," to no avail.  By pressing one and leaving my phone number, I was able to get their phone number as 800-880-2715.  I have reported them to FCC, who informs me that they only take action after they receive hundreds of complaints.  The company's phone calls are probably actionable, but one needs to know who and where to serve court papers!

I'm not sure if this is the same one or if there are several, but I got the calls from Liberty Carpet Cleaning / Liberty Home Care (800-880-2715).  Their offer was to clean any carpet for $15 per room with truck mounted cleaning equipment.  When the guy arrived, he was unshaven & very sloppy.  He only had a portable unit.  He offered to do a test area & show me the difference between the "Basic Cleaning" & the "Pre Conditioning Deep Clean".  When he did the basic he only used water & did a light vacuum.  When he did the Deep clean, he sprayed some chemical & really worked at getting the carpet clean.  The price difference for 2 rooms was $30 for basic & $180 for deep clean.  I chose to stay with the basic.  When he did the rooms, he was done in no time & it looked like he hadn't even touched them.  The deep cleaned spot looked clean for a bit, but a day later when the carpet was dry, it was unnoticeable the spot where he "cleaned".  These folks are complete Rip Offs.

I called Liberty Carpet Care at 800 880 2715 for a refund on 6/6/2009, because the carpet was not cleaned as promised. I was told they would get back to me.  I waited until 6/12 and called again for a refund.  They refused to refund my money.  I explained that the carpet was not cleaned & they still refused.
I began with reporting them to the Do Not Call Registry, because that is where the problem began.  Then I went to went to the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk website (http://www.lavote.net/CLERK/FBN_Results.cfm) & searched for Liberty Carpet Care & found 3 results which I will use to pursue this.  They do not have an address listed, but on the back of my cancelled check it clearly showed that it was deposited to Wells Fargo Bank, Account #8504510291 by Liberty Carpet Care.  They are not members of the Better Business Bureau (obviously), but complaints also can be filed with The County Consumer Affairs Department, located on the web at http://consumer-affairs.co.la.ca.us too.  If enough take action, this poor business will be eliminated.  I plan to continue to pursue this & expect to involve media to warn others of this bunch.

Someone put these guys out of business.  I am in the Bay Area and receive calls from these guys regularly.  They have a private caller on Caller ID and when I ask Company Name they give a generic "ahhhhhh Carpet Care" then I ask the city they are located and they hang up!  I am sickened by the postings on this site in which people took the cleaning bait and were robbed with prices and poor cleaning.  This place should be on 48 hours or 20/20 to get some serious awareness and press brutality!

Got the same robocalls weekly -- mostly getting to the answering machine. When I happened to pick up the phone with them life and either asked to get removed from the calling list or asked to get their legal business name and address, the person, "Monica" or "Daisy", would hang up. Eventually decided to track them by scheduling an appointment. When the cleaner arrived, gave him a printout of all the various regulations they are in violation of, and asked to pass it on to his employer. 3 weeks later they called again! I then scheduled another appointment. A different cleaner arrived today, and was obviously upset that he would not get paid, sob story and all. If he were an hourly, he would get paid anyway; if he owns his business -- too bad, he should get his leads from a different place.

I called the company afterwards -- this time they asked for the appointment details so they could remove me from their calling list, this time hopefully for real.
1st appointment: "Liberty Carpet", Daisy @800-880-2715
2nd appointment: "California Carpet Cleaning" @800-880-2715 (yes, the same number)
Follow-up call to 1-877-270-2921. This was the number they gave when they re-scheduled the appointment).
