So I had purchased the 3 year warranty for my car a few months ago. My ABS lights on the dash came on. Took the car to a mechanic and parts and labor around $700.00. Send a claim into DBW 2 days later after being on hold for over 25 minutes they denied my claim. They stated wear and tear and my negligence caused the problem. My mechanic called DBW and explained not the drivers fault and the part wore out. DBW refused to pay the amount and never paid for my rental car. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. BUYER BEWARE. They will take your money but will come up with a lousy excuse to avoid paying the bill.

I just filed a claim because the transmission gasket failed. They said there was a service bulletin on the seal. It's a darn seal. My cell is 619-840-9226

I cancelled yesterday and my money was credited back to my cc. Luckily I had a claim a month after bought so I got most of it back. They wouldn't cover my gasket and it specifically said gaskets and seals. A service bulletin just explains to the mechanics how to fix something if it goes wrong, not that there is a defect in the part. Anyway, my service rep at Mercedes told me I should cancel because there are numerous service bulletins on various parts. I'm not losing my money over their scandalous business practices.

Damn I just purchased a warranty with them today. It does sound too good to be true but after reading all these post I'm going to cancel mine. Not worth the headache and phone calls.

My VSC # is 443340 I purchased a Platinum Elite package in March on 2011 for a 2001 Mercedes BEZ S600. @ 74000 Miles on the Car. With FULL MAINTANCE RECORD OR EVERY OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE PERFORMED ON HAND> 1 year and 3 months and at 88000 miles  I notice Smoke coming out of my undercarege and the front of the Engine. I stopped and had called the tow truck and had the car sent to Mercedes Benz of Naperville, In ILLINOIS. After the Diagnosis, they found out the OIL COOLER HOUSING, is defective, hence leaking OIL, also found that universal Disc needs to be replaced, Cable wiring, 2 engine mounds, 2 strut bushings, Left front Lower ball joint, Truck hydraulic pump, and truck lace needs to be repaired or replaced. Truck Latch and 2 strut front bushings are not covered in the Plan. But everything else is.  The Mechanics and service advisors have submitted the WO to DirectBuyautowarranty. 3 days later the warranty company calls me back and says that they said that due to neglect they will not cover any of my claims.SAM SMITH OR SAM EDWARDS Mentioned that wear and tear is not covered. OIL cooler housing is not a wear and tear item. The only wear and tear items are Truck latch and 2 strut busing... SAM EDWARD would not transfer my call to any one and mentioned it stops at him. They will not cover any thing. Due to me not taking action on these issues. I am not a mechanic; I take my car in the dealership every time for Service A and B and depend on them for the diagnosis, once they tell me I FIX the problem. I have all the previous repaired records of all the service work that I performed and what the factory warranty covered. SAM EDWARD “Fake NAME" Denied that they have an office outside of USA. There corp. office is in CYPRUS. He told me that he does not know what I am talking about. He had no Names to give for Supervisors and kept telling me like I was a fault for all of this. THIS COMPANY IS A [***] SCAM>>>>> IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CA HELP ME WITH THEM PLEASE CONTACT ME @ atif.sidd23@gmail.com. I will be more that happy to take some sort of action against this injustic. ALSO THEY HAVE A Tendency OF CHARGING your account double , which I records for as well. Looking for answers!!

Direct Buy is complete garbage.  Purchased their top end product for a 2006 Porsche Cayenne S.  First claim was on a simple tire rod.   Well they covered just over $161.00 of a nearly $400.00 bill.  Didn't cover the alignment (necessary after a tire rod replacement) only covered a portion of the labor, and diagnosis / inspection they don't cover at all.

I even called to ask one of their reps if an alignment was covered if needed as the result of a repair and they said "YES".....they never paid for it.

And get this, turns out the rack needed fixed as well.  It was causing a bad noise every time a bump was hit and according to a certified mechanic "needs to be replaced".   Guess what...not covered.  According to their agent they only cover parts that have completely failed and as long as the car is driveable they won't cover it.  Here I thought I was being responsible and taking care of an issue before it escalated but no, flat out denied.

