Bizapedia Will Not Remove Me from Its Directory

Bizapedia published my business address and home address even though my business was closed over ten years ago. I have offered a Certificate of Dissolution as proof, but it will not budge, and my Secretary of State's office said that it does not remove businesses (even defunct ones) from its public records.

    Vanzetti, I agree with you!, I have my company profile registered in BIZAPEDIA which is not a big deal to me because I do understand once you open up a corporation it becomes public record. What upset me is the information posted about me " TWO ARREST" Classified as "hidden" which it means that I was arrested but some how this information is not registered for public access. I have NEVER been arrested in my entire life, no even a court dispute !....I am in shock!!! and in tears...

    Who runs Bizapedia?

    If Bizapedia is selling information about millions of businesses, why cant we see who owns and runs Bizapedia? No name, No phone number...

    I think we need to file complaints against them to FTC, Secretary general....everywhere...so that we shut down this scam company

    My troubles began with this company just two days ago and I'm astonished at all of the BBB complaints and this forum. I'm also grateful to learn of this so early on in my dispute process. I plan on calling the Secretary of State's Office tomorrow to hopefully get a letter stating that the business is no longer operational and I'm hoping that is enough.

    All of the e-mail correspondence from Bizapedia over the past few days [the 23rd and today, the 26th] keeps telling me to fill out a form to "claim" the company but I keep telling them that I am not the owner of the company; the company doesn't exist; and even if I did fill out the form, the form keeps kicking back because it asks for the business's webpage and the business has no webpage.

    The last e-mail response was comical, actually. They were saying, "You are obviously not prepared..." Not prepared, huh? It’s just a back and forth e-mail game to them. I found some other information from another site that lists all of the information for Bizapedia. I think that the more we spread the information, the more visible it comes online.

    Again, I’m so grateful to learn of this so early on in my dispute process. Usually it takes months to find this information.

    I do not understand the fact that ....all fifty states in the USA do NOT allow searches of state registration records by personal information, then WHY did Bizapedia copy our information and now throw it all on the internet? WHY?

    Even Google has respected people's privacy and they have never allowed searches of state records by personal information.

    This is SHOCKING....why is Bizapedia doing this to 63 Million American businesses?

    I didn't get the chance to read everything to find out if any of you managed to fix this issue, but I had the same concerns so I looked into it and found the answer. I don't think you can REMOVE your information if you're still in business, but if you'd like to hide it so people don't see your personal information such as address and phone number, simply search for your company on their website, on the left of your company's name, click on 'Claim My Company'. Fill out the information and wait a few hours to days to get the approval. Once approved, visit this link for instructions on how to HIDE your information:

      You seem to be missing the point of the post here.  If you didn't provide any of the information that they are requesting to be listed on their site, why would you claim your name, and provide even more information to be removed or hidden on the site.  

      The reasonable, and right thing for this organization to do is to remove people when they request either on the phone, fax, and/or email it's real simple.

      It is unacceptable that we do not know who owns Bizapedia...while this guy is posting everybody's information on the web. Please ask FTC to make laws so that we know who owns such companies.

    I had a renter who registered a business using my home address in which they were renting. The lease clearly indicated that running a business from this address was prohibited. Now when you goggle my address the renter's business pops up and directs you to their website. Upon the renter vacating, I brought to their attention in writing that this matter had to be resolved immediately; to date, my address is still associated with this business and the renter's name. The renter has not had any contact since the lease expired. How do I go about removing this business from being associated from my personal home?
