I am writing to warn the public that the Maytag/Whirlpool line is all crap. They have not learned anything over the past 10 years. There are plenty of other people that have put the same warning on the Internet and I am here to scream it at you one more time.
Maytag and Whirlpool appliances are CRAP. Do not purchase anything they make. They continue to leave the customer with the problems that they continue to neglect. The company knows that the build and deliver inferior appliances yet they choose their stock investors over their customers.
Buyer Beware! And if you still choose to buy one, at least buy a good long service contract because you will need it.
I definitely think a class action lawsuit is long overdue. There are nothing but complaints all over the internet about this exact problem with this machine so this is by no means a fluke. Has anyone started a lawsuit yet?
And Melanie...I will send my information as long as you will get something done. This is pretty bad for a company that claims to be the best.
I am in on the lawsuit. I just want my equipment fixed.
Has anyone gotten any kind of reply when emailing maytag.digital@maytag.com (the email that Melanie provided)?
F70 and F71 codes are blinking on my series 3000 washer after only
14 months of use.
The top loading washer I replaced was 20 years old.
No service contract, so I guess I lose.
Thank-you Maytag!
Since these Einstein's use an unsealed bearing, the problem will be recurring. The design is flawed, and it seems soapy water will wash the lubricant out and corrode the bearing. What a dumb design choice!
My concern is that these bearings will fail and allow soapy (conductive) water to seep through the bearing, leading to leakage and a potential shock hazard. Great, not only are these products noisy, but they can become potentially lethal!
I filed a complaint with the Consumer Products Safety Commission, urging them to investigate this problem and recommended a full recall of these products.
If you are concerned about this, contact the cpsc at www.cpsc.gov and file a complaint. We pay tax dollars for this service, use it!
