Complaint

I got a call today at home from a man stating he was a process server for Collin County DA's Office and he is with the Sheriff's office and needed to come serve a warrant on me.  I was shocked and asked why?  He stated do you live ....are you still at this address are you now at this address and I stated who are you?  He again, stated he was from the county going to serve court papers on me today. He gave me a toll free number for what he stated was the county's office which is 1 866.872.6116 gave me a case no. which he called a Cause No. 008307-TX. I called the number was transferred to a Mr. Fisher's office who stated that law suite in the amount of $6,214.24 was filed in Collin Co., Tx and that warrant was out for me.  He then after back and forth said let me get more information from my secretary and state this was for an outstanding debt in from Capital One a credit card that I obtained several years back and had disputes over interest charges etc.  He stated that if I did not want to go to court or jail that I could pay $1,951.00 in full by end of business today and this matter could be cleared up.  I explained that I recently lost my job etc.  Anyway, he stated that I needed to call him back by EOB today or they will serve the papers.  Ok, so that was a heads up for me.  I called the DA's office nothing is filed on me as of today, after searching PMG it is clear that they do not practice best practices for collections and have been in trouble for this before back in 2004.  I need someone to give me advise. I want to pay off my debt, I don't want this type of collections to continue this upset me, made my blood pressure raise, this type of collections are not the right thing to do.  Had they called and ask to make arrangements or give me an opportunity to clear the matter, rather then threaten me by taken legal action, or harassment stating they are sending a sheriff over today.  This is wrong, bad business, and should not continue this company is bad news.

Far from being innocent, it's a leading question designed to evade the key issue affecting criminality.

The issue is not whether anyone owes a debt, but whether this "debt collector" has any right to collect an owed debt, or whether the illegal and threatening tactics were designed to shake out money whether owed or not.

According to the FTC complaint, many people they called and threatened did NOT owe the alleged debt.

In addition, there is evidence in the many online consumer complaints that they collected on unowed debts, either already paid, or just made up, or on a debt actually owed to some creditor that had NOT assigned or sold any account.

Many consumer complaints report finding a credit inquiry on their credit reports several days before the harassing calls started, which would have given this "debt collector" information on old accounts to weave into the scripts, pretending they were "owed" to the threatening callers who claimed they were "suing", or might "arrest" you.

    Speaking of Jokes...
Q.) How many Debt Collectors At The Bottom Of Their Company Does It Take To Speak With The FTC Directly And Roll On Jason And Wayne?

    A.) So far two.

If you hadn't have lied to your employees and givin' them false hope
they MIGHT have stayed under Mr. Lockhart's wing. Once they found out
that you could have already paid them and chose not to...let's just say this isn't going to stay "Civil" very long.

having an education pays off in the end
"Im sure glad all these detectives are on this board finding out stuff."

--This is a sentence fragment. Surely you would have learned this had you completed high school.

"Maybe instead of living in your parents basement you shoulda joined the police force."

Missing punctuation. There clearly needs to be a comma inserted to make this sentence- cohesive.

"Haha oh wait, they don't hire 40 year old fat dungeon and dragon Internet tough guys."

Multiple grammatical errors. Proper nouns are always capitalized. Do you even know what the parts of speech are? There is also a comma splice. Replace that with a semi colon.

"Hahaha see ya on the flip side e-thugs! Lol what a joke"

-Using slang doesn't excuse the need for proper punctuation. Again, missing commas and no period at the end of a sentence.

This is just one of the many things that you can do when you have an education. You know, write in proper English. When you have marketable skills, and a command of the English language, there is no income cap. You get to make your own hours because you are your own boss. Now go back to manning those phone lines. Scam yourself silly until you have a big, fat commission check coming your way. When the day comes to collect I have a feeling that you will be right back here, venting your frustrations and dying to get revenge on the company that took your hard earned 'spliff money.'

Most of the Corona Scam threads on 800notes have gone quiet, except for a few posts referring to earlier harassment.

There are a few possibly different scams with recent complaints still showing up in the general area.

If they are still in operation, then they will show up as complaints within the next few weeks, either against old numbers, or new ones.  You can either Google by keywords like "debt collector" and "scam", or just watch the new complaints as they post, and look for the usual MO.

    P I G?
I hear that Portfolio Investment Group is running strong today under their fearless leader (and former Tough-guy Cop) Timothy Harding. I guess the FTC didn't make it down to the Irvine office yet. Someone should help 'em out with that.....
Seems like since these offices are all using the Debt Database purchased under Wayne and Jason that staying in business is contradictory to the guidelines the FTC laid out for them...
    But what do I know...

    According to Wayne
Employees can go back to work if. Catch is they wouldn't be getting paid until after court.Hmmmmm...

Once you get used to correcting their grammar, you are ready to track their shill voices.

Just list and score points for every independent deviation from normal, or characteristic matching the current shill patterns, or deviation from internal consistency.

Shills write to persuade, but they tell a story they make up, so they make mistakes no one would make in describing their "experiences".

Think of it as violations of a "metagrammar", operating at the semantic level, practically an "accent".

Work with no hope of money???
I remember something like that down in the South a few years back.
Maybe since they are mostly white / mexican they don't have to
    refer to it as slavery...

    Yeah but
I heard the defense lawyer already pushed the court date back from this Monday to 2 1/2 weeks from now. So, the more he stalls the longer they get free labor? Wow.

    I spoke to john cook
I actually called him yesterday just to talk.
I asked him if they were still in business? "He said yes.'
He told me it was only an investigation and I should keep sending my payments. I have never sent them anything.

    More Irony
Anyone notice that P.I.G. is a COP'S Company???????

And Timothy went "Wee wee wee" all the way to poverty

    :o
The defense lawyer pushed this back? WOW, this changes a lot. Did they really lie to everyone AGAIN? Saying this was pushed back by the FTC because they are trying to "find something that."

    ^^^Didn't finsh
    "find something that isn't there."
  • 0
    Yeah...
I'm sure if someone wants to contact the Receiver he can validate my findings. The one's who asked for the two week extension were NOT the FTC but the Defendants. And this way it sounds like they get to keep making false promises to hungry, broke people at the bottom and continue making that $

    so that explains...
The DOS attack on complaintwire yesterday. This website has the most detailed information, including links to many of the FTC documents. Maybe they were finding that it was harder to collect from marks as a result. Once again, greed will be their ultimate undoing.

And with an ex-cop on their payroll, they are definitely under a federal criminal investigation. They come down extra hard on crooked law enforcement.

    Not that he will answer
W & J asked all employees to harass the receiver via the telephone.

I'm sure that wasn't too much of a stretch for their capability level...
