Received a letter from Cardmember Service (P.O. Box 6355, Fargo, ND 58125-6355) that is an obvious scam.  It is the same outfit responsible for the illegal "Rachel" & "FBI" robo calls.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS LETTER.  Report it to the U.S. Postal Inspectors (877-876-2455).  They are well aware of this scam and the more letters they get the better their case will be when they nail these guys.
If you call them, they can then say you contacted them and they are now free to call you whenever they want.  These guys are true scum.

    I got the same suspicious letter that (cynthia Mar 2023) got. The date at the top of the letter was 3 weeks ago, stating that it was "imperative that I contact them immediately". PO Box 6381 Fargo ND 58125-6381 claiming that someone attempted to open a card, using an address in CA where I have not lived for over 20 years. I think this is a phishing attempt to collect my phone number and confirm my real name... I'm not calling, there is a risk of A.I. scanning my voice and being used later to impersonate me... I will watch my credit reports closely for the next few months just in case.