ON TOP OF THAT they told me that since I'm now aware of the problem they won't cover it when it does completely fail!  What kind of BS is that?  Am I supposed to play ignorant?  I can just see this hypothetical scenario happening:

Me:  "Yea my motor blew.  I have all maintenance records, service, etc., all up to date and the car was pampered.  Even sung a song to it every night so it felt like part of the family."
DB:  "Are you aware the motor blew?"
Me:  "Um yea, it exploded into a million pieces on the highway just driving normal and I have shrapnel wounds to prove it."
DB:  "Well we don't cover issues you're aware of so claim denied."
    Me:  "Da Fuq?"

Seriously to anyone considering a Direct Buy warranty under no circumstances purchase one.  Even on high end, documented, religiously serviced luxury car they will not cover you!

I was able to cancel and get most of my money back, but they still made a couple hundred off me.  To any Direct Buy goons out there, don't belive it?  VSC#958XXX and look up the car model.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND WHITE COLLAR CRIME!!!.  They need to go down and they will go down.  They will find any reason to deny claims, blame other parts for issues, try and cancel contracts, etc.  Everyone needs to go after them and put them out of business.  I am out of pocket $5500 that should have been covered.

There customer service people change their names all the time when its a tiny little company in a tiny little office.  They make up bold lies that are laughable.  I will never give up on this issue, I was scammed for a lot of money and don't deserve it.  Google cease and desist direct buy warranty.  they are banned from doing business in Washington...I wonder why....

this company is "White collar crime".  little 5 man operation saying they have been around 25+ years.  They are in a office sharing facility in a Regus office sharing group.  Dig around and see for yourself.  They have every sales tactic in the book to get you to sign for a contract and I was fooled.  Several reputable car dealerships have told me that they have never seen anything like this in all of their time.  That I was scammed and to stay away.  Dealers know who is good and who is bad....

we purchased the warranty in july 2012....then in sept 2012 we noticed the transmission started slipping. They said we only drove the car a couple thousand miles and they wanted us to drive it longer.....we were well past their 30 day period...and drove a couple of thousand....they told us that the car should not be having problems at this point since we  bought the warranty 2 months ago.......You dumbasses how can you predict that a car is going to break down and how is my car going to know that i purchased this warranty two months ago....like the car planned this?....what is wrong with you preople?

Direct Buy is a ((((fraudulent company))))

On 5/13/13 I took my car a 2004 Porche Cuyan to get repaired at AMMCO in Inglewood to check on a few problems. Initially I took the car in for air conditioning problems but after further inspection by the technician it was discovered that I had a transmission problem.  AMMCO called and talk with someone from Direct Buy, which is who I have my warranty through.   A representative from Direct Buy contacted AMMCO’s front desk and inquired about their process for doing oil changes on Porche Cuyans.  The front desk gave a general answer in which Direct Buy took, without speaking to an actual technician and called the Porche dealer to find out their procedure, because both the AMMCO and the Porche dealer gave two different answers Direct Buy decided not to pay my claim.

My complaint is that the Direct Buy representative never spoke with an actual technician to find out how they fixed my car, the receptionist gave a general answer of how he thought the oil change was done.  I had an oil change done in March from this Inglewood AMMCO, this is why I felt comfortable taking the car back there once Direct Buy recommended the place for me to get the problem fixed.  Once it was determined that major work was needed, Direct Buy then began questioning the very place they sent me to, in an attempt ( in my opinion ) not to pay my claim.  It would seem to me that the Direct Buy rep. should have made more of an effort to find out how my car was done before deciding not to pay my claim.

I would like for this problem to be resolved as soon as possible resulting in Direct Buy paying for my vehicle to be repaired.  If this is not possible I would like for my money to be returned on my warranty and I will be escalating this matter further.

I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem. I will wait 10 business days before seeking help from a consumer protection agency or the Better Business Bureau. Please contact me at the above address or by phone at 310-780-6515

    Sincerely,

    Angel Campbell

Having issues as well with DBW. Dropped 2004 Jeep off to get motor mount changed. They said coverage is denied on that part as it's a wear and tear part. Also the CV joint on the front driveshaft. If these were wear and tear parts they would be mentioned in the service intervals from the manufacturer. I then proceeded to cancel my warranty only
To find out they'll only refund 500 of my 2400, after just a year and a half of my 5 yr 75k mile warranty. I purchased the platinum elite package also. Covers pretty much everything. I would be interested in filing with anyone else a lawsuit against this company.
Email: zantoy1@aol.com please subject line DBW FRAUD thanks!
