Charged $14.95 by MNI*CREDITREPORT.COM on 11/5. I've never given them any credit information or got a report from them. I wonder how much time I'll have to waste to get this cleared up... yay for scammers

Checked the credit card account today and saw the charge of 14.95 from them for nothing. This is bad and got to be stopped!

I got a call this morning from Lexington Law Firm saying that I had inquired about credit repair.  I did not.  Then later today I received 2 charges from CHKCARDMNI*CREDITREPOR866-8839 CAUS.  Googling around came up with this page.

    Cancelled card.  Yelled at Lexington

My cc was hit with a $14.95 charge this weekend also. Called the cc company this morning and they credited back the $14.95, with few questions asked - wonder if the cc companies know this a widespread scam now? Will definitely keep an eye on my cc account every day for other fraudulent charges.

Yes! The same thing has happened to me, I went to one of those free credit
report and filled out the information it asked, except when it ask for my credit card information, which I just have a debit card I closed down the website. Plus I never recieved a credit report, not even one score. Then the following day a credit agent called me and asked me if I wanted him to help me straighten out my credit. I asked him what he was talking about, he
said," my name came up on his computer wanting help repairing my credit."
I told him, No this was not true, all I did was go to FreeCreditReport.com
and they wanted money so I cancelled it and didn't even get one report, which I was suppose to get 3. Then I told the guy when I can see a credit report right in front of me then I'll decide if and when I want to straighten it out. He told me that he could bring up my credit report on his computer, I told him that does me NO good because I couldn't see it for myself. I told him if and when I get ready I'll contact him don't call me again. Thank you and good-bye. This happened on 11-2-2010 which I didn't find out until about 3 weeks later when I noticed my debt balance went pretty quick, then I went and checked it and there was that charge for $14.95 from MNI*creditreport.com (866-8833309)and I know I didn't authorize this transaction, at all. I want my money back and them never contact me again. Thanks for listening.

I was notified by email from my bank of a pre-authorization from MNI*CREDITREPORT.COM occurring around 11/25/10.  I talked with my bank and at their recommendation I called the MNI people.  MNI had no record of my SSN and the email address showing on the account using my credit card did not match my email address.  It should be noted that I am trying to refinance a house so I will investigate this issue a little further with them.  MNI asked me to call back Monday 11/29/10 and talk with their fraud department which I will do.  MNI did cancel the $14.95 charge that was pending to hit in less than 7 days.

This company commits online fraud and ID Theft. Whenever you see a $1.00 fee charged to your account, that's how they verify that the account is valid, and then shortly afterwards will start submiting the recurring charges to your card account. Report this to your bank immediately and stop all charges and replace the card.

This has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 years and they still employ the same technique but have not been stopped as of 12/15/10

I got 2 charges (1 week apart) totaling $44.90. I never even went to creditreport.com.

I have been sending them emails for a week with very little help. They ask for an account number and I don't have one because I never purchased from them.

what was the number you called?

Don't call the number.  They will ask for your identity.  The charge is only the first step, your identity is what they really going after.

I just got this as well. I tried their free trial once just to see how it worked (until I figured out you could view your credit report for free and not through this stupid "company"). I called to cancel it the next day and they said I wasn't even registered with them. Now they are charging me? This is bullsh** and I'm reporting them to my bank, and to the BBB.

Not only did they charge me for something I never signed up for, but when they asked for info to verify that it was my account, they told me that my SS#, DOB and others did not match what was on file when the account was opened and therefore someone must have my credit card #.

You'd think a reputable credit monitoring service would somehow be able to track the fact that the social security # doesn't match the one issued to the name of the account holder or vice versa.  Whatever fraudlent SS# was entered into the account should have produced someone else's credit report - not mine.

It's all very fishy so I canceled my credit card and I'm keeping a close eye on all my financial activity.

I just found out that I have two recurrent charges ($14.95 each) every month since November, it's a big surprise to me.  After I read other people's complaint, then I know that I'm not alone.  I called my credit card company and they talked to MNI*CREDITREPORT.COM rep, the woman said two different people use my card to order the services, and she could only cancel one account a day according to the company policy. She asked me to call their fraud department for refund.  My credit card company suggested me to get a new card and immediately inactivated my current card. What a hassle that I have to notify all places that are using my credit card for auto payment,
and I'm not sure how much time I have to spend to talk to this company's fraud dept.

Wow i just went through the same thing.  They bounced me from operator to operator and claim they have no record of my card number.  Finalyt they transfer me to the "fraud" dept and magicaly they have all my info and return the 94.70 to my account that they have stolen.  I guess that's why they are the fraud dept.
