I am writing this out of shear frustration, I'm hoping that by sharing my experience with others I may find some measure of comfort.

Over the past 6 years my husband and I have been restoring our home to a level of quality we have worked our entire lives to afford. Little by little, from room to room we have had extensive work performed.

We were nearing the end of our restoration when we started to notice a leak  in our living room just next to a skylight.

We called Deegan Roofing Company Inc. of Plainfield NJ to do the work and we were met at out home by the owner where we agreed on a price and signed a contract.

It took them 3 months to show up to do the work after we were told they would be there in 2 weeks. When the Deegan Roofing Company came to perform the work they absolutely trashed our lawn and our shrubs. They left a large amount of debris on our property (which we had to clean ourselves) and it took them 3 weeks to remove a dumpster from our driveway. To top it all off, the roof leaks more then it did before any work was performed. Deegan Roofing Company Inc will no longer return our calls now that they have the check. We had to pay $3000.00 to fix the leaks on our newly installed roof.

I am absolutly livid and disappointed with the poor treatment we received from Deegan Roofing.
To say that I DO NOT recommend them is an understatement.

I feel much better now... thank you for allowing me to vent my frustrations.

    needed a new roof and gutters after the snow storm in oct..called deegan,michael palermo and home depot..i went with michael palermo due to his personal attention to details and doing 1 job at a time (my roof of 2700square feet only took 1 day..he is not the low baller in price but he is very concious of he work from the minute he starts until it is done..im glad i made a great choice,i hope all that read this do too..

    i wanted new siding on my home in scotchplains,called 2 previous mentioned companies,1 was soo expensive it was highway robbery,the other seems to have decided that he does roofing so cheap that he started to try to do siding,i noticed he really didnt know much about siding,,i called michael palermo llc..right away i noticed his attention to details and it was easy to see he is a quality 2nd generation contractor,,he took the time to help me pic colors anmd answered every question,,id recommend his co to anyone,,

    I used to live in Scotch Plains and had Deegan Roofing do my roof and was satisfied with the service.  Upon moving to Flemington, I had Chris Deegan from Deegan Brothers in Hunterdon County give us an estimate for the roof and siding replacement.  I can only say from the first call to the office to the completion of the job it was a most pleasant experience.  I would happily volunteer as a reference for them.  Their signs are everywhere, assuming lots of satisfied customers!

    Had Deegan repair a leak on my roof 2 yrs ago. Sent a subcontractor to do the job. Still have the leak but never returned my calls.

    Another poster mentioned that Deegan told them that they do not do work in the rain.  What a lie.  I wish they did not put my roof on in the rain.  I had a wake the day they put on my new roofing and when I was leaving the house in the morning, I told the job manager that I thought it was not a good idea to do the work today because the forecast predicted Thunderstorms.  It was lightly starting to rain.  They told me they do work in the rain all the time and it was not predicted to rain all day and they tarp and it is not a problem.  It was not just lightly raining as they were working during the day and from what I have been reading on the internet, I am very worried about the plywood getting wet and if the roof will last.  It was not just lightly raining that day either.  When I arrived home from the wake there was another job manager there and there was exposed plywood.  You spend a lot of money on doing a roof and for another poster to have to get their roof redone is terrible.  We do not have the money to be redoing something that should have been done correctly in the first place.  I hope I will not have to redo the roof in the future because of their need to not lose a days work because of rain.  We had a problem with ants because of a roof leak in the past had to have that taken care of and repaired in the past and I also mentioned that to the job manager before they started.  I am so angry that they even come to do the work when they know it is going to rain.  Now I have to worry.  WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM.

    There are in deed two Deegan Roofing companies.  We reside in Warren County, NJ and used the Deegan Brothers Roofing Company for our roof and siding replacement.  We dealt directly with Chris
    Deegan and are most satisfied with our new roof and siding and would glady recommend them.

    I'm so freaking confused by the reviews... can anyone let me know if the Deegan on Terill Rd is really trust worthy? and Also anyone else I could call around Scotch Plains?

      dont use the one on Terril rd they do not do what they say and defraud there customers i got taken by them and they laughed in my face

        There are only two offices. One in Phillipsburg and one in Scotch Plains. Both are huge fraud flags waving in your face. Buyers beware and look elsewhere

    don't call palermo - i just called and he wants to charge $75.00 for an "insurance estimate" - but he has listed on his web site "FREE ESTIMATES"

    to any one that thinks deegan roofing in plainfield is good you better watch out they did my roof 7 years ago and i thought i had gotten a good job until we had this storm recently. I found out that i paid them to do a complete tear off and they left all the roofing 3 layers of it around my entire roof i CALLED THEM BACK TO SHOW THEM WHAT THEY DID AND THEY JUST LAUGHED IN MY FACE THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY GOOD FOR A YEAR. If THEY HAD DONE THERE JOB CORRECTLY I WOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY ROOF NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT IT HAS TO BE ALL TAKEN OFF AND REDONE AGAIN. i HIRED AN INSPECTOR TO INSPECT THE ROOF AND HE FOUND SEVERAL FLAWS IN THERE WORK. Deegan hides there wrong doings and you might never know about it you need to be very careful with them they also never put new plywood down and the planking that is up there has several big holes and also should have been replaced according to the report of my inspector i would never recommend this company and Brien sends his workers out instead of coming out and seeing the bad jobs his workers do

    I had my roof done by Deegan Roofing on Terrill Road in Scotch Plains almost 10 years ago and I was happy with them.  A short time after my roof was replaced I did have a small leak around the chimney flashing which they fixed immediately.  My roof has been fine since and stayed intact during Hurricane Sandy.

    I have been a past customer of Deegan's, but I signed a contract with them in November and it is now March and he has been giving me every excuse in the book for not coming.  He ran to do my roof when he wasn't busy, but now that he is, he is putting me at the end of the list.  I am so frustrated an he really is rude and crude and just totally dismissed me.  He actually made a date to do the work and then didn't show up.  I know he is competent but he treats the customer like crap.

    They have restored  my faith!  Had this roof done in 2004. They stand by their work and will fix my issue...leak in chimney area.  The call backs are quick!

    Well....it took a few phone calls. But they DID come back and redid the chimney area repair. Thanks to Laura  in the office !!!!! I would recommend them to people. I have gotten good feedback on their honesty.

    Deegan is borderline harrasment on a $400 job it’s hasnt been 30 days past due. Constantly calling and never had a business show up at my door. The job was December 12, 2017 and it’s just January 4, 2018. Collection agency don’t do this. I pay my debts, you would think it’s been 6 months. Would never recommend Deegan!!!

      Unfortunately this is the style of the Deegan Brothers way of business. They take no pride in their loyalty of customers, they only take the money and run. Check out how many law suits they have against them

    This company is an embarrassment to the roofing industry. They are known for not following through with their work. The amount of lawsuits against them speaks for their business and what they stand for
