Bizapedia Will Not Remove Me from Its Directory

Bizapedia published my business address and home address even though my business was closed over ten years ago. I have offered a Certificate of Dissolution as proof, but it will not budge, and my Secretary of State's office said that it does not remove businesses (even defunct ones) from its public records.

I spoke to Bizapedia's legal representatives:

KRONENBERGER ROSENFELD, LLP
150 Post Street, Suite 520
San Francisco, CA 94108-4707
(415) 955-1158

Leave a message for Mr Kennedy or Mr. Rosenfeld. They are very nice people who will tell you what you must do to get off Bizapedia.

Bizapedia has listed me and my husband as being arrested.  Where do they get their false information?

I had a very similar situation. Only when I talked to their lawyer they quoted the first amendment. So what you need to do is contact your State Business department and see who you need to talk to to get your information removed or changed (they won't remove the business but they may remove the address, phone number, and persons name if the business is closed.) Once the state removes the info you can contact Bizapedia and tell them to update their records since it will no long fall under what they hide behind. Bizapedia sent me a list of companies that can get your informaion removed but i felt that bizapedia profitted from that some how. It only took an hour for my info to be removed. Good Luck!

      Disgusted
I was very disturbed to find my home address listed on Bizpedia today. Furthermore, I've received nothing but junk mail to my home in my business's name since registering with the state . I have a small baby and toddler in the home so having my home address listed for the world to see is totally unacceptable. I'll do what needs to be done until my address is either changed to my PO Box address or removed altogether.

You need to find their home addresses and phone numbers and call and send mail to them there.

Posted a statement about bizapedia and now am being harassed by their attorneys, this is after attempting to contact their attorneys and getting no response and having to contact the BBB and file a complaint through them to get any kind of action.

      FOUND SOLUTION!

There is a feature which allowed me to claim my company profile and hide all my personal information. I'm guessing either this is new or wasn't very obvious when the others on this page wanted their information removed. Bizapedia didn't offer to remove my information as they stated it was public record, but they did let me hide it which took care of my issue. Hopefully this will help someone else!

The process was pretty simple, I located my company on their site, clicked the claim my company button and filled out the claim form. After my claim was approved, I logged into my account and submitted a change request to have my private information hidden. I believe they called it something like obscure profile, it was a checkbox on the change form. The instructions to do this were in the auto-response I received from their service email.

I no longer have that email or I would post the instructions here, but if you aren't successful using the steps above, I suggest just submitting another contact request. I'm guessing the instructions to hide your private information will appear somewhere in that email.

Again, I hope this helps others as I have 3 young kids, and was fearful that my private information including my home address was so easily available to those with bad intentions.

No, then I'll have to register with them, and agree to that ridiculous list of terms that I am not willing to agree to. It is very shady for them to post this information, and then say "sure we'll remove it, but you have to sign this contract first". I wont agree to the line, "You consent to the collection and use of certain information about You", because I don't. Clearly they're already doing it, but public record or not I don't support the idea of a company compiling it all in one place accessible at the click of a Google search, and then saying the only way we'll hide some of it is if you legally agree to what we're doing.    I'll contact them to remove it without going through their site, because even contacting them has a list of terms to agree to (though not as comprehensive/reprehension.)
Have you tried searching for the business "bizapedia" on on bizapedia? Nothing comes up. They'll post my information with no regard to privacy, but they retain their own. Nice.

Phil, Why are you misleading Americans? No state in the USA requires photo ID or SSN to register a business. Why should 63 million Americans send their photo ID, driver's license and SSN to Bizapedia? Why? Why? It does not make any sense. And, BTW, why is our address on Bizapedia anyway?
It seems like Phil is actually Bizapedia in disguise....right?

I am on their site and have filled out a form but it won't take the security code.  When I select the look up company option it redirects me to a Small Business website asking me to give my information again which I don't want to do.  Do you have any answers or possibly a phone number.  The one to 415 955 1158 does not work.
