How to deal with these scammers...
A good way to keep these crooks very busy is to post ads on Craigslist.com for good bargains or for high demand jobs even "adult services"! Just list the contact number as the one they harass you from and be very sure to put "ask for Gaandu or Chooti" in the ads... (means [***] and [***] in Hindi!)I did and the number they were harassing me from has been busy ever since!!!

I received a call from ACS law firm threatening me with a process server coming over to my house or place of business.  They even called a family member who I have not even seen in years and I don't know how the hell they got that number.  The lady's name who called was Katrina McVivin.  She mentioned to my family member that I was guilty of writing false checks and will be charged with a felony.  Now it's my turn! I will be calling them and threatening them with a law suit!

I got a call again from these people. The guy on the phone was so mad at me because I kept asking questions. He even said My God...I said no sir that should be My Alla(probably mispelled). Then he really was ticked. It is a scam. I just start speaking really fast and they can't understand me. Do not give any information to these people. Ask them to send you their name and address so you can request a document of what you owe. They say they will fax it to you. By law....they have to send you a paper statement.

These people are pathetic.  I, too, have received calls from them, the most recent being today ( 4-19-11 ).  The number that comes up on my caller ID is a local number, but when I listened to the voice mail message, his call back number was 315-538-9903.  He said his name was Officer Sean Marshall and he was calling from the ACS Law Firm.  This isn't the first time I've received calls from them either.  Every time they call, a local number appears on the caller ID, but the number they leave is not.

They all have a very thick Indian accent.  I sometimes wonder if it is the same person calling but they give a different name every time they call.

I got a call from Mr. Sean Marshall on my cell today but I have a droid global and guess where the area code is from?  Kenya.  I am just curious as to why ACS law firm would be calling me from Kenya hmmm?  Dumb [***]

These same people also started calling me at work about 6 months ago harrassing me saying I owed money that I don't owe.  They had my soc number, first and last name, not too sure if they had anymore info.  I hung up on the Indian man who claims his name was John Smith(yeah right) after he started raising his voice while on the phone.  The calls stopped for a little while then picked up again on my cell phone.  I like how they switch the last names to every common last name available.  The last time he asked for my lawyers name.  I know that's not the process so I told him to get a life and hung up on him.

Just received a call from a "John Rodgers" (really?) very heavy Indian accent. So I just did what I did with the last scammer from two wees ago. I reported him the FTC, and I will report each and every time he or anyone calls. The last guy threatened to rape me and my family. The number he used was 510-567-4446 american law offices. The other number was 352-358-1863 (funny) it was another heavy Indian accent. Called FTC twice on him.

Same as above. Received a call from a man with a thick, hard to understand accent. He had the nerve to leave a voice mail saying that I needed to return his call ASAP and if I didn't he hoped that I had an attorney. I called back and another guy answered the phone as a Kevin James Attorneys Office and told me that he was trying to collect money from a pay day loan which is bull....because I never took out one. When I told him that this sounded like a scam he told me that police would come to my job and he Hung up on me. I kept calling back and he told me not to call his number again. I KEPT CALLING!! And I'm going to continue to call these scamming [***] until they change their number. They have got the wrong person.

    Make A POLICE REPORT
They work with a company called oneclickloan, this company also has other loan companies under another name, the indian guy has called me as well they said they were from oneclickloan, they may have your account number, the best thing to do is report this to your bank get a new account number, file a police report, send that to your banks fraud department and they will handle the case for you. You have to be sure to keep track of every number they gave you, they even told me they were from the FBI which is a federal crime to impersonate a gov't official

I received the email (posted below) from ACS INCORP (acs.incorporation@gmail.com). I cannot imagine that a collection's agency would use an @gmail.com email account, nor does it state anywhere in the email what ACS actually stands for. I have never received a phone call from who or whatever this company is. In the email they actually wrote "Grab your debit card and call us or e-mail us right now in order to make a payment and freeze down this case" listing their phone number "1-347.627.0230." The email states that if I do not make a payment "within the next 48 hours or else the case will be downloaded against" me. The bottom of the email states that it was sent from ACS legal department, I am currently studying to obtain my paralegal degree and work for a number of lawyers and have never once ever heard of a case "downloaded" against someone, nor would we ever instruct anyone to "grab their debit card...to freeze down" a case.

Extremely strange. That is all I have to say about it. I have never been a customer of any business with the name "ACS" nor have I ever heard of this company. It was no surprise that when you type ACS INCORP or ACS Legal department into Google, the very first results to populate are websites and people reporting harassment from this company.

This is the exact email I received today (the only change I have made is deleting my email address):

Subject: Reference - Account Number 60595-28; Subject - Lawsuit

Bcc: **this is where they posted my email address**

This is in reference to your Account number 60595-28 with ACS in order to notify you that after making several calls to you on your phone number, we were not able to get hold of you. So the IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center) has decided to mark this case as a flat refusal and press charges against you.Your account with ACS is in Final Collections. According to our records, your outstanding balance is $986.45Do revert back if you want to get rid of these legal consequences and make a payment arrangement within the next 48 hours or else the case will be downloaded against you.The opportunity to take care of this voluntary is quickly coming to an end. We would hate for you to lose the option of resolving this before it goes to the next step which is a Lawsuit against you, but to do so you must take immediate action. As we have shared with you in previous letters, read your loan agreement; the next step is clearly defined. It could cost us both a great deal of time and money; you can avoid this by taking care of this now.It is quick and easy:

Grab your debit card and call us or e-mail us right now in order to make a payment and freeze down this case.

    Contact us on 1-347.627.0230

If you do not take immediate action:
We will be forced to download this case against you and once it is downloaded the creditor has entire rights to inform your employer regarding this and if you are found guilty under the bench of jury then you have to bear a law suit which will be amounting to $4515.85 and will be totally levied upon you and that would be excluding your bail charges, your attorney charges and the due amount pending on your name $986.45

    Thanks for being our customer,
    ACS Legal Department

I have the exact same email only with a different phone number. I have also been receiving the phone calls and threats.  I was even told that I would need a "secret password" and to be aware if any one else attempted to call and talk to me about the matter.  I have done a slew of research and then told them that I would not be speaking to them anymore that my attorney would be handling it from this point on.

The man says his name is Mark Cooper..very heavy Indian accent he first said he was from cash America ( i think) then he said he was a lawyer from "The American Law Firm" I asked for his manager, he put me on hold then tried to pretend he was someone else when he got back on the line!  He has yelled at me, cursed me, threatened me with all kinds of legal action, even said he was going to turn it over to the DA of my state. A few hours later he called me back again (this would be the 14th phone call) and then pretended that it was someone else that had acted that way earlier!  I am passed the scared and angry part..now I am having more fun getting on his nerves with a bunch of questions.  I was even told that the questions I was asking were none of my business, and in the same sentence he demanded to know who my attorney was.
