I got a call today at home from a man stating he was a process server for Collin County DA's Office and he is with the Sheriff's office and needed to come serve a warrant on me. I was shocked and asked why? He stated do you live ....are you still at this address are you now at this address and I stated who are you? He again, stated he was from the county going to serve court papers on me today. He gave me a toll free number for what he stated was the county's office which is 1 866.872.6116 gave me a case no. which he called a Cause No. 008307-TX. I called the number was transferred to a Mr. Fisher's office who stated that law suite in the amount of $6,214.24 was filed in Collin Co., Tx and that warrant was out for me. He then after back and forth said let me get more information from my secretary and state this was for an outstanding debt in from Capital One a credit card that I obtained several years back and had disputes over interest charges etc. He stated that if I did not want to go to court or jail that I could pay $1,951.00 in full by end of business today and this matter could be cleared up. I explained that I recently lost my job etc. Anyway, he stated that I needed to call him back by EOB today or they will serve the papers. Ok, so that was a heads up for me. I called the DA's office nothing is filed on me as of today, after searching PMG it is clear that they do not practice best practices for collections and have been in trouble for this before back in 2004. I need someone to give me advise. I want to pay off my debt, I don't want this type of collections to continue this upset me, made my blood pressure raise, this type of collections are not the right thing to do. Had they called and ask to make arrangements or give me an opportunity to clear the matter, rather then threaten me by taken legal action, or harassment stating they are sending a sheriff over today. This is wrong, bad business, and should not continue this company is bad news.

Don't have to give you that benefit of the doubt, however, as there are many reports of attempts to collect on debts determined to be entirely unowed, whether nonexistent, paid, or still owned by the original creditor.
Counterdeception is based on the process of obtaining information from numerous sources to avoid control by an adversary, while mapping out the capabilities of your adversary for engaging in deception, and his practices when engaged in it. From this you can extract the tactical goals.
The existence of the above collection attempts on faked "debt" shows that this adversary has the capability to fake debt, and the willingness to attempt to collect on it.
It also shows the existence of information compartmentalization necessary to maintain the employee illusion that the "debt" is "legitimate", at least with some of the more gullible employees.
The existence of numerous reports of credit inquiries days before threatening and harassing calls about unowed debt suggests that credit report information is being used in this process.
Pulling credit reports to collect on debts that are being faked would not only be impermissible under FCRA, but would be under false pretenses.

You think you can stop us from reading this thread?
You are still being exposed. hahahaha
I can't wait until the debt collectors start calling you.
Unemployment just doesn't pay like stealing. That is if you even qualify.
If DOJ wants to get involved, this case may go beyond FTC's civil suit.
And then there is Experian, willing supplier of credit reports to all of you. How would they like to deal with a class action lawsuit, and what would their response be to all these "debt collector" clients they have in Corona?
You have now put Corona on the map, and from now on, any debt collector connected to Corona will be under suspicion.
Maybe they can appeal their status to the California Labor Board, and get free attorneys hounding Begley and friends on top of the feds.
Criminal charges would arise out of the credit file usage, and be easiest to track through the CRAs. They could just send Experian a subpoena and get names of all files pulled by the front names with this client capability, then easily contact a sampling of those persons to see how the files were used.
All this would be invisible up until the consumers were contacted. At that point some fraction might report FBI contacts in connection with with earlier Corona Scam harassment. FBI would be the fed entity most likely doing criminal investigation.
Maybe it will show up Oct. 24, with the federal hearing.
Google has capabilities similar to what NSA employs from its Black Cube, including the ability to look back in time and find old communications now found to be relevant.
You've known this was a problem from the beginning, hence the use of shills. But the balance has now tipped.
The tools to find you and track you have caught up with your tactics to avoid being found, and those tools are available to ANYONE. This is why your game will probably be relegated to the sidelines, like the anonymous Indian VoIP scammers.
If IBM's Watson can play top rank Jeopardy, and be retargeted to medical diagnosis, it could also be targeted to tracking you. Don't think it might? They are already using AI to track illicit money flow. Once developed, the search for economic reward will drive them to try it on other things.

It's a bit off topic for this particular forum. But, at least in my opinion, there's no such thing as legitimate third party debt collection - they're all pretty much the same. Encore comes from the same CNA pool as PMG, as far as I'm concerned.
