Florida Resort Promotions calling Do Not Call List phone numbers
Complaint

"Derrick" claimed the company "Florida Resort Promotions." Found nothing about this company. Another ripoff company most likely working out of a call center. I can not wait until these felons are put in jail.
A legitimate company would be using the Do Not Call List.
Hope managers of his company find some jail time.

I was just called and got the same offer as Irene (for $798) and did the same thing Windy did (googled their info while they went on and on). I asked everything I could think of and it seems legit. The first person I talked to said something about being "new" but then a guy named David who's apparently the supervisor picked up and was able to answer all my questions. Here's what I found out:
When I asked why I was called, and whether they just randomly called everyone, they told me that it was because I had a Chase credit card (Visa/MC) or American Express or Discover. Or someone had put my number down at a timeshare presentation (doubtful). I do have a Chase Visa card, and I do get offers all the time from third party companies that got my information from Chase. So that would explain why people are getting calls even though they are on the do not call list. And because of the way Chase sets up the agreement, they are only allowed to call you once (so they can't keep calling and bothering you).
After I hesitated to give my credit card number, David offered me the package for only $598. I mentioned I had just gotten back from a vacation in Vegas so I was kinda short on money and he offered me another 3-night stay in Vegas for free at their Vegas resort, the Grandview, which I told him I'd never heard of. He sounded surprised and said it was right in the middle of the strip! It's actually way down at the far end of the strip an nobody's heard of it.
He also tried to sell me on the "advantage" that they would book a rental car for me and I wouldn't have to pay for the miles and could return it in different city (that's standard when you rent Enterprise, and there's no discount). He said that alcohol was included on the cruise (it's not), that the $598 includes all taxes and fees (it doesn't), and that their Orlando resort is located at the main gates of DisneyWorld, closer than the actual Disney resorts (it's a short drive away, not closer than the actual resorts).
After giving him my credit card information, I was transferred to a "third-party verification company" which according to Ripoff Reports was just a way they could get me on tape saying I agree so that I couldn't refute the charge to my credit card. Then I asked the guy ("Richard") the same questions and found out that there would actually be some "port" charges of $50-100 per person for the cruise, and some hotel fees of $5-7 per night. Additionally, no alcohol would be included on the cruise or any of the locations.
So long story short, I ended up purchasing the package. Here's a rundown of what I have to pay/do:
$598 plus port fees ($50-100 per person) for the cruise plus hotel fees $5-7 per night. Also I have to sit through a 90-minute timeshare presentation in Orlando.
And here's what I get:
3 nights at Vacation Village at Parkway in Orlando
2 nights at Plaza Ocean Club in Daytona
2 night cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, on the Imperial Majesty Regal Empress
3 nights at Grandview in Las Vegas.
all for 4-people (the hotels include one suite, and the cruise is two rooms) anytime (no blackout dates) in the next 3 years (30-day notice).
I made sure to repeat all of this multiple times during the "verification" call. Even though David was a little deceptive in some of his claims, I think $598 for 4 people in 4 different locations is a decent price to pay for everything, even though it doesn't include transportation. They also gave me the extension from 18 months to 36 months so I can do any of this within the next three years. I don't think this is an inherently terrible company, but I also don't think it's for everyone.
Same crap others report only free trip to Bahammas for three. Refused to provide address and other information and they hung up.
But he had given me an 800 number to reach him on, I called it it was a sex line. I get 1-2 calls a week and I am on the national do not call list as well. The best thing I can think of is to play a long and then waste their time
I would recommend it to anyone thinking of taking a vacation. And the service I received was top notch.

Me any my husband had the best time on this trip. We only paid $750. Knowing what I know now, I would have paid $2,000 for what we received. This was my first trip to Florida. Weather was perfect and the resorts were amazing.

She had nothing but great things to say about the service, the resorts, and the entire experience. Based on her previous comments I went ahead and purchased a 8 day trip for only $798. I just purchased this today once i received the call. I was able to book my trip immediately after. All I am responsible for paying is my port fees and my room taxes/incidentals. This is a great deal and I wouldn't have done it if my girlfriend didn't have such good things to say about her experience.
