My sister purchased a lift recliner made by Lazy Boy. She paid 1500.00 for this chair. When the chair goes back to the recline position, the foot rest does not come all the way up, so you are laying back with your legs going into a down position that makes you start sliding out of the chair. while I was there visiting her, I found this to be very uncomfortaable and asked her to call the store that she purchased it from. She did, and they called the manufacturer who sent out a repair man to fix the problem. He came out and said that this is a problem with all of the chairs and there was nothing that could be done with it. It is the way the chair is made. She tried out the demo model in the store and the leg rest went all the way up. He said that all of the chairs made now have the same problem!.
This is totally wrong. She is invalid and needs to get her legs up! Not sliding in a downward slope. It seems that Lazy boy should refund her money or fix the chair!

Gee Wizz You sound like a right wing nut. Why don't you find a web site where people will care what you think? Good Luck

EXTREMELY disappointed with my Lazy Boy reclining lift chair! Numerous problems right from the beginning, SOME of which are : the Remote breaks CONSTANTLY even with gentle usage, & the first 3 times were replaced under the warranty. However, I am only 6 months past the 3 year warranty on this high-end priced chair, and in those 6 months the remote has broken AGAIN, NOT once, but TWICE! (Replacement remotes cost $80.) The motors on the Massage units have been in for repair twice, & came back STILL not working BOTH times!! Nor do the heating units function! The chair makes VERY LOUD squeaking noises when reclined, waking my husband in another room! The frame is visibly crooked, & padding is practically non-existent after only 3 years. The supposedly "durable fabric" is thread-bare in only 3 years. There is a piece of wood frame jutting through the fabric! Oh!, and I forgot to mention that THE CUSTOMER must DELIVER & PICK UP the chair at a far-away warehouse for the so-called repairs each time!!! DO NOT purchase a Lazy Boy lift chair!!!

I bought my Mom a lazy boy lift chair 3 years and 3 months ago. The warranty is for 3 years so when it broke, I get to foot the bill to repair. The repair man bought out and replaced every part except one which it did not have. It appears that the one part he did not have is what is causing the problem. It is on order with an estimated ship date of 4 to 6 weeks. I am currently looking at replacement lift chairs at medical supply houses. When asked about lazy boy lift chairs the sales man said lazy boy does not make lift chairs. They make recliners and then stuff a lift frame under it. I will never buy another lift chair from lazy boy.

I agree with the above posts that Lazy-Boy is a piece of junk. The lift chairs are considered medical devices so why doesn't the FDA or some other overpaid bureaucrats sit down and come up with a design specification that will be less likely to break down.  I now own a big, useless lift chair that my dog uses as a bed.

I wish I had read this before I made my purchase for my 88 year old father with parkinson's disease.  He slides out of the chair every night even with a pillow under his feet.  Unfortunately I bought it at Jordon's clearance and cannot return it.  I did get it for $800 instead of 1500, but not much good to any of us.  I am going to put his old chair back and  just keep wishing that I had spent $800 on something someone could enjoy!

Very surprised, as I have never bought any chairs except lazy boy...I guess next time I will think again!

We have 2 of these LazyBoy Lift Chairs and I must say I have never seen a bigger piece of junk, for the price we paid for this chair '$1,600.00' it is a shame that these chairs are so cheaply made. Both chairs break all the time and never work for more than a couple months with light use. On 1 chair I have replaced the power unit 1 time, just replaced the remote on it for the third time and now the motor is not working and will probably need to be replaced. At this point I think I am just going to cut my losses and buy another chair from a different manufacture that cares about the quality of there products. DO NOT BY A LIFT CHAIR FROM LAZYBOY AS YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Try plugging and unplugging the chair several times . Sometimes they get stuck and will reset this way. Hope it works for you.

We have a Lift Chair that worked a few months now the chair will not recline at all. Called for repair was told the repair man would come out at a cost of $95 and would not bring any parts. I would have to be a idiot to ever buy another LAZYBOY.

Same problem here. Had one repair within the warranty period and the repairman simply replaced several components that neither he or I could see were damaged or any difference between them and the old parts. Sure enough, it did work afterwards, but soon, like within 3 months it started doing the same thing. The foot rest would fall when in use and eventually would not rise all the way. My chair is not electric, it has the manual lever on the right side to lift the foot rest.

A new call to the service people resulted in no joy. $95 to have a repairman come out. Fat chance. Note that once you're outside the one year warranty, repair calls are not free anymore but parts are free for life. I have a new set of parts here, just received, but I want to figure out how to operate my chair's foot rest with me under it examining the workings to see if I can identify the problem before just putting the parts in and suffering the same fate I have twice already.

The rep I was talking to did not offer the free parts. I knew about it because the repairman told me. When I asked, the rep said sure. I just asked for a duplicate set of parts the repairman replaced last time.

Yes, we just moved our chair around and noticed all these black stains on the beige carpet. Looks like the chair leaked something! Yuck!

I am appalled at what I have read on reviews of the recliner. My father-in-law just died and we inherited the chair,AND as I expected AFTER reviews it does not work. The light come on but it won't move. Iwas a manager of customer service for 20 years, andI can't believe they even still make these chairs. The poor lady that got stuck in it and it caught on fire. I would SUE the hell out of them. Is that what they would of said if she died, that this is a common problem with the chairs, UNBELIEVABLE...Itis sad that a company can get away with this

I have a Laz E Boy lift chair that was bought in 2008. The remote has a wire loose or something. I looked online and the remote could only be purchased at a Laz-e boy store.  I called the store and they said I would have to replace all the electronics, not just the remote on this model. They said parts and labor would run over $500.00 just to replace a remote. This is not right. I would not recommend Laz-e boy to anyone.  DO NOT BUY A LAZ-E -BOY IF YOU WANT SOMTHING TO LAST AND DOES NOT COST AN ARM AND LEG TO FIX.

I got the most expensive lift and massage chair they sell because of my knee replacement. It cost 2300.00. The leg rest does not go all the way up. The massage unit started making noise 2 months after I got it. They replaced it 10 days ago now it is making noise again.
