I got the same call from a man with a very thick Pakistani/Indian accent. They told me I had gotten approved for a grant of $8,500 and the reason for this is that each year the U.S Gov. Grant Dept. supposably selects 15,000 Americans who have not filed for bankruptcy in the last couple months and pay they're bills on time, which raised a red flag because I'm late on some bills. They asked wether I wanted it on a gift card or bank account, they gave me a grant approval # and call back # and told me to ask for Harry Ford, who then told me about a $180 donation through western union, and that he'd walk me through the process. After reading all these complaints it assured me that it was fraud, very similar stories.

I said yea right whats the catch. He said I did not sound Interested and not to waste his time! I said I never said I wasn't interested in 8500 dollars I'm just trying to decide if this is legitimate he then hung up me.

I just got the same call but the number was restricted!  The same spill was given to me.  They know my name, cell phone number and address, which was my new last name and new address as I just got married not too long ago.   This was an Asian man by the name of Fred Foster!   I did not fall for the scam.  Although I do have to admit, I was wishing it was true!!!   Darn.

Just call that ph# they are giving you, and when they ask you for the receiving payment tell them to deduct it from the money you are supposed to receive. They will stop

The phone number I got that called 202-649-0253 but they didn't give me the F off when I was asking all the same questions. I know though that the U.S Government would've just taken the $250 off the top and not ask for a deposit basically.

same thing here; lady with a very thick accent stating I was selected for an $8500 grant and told me I would need to go to my nearest Walgreens or Walmart once I called the (202) 649-0253 number and spoke with her manager.

I just received the same exact call wanting me to give $250.00 and that I would get it right back with the western union of $8,500.00 but would then be $8,750 because of the $250. I knew right away this was a scam and was like nope I am at work and can't make it to a Walgreens to make the transaction. Thank you come again. My mom has been scammed a few times and hearing something that is too good to be true usually is the same way it sounds. Plus I knew the government would just take the $250 off the top and make it $8,250.

I got a blocked number call from Martin Wilson. Government to send me $8500. Gave me a number to call and an ID number to tell them.
Checked out the number and got this site. Aah! It's a scam. Mean trick to play on a retired person.
