My membership got transfered from Bally to Blast and I never was informed, since I didn't care for Blast I asked for a refund of my membership and this has been such a task!!
Bally's states that my membership is no longer with them and I have to call Blast, Blast tells me that Bally's charged me and I have to call them???. So far I have no moneys from either one of the clubs, I even was told by Blast that I have to go to a Bally's club to cancel again (I'm in Tx and bally's is in CA). I wonder if anyone knows how to go about it or how to sue both of this places??
or maybe I'll just take a plane ride to try to get my $181.86 and enjoy the nice CA weather!!!

My husband and I were members of Bally's since 1987!! Our Bally's was taken over by Blast Fitness for 5 mos and then closed down our Sugar Land location 9/30/2012! In the process of cancelling our memberships here...NEVER get replies I send to BLAST FITNESS emails explaining the gym they want me to attend is in the middle of GANG violence area and will NOT got there (Sharpstown area). Hope I can cancel easier than what I see people here. Blast Fitness are crooks for sure!!

Blast signed me up for a membership and took the first and last months payments on 1/8/2015.  On 1/9/2015 the doors to the gym were LOCKED with a sign on the door saying they were being evicted for non payment of their rent.  By 1/12/2015 the doors were unlocked so I utilized my membership for about 3 weeks before I went to the gym on a Thursday night and the doors were LOCKED again!!!  This time the doors remained locked all weekend.  Finally on the following Thursday I went by the gym and the lights were ON.  I stopped in for a workout but when I walked in, the rep was from Gold's Gym.  I was told the Blast Gym went out of business but that they would honor my Blast Membership at Gold's Gym which is 15 minutes further away than Blast is from my home and work.  ( I work out on my lunch break so I would end up driving 30 min to the gym and 30 min back to work and NOT get any working out accomplished if I were to drive ALL THE WAY THERE ) So the desk clerk told me to call this 888 827 9262 to cancel my membership.  When I did the rep says that she will not cancel my membership until I pay a 54 dollar cancellation FEE.  Blast sold me a membership KNOWING they were going out of business ( THE DOORS WERE LOCKED THE NEXT DAY ) and then they made me pay 2 months down which was 50 bucks....3 weeks later they LOCK THE DOORS AND CLOSE SHOP and tell me that they will keep running my ACH drafts until I pay them a cancellation fee.  I am VERY interested in a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT if anyone else is....

I only realized I was with Blast when we cancelled a credit card, and Blast sent a notice that our credit card was not able to charge me the annual dues in Feb 2015.  I guess we are lucky to have saved that charge.  But my last contract in 2010 was for 3 years at Ballys for $550, and 2 years into the contract, they shut the doors.  So I just walked away from the gym with no refund for the last year of my contract, and now, after looking back, I see that Blast came in &  charged me annual dues  in 2013 and 2014, and I had no idea was a member, or that they could charge my card like that.  I would not have joined because I only signed with Ballys for the indoor running track, plus no Blast was around my area anyhow.   How could I be a member?  My last contract was with Bally's, and it expired in Feb 2013?  Its fraud in my opinion.

I am having problems getting 3 years of charges $800.00 taken off my credit card. I have never signed any documents or even been in a Blast facility, I was a member of Bally's since mid-80's. I only renewed annually but was not an automatic renewal.  this is Fraud and Scam I hope the FTC get involved. I am in discussion with my credit card company about this so any additional information would be appreciated

As above, my original contract in 2010 was for 3 years at Ballys for $550, and 2 years into the contract, they shut the doors.  I just ate the rest with no refund for anything. Then this "Blast" (never heard of them or from them) - only with a "Collection phone message" they charged me dues for 2013 and 2014, and I too had no idea was a member, or that they could charge my card like that (WHO ARE THESE GUYS???).  I would not have joined because I only signed with Ballys - PERIOD. There is NO Blast in my area and I never heard of these clowns anyway!!! My last LEGAL contract was with Bally's. Its fraud, ABSLOUTELY - and I will GLADLY join a Class-Action Lawsuit against these "SNAKE-OIL  Salesmen and FRAUDSTERS" !!!!

BY THE WAY... MY "AGREEMENT" WITH BALLY'S WAS PAID IN FULL - WITH NO STIPULATIONS FOR "AUTOMATIC RENEWAL" - I'm still pissed because some syshter-clown collections agency is STILL trying to make me pay MORE - Hell No!!!!

    Contact the Texas AG..
Balleys settled with the Texas AG several years ago over sending out "delinquent renewal" notices to former members who had not renewed.  The Texas AG might be interested if their successor is playing fraudulent charging games with inherited "customer" lists.

I am very disappointed to have to join this conversation. I was a lifetime member of Balleys pre construction location at hyw6 and i10. they moved to barker cypress then sold to blast. i did go to the Blast a few times last year at barker cypress. I have since moved to Conroe not thinking about the membership. it was an annual Ballys contract. I never signed a new agreement with Blast. I just showed up one day after they took over and they said they would honor my ballys membership and gave me a new card. Then I moved to conroe. yesterday I got a phone call from abc financial telling me I owed money on a golds membership. there is one in conroe but I dont want it. I have an exercise facility in my neighborhood.now I am concerned that someone said they wont allow cancellation if you have a club in your area. how do you divorce a 1980 balleys turned blast turned golds health club relationship. sounds like a divorce is an easier thing to do. how can that be? It is a service and I should be able to stop when I want and pay to that point perhaps. it sounds like this ABC financial company is a fatal attraction relationship that I am going to regret for a long time. My card is not being charged because it was one of those with a new number after Target but it sounds like they can still get me and continue to compound fees and maybe report me to credit bureau. I am not looking forward to this but thanks to all of your stories to make me understand that I should get some CYA documentation of an attempt to cancel. how can they call my ballys membership a blast membership and then a golds gym membership without my consent. i dont remember signing at the blast barker cypress location. i think they just issued me a new card only. I will check back and join a class action if there is one, call the attorney general and complain to the BBB and try to go to the gold gym here and start some documentation. geez i dont have time for this #$%^

did any of you get a new contract when blast took over ballys at barker cypress? I dont remember. I think i just got a new card issued. OMG this is going to be a mess. I am so alarmed at reading one state that said you have a right to cancel if you move 50 miles away from a club location - who drives 50 miles one way to work out? Who drives even 10?
