So I had purchased the 3 year warranty for my car a few months ago. My ABS lights on the dash came on. Took the car to a mechanic and parts and labor around $700.00. Send a claim into DBW 2 days later after being on hold for over 25 minutes they denied my claim. They stated wear and tear and my negligence caused the problem. My mechanic called DBW and explained not the drivers fault and the part wore out. DBW refused to pay the amount and never paid for my rental car. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. BUYER BEWARE. They will take your money but will come up with a lousy excuse to avoid paying the bill.

This company is a fraud. Everything I read, I see over and over. I am now waiting to get my car fixed, it has been in the shop for about a month. I try to call and wait for ever, when I talk to someone the only answers I get are its under review, we need your records, its denied. My car needs trans work so they asked for my maintance records so I faxed them my trans maint records and oil changes, Then the wanted my 50,000 mile maint so I faxed that, tey never recieved it so I refaxed it now they want all my maint records I bought a warranty for my mint 2002 caddy. They gladly sold me the warranty but when I need it Direct Buy has every reason not to cover it. I have asked to talk to a manager but I never get one. I am looking to join or start a class action law suit against Direct Buy Warranty.

I too am having the same issue with DBW. They are making every excuse to avoid covering any repairs. I have filed a claim with the better business bureau. They are definitely a fraudulent company with their business practices.

I'm with you, I had a transmission problem in which they said the same thing to me that it was do to my negligence that the tranny went out. They said it was the gear set that caused the tranny to go out and the gear set is NOT part of the tranny!?! It's all one part ! Who has ever heard of that ? Have you tried arbitration ? I'm about to.

I've just experienced the same basic story.  Bought the warranty approximately 3 months ago. My car started to get warm in traffic and so I took it to a shop who said the supplimental fan needed replacing.  Directbuy warranty denied the claim because they determined that I had neglected to vehicle. This determnation was made without them seeing the vehicle or returning the calls from my machanic. I tried to speak to a supervisor and after an extended hold period was informed that no supervisors were available. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM !!!  I am onboard if anyone would like to file a class-action lawsuit. I can be contacted at newzealand95825@yahoo.com

I purchased this warranty  1  yr ago  i brought my car in the  shop  because  my sensor  in the  seat  shorted out and  my power sterring also   developed problems. They rejected both clIMS AND SAID  IT WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE they failed due to wear and tear     whata joke.  No one  could rexplain  called in  3  times  got  3  different answers    no matter  how  good  this  sounds   it is  a  RIP OFF     beware

I just experienced a problem also and would like to be involved in the class action suit.  I purchased my contract in May 2011.  My check engine light went on and it happened to be a transmission problem.  It turns out it need to be rebuilt.  They told me that it was pre-existing. THey wouldn' let me speak to a supervisor.  They said to file a dispute.  I'm doing that now.  Now that the transmission place has the car apart I have to pay $2200 that I don't have.  My car will be at the shop for a couple of weeks because I don't have the money.  I have to rent a car that's a piece of crap and now it's costing me more money!  I can be reached at charl02355@yahoo.com  Thanks.

Im going through the same deal. Car tranny went out . Filed the claim,
they called me a few days later saying that it was denied due to a service bullenting recall that the maker of the car sent out for my year and model.
I called my dealer and the corporate office and they both stated that my cars VIN number did NOT have any service recall.
I told direct buy this info and told them that they could call them themselves or do a conference call. They refused to make any call and said that they needed something in writing. Im afraid that I will provide them with that paperwork and they will try to weasel their way out of it..

Count me in!  I paid my policy in full at the time of purchase.  Tehy replaced the fuel pump (sent OEM art to shop).  The fuel pump failed six motnhs later.  When the shop called to discuss the claim they said I had canceled my policy.  I did not cancel, was not told it had been canceled, have not received any money or forms and am still fighting them on this.
