I think this is funny. Want to discuss my account. I am not with Chase. Never have been. In 2006, I cut up and paid off all of my cards and have used my debit card for everything since. BYE BYE scammers, not falling for it.

    TL/DR: IT’S A SCAM!

Details: Got a call from 1-800-945-2000. Caller ID said “Chase Card Services”. I’ve been getting calls from them for the past few months, so I finally answered.

It was a robotic recording saying to press 1 to lower my Visa card interest rates or my account would be closed. It made no sense, but I pressed 1 anyway (1st red flag).

Then I got some Indian [***] on the line (2nd red flag). He said he could see that my interest rate was over 10% and he could lower it to possibly less than 5% forever (3rd red flag). I asked which credit card was he talking about. He said he could lower it for all (4th red flag).

Uh ... that makes no sense, [***]. So I asked again which one specifically he was calling about. He said, “We deal with all kinds ... Visa, Master Card ...” (5th red flag).

I again asked which one he was calling about. He asked how many I had (6th red flag). I said I didn’t know. He asked which one had the highest balance (7th red flag). I said I didn’t know. He told me to go get them (8th red flag).

I told him that it was pointless for me to go get them because I wouldn’t be able to tell which one had the highest balance by looking at the dumb piece of plastic.

The [***] hung up on me (final red flag).

    THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!

I have this number blocked on my phone. they had stopped for several months; now I'm getting them 6 -7 per week. My phone doesn't put it through. (1 ring only) then it's blocked.
There are so many scams out there that I now answer the phone saying..."Sheriff's Department - Fraud Division"...
Amazing how fast they hang up now.... I have a log of numbers that are scams.... They also now are using people's names and numbers. I got a call from Me to me with my own landline number.... I said she died.... they haven't used my number or called again....

Wanted to lower my rates on my Weesa card. Said I didn't have one. Said he could lower the interest rate on Mastercard. Said I didn't have one. Said he could lower the interest rate on American Express card. Said I didn't have one. Did the same for every card he mentioned. Finally asked what kind of card I had. I told him "Library". Then I had to explain to him what a Library card was. He wanted to know how much I owed. I told him I owed $1.43 for three overdo books. He finally hung up.

Yeah, it's a scam. I keep 2 fake card numbers written down right by the phone. I have to go get the cards ,turn on a light, then the bulb goes our, then i replace it, and give false info to the [***] and harrass him till he hangs up.

When they call, do like I do.  Yell "what do you want" or even better (the one I love the most) blow a whistle in their ear.  You have to be sure you have a live idiot on the other end in order to blow the whistle.  Have fun!!!!!
