Well, I'm glad I ran across this. I posted my number on careereagle too, because I was looking for a job. I should have known they'd give me number out! I've been getting calls from the same number about four times a day. Whenever I pick up, no one says anything, so I just hang up.
From now on i'm just going to ignore them.

I just searched for a job at Ford Motor Co. on careereagle also and within 10 minutes I got a call from this number, but I did not answer it.  I had also applied for jobs on Aerotek.com so I'm wondering if it was a job offer or something to do with the careereagle website.  I saw careereagle from a previous post and saw that as a common factor.  I did check the box to NOT be contacted, however.

Have received multiple calls today  from 718-542-7472 Felix Ceballos.  I finally answered it and it was a male asking for me by name (my phone number is unlisted but may still be out there somewhere) and I told him "Diane is not here" he said to let her know that "Richard" from "Education Source" called. When I asked for a number, he said he was calling from a call center. Weird.  Looked the number up online and found this.  Must be some scam with all the comments I am finding. Just ignore this number if he calls you!

My friend has been getting calls from this number and when she tries to call back it's disconnected. It comes up as Felix and once there was a message left on her voicemail that sounded like someone sobbing. This is so weird.

    What?
Been recieving calls from this number a lot lately.  Tried to call back and there is no answer.  I answered it the other day and they had my name right.  I could barely hear her, as I was at work.  She finally hung up.  I feel as if I should report this, but don't know to who.

    Keep it Simple
If your phone - land line or cell allow you to set up special ring tone for specific numbers ...
i.e. you store your Mom's number in the speed dial directory with a special
ring tone so when she calls you know it is Mom.

When you get crank calls save the number + set the ring tone to "no ring"
I label these calls in my cell directory as Pest.
Each name allows five numbers per name, I started
with Pest1 and up to Pest7

    problem solved

    What am I missing??

I get calls from this number also. I believe they got my information when I was searching for college information on the internet. But, nobody is on the phone when I answer. After seeing all these posts...and realizing this has been going on for so long...I don't get how these people are benefiting from these calls. What can they possibly get from calling our numbers but not talking to us when we answer? Plus, they seem to keep calling even though some of us choose not to answer the calls. And other times, they do speak to us, but are very rude. I just don't get it. What are they getting out of making these calls?  What am I missing?

They only get paid when they pitch a live person, but it costs them NOTHING to call you, so they really don't care if their robodialers call you 20 times a day.

Problem is, their "clients" are probably as sleazy as they are.

Telemarketing is DEAD.  It was killed by the fraudulent slamming of the telecoms themselves as they raided eachother's customers, resulting in the Do Not Call laws.  Currently, over half of all consumers are signed up for Do Not Call.

So the only ones still cold calling are crooks, set up to hide their identities so they don't get caught for not scrubbing their call lists.  Since they are mostly selling fraud, and already hiding behind overseas call centers, what do they care about Do Not Call violations, robocall harassment violations, illegal autodialing of cell phones, etc.  Their doing a lot worse than that, engaged in fraud and bank theft.

What supports the whole fraudulent system is that VISA and MasterCard are processing charges for fraudulent schemes, even though their complaint statistics should be showing which "merchants" are engaged in consumer fraud.  They may have cut off the "acai berry" or "teeth whitener" scammers, but they continue to allow their customers to be defrauded through their payment systems, for "interest rate reduction" scams, "government grant" scams, etc.

And yes, "rudeness" is a deliberate part of fraud.  Abuse and harassment is a tactic to intimidate, to threaten and coerce you into allowing them to just take and keep your money, once they get it.  They do it because it works, and it always shows up in connection with fraudulent telemarketing, since otherwise consumers would just yank their money back through a bank dispute.

Abuse and intimidation, to the point of fear, is the necessary step to keep the money obtained through fraud.  This is a form of "strong arm robbery", only over the phone.
