I like many others I just read about found my account had been charged 2 times in the amount of $19.95. I had never received any correspondence regarding the services I agreed to check out at on a 30 day no risk option to cancel. I called 1-800-475-1942, spoke w/ a telemarketer, and told her I wanted a credit immediately, and that this is a well known scam, and I would call another number to report them to a watchdog fraud site. She immediately said she would credit the amounts, posting in 2-3 days. No questions asked. I told her I wanted to confirmation # for each amount credited, which she did. We'll see if in fact they will do this. Will let this site know what happens.

They are still at it!  They came at me through a telemarketer representing Palo Alto Labs, which I used previously.  Found debits for $24.95 for "Pulse Monthly" and "Essentials for Home" - neither of which I ever heard of before.  Got the old "www.programstop.com" stuff and the current number they are using is 800-475-1942. Never received the gas card or anything else they promised. Called and received a recording that they are closed and to call back during normal business hours. Wish me luck getting my mony back!

I noticed they have been taking a dollar as a debit purchase for what I don't know. I caught it in my March statement 2010.

Here is a little bit of advice. When making a purchase online or over the telephone, be careful. Listen carefully and pay close attention to what the person is telling you. Also, monitor you bank accounts regularly if you do make a purchase over the internet or from the tv. Most of these so called 'scams' happen because people as a whole do NOT pay attention. They are in such a hurry, that they just don't care. So pay attention people. Its not that hard.

July 12, 2010  This morning I found a black hole in my checking account. This has been going on for several months now. In the past we got something on the internet and we were offered a free trial of budget savers. Just for trying this we were supposed to get free gas and other goodies. We got nothing and I cancelled a few months later. Because of being busy I have not had the time to pay close attention to my bank account. I noticed BUDGET SAVERS back on and I went back several months and found that they have been taking $24.95 out of my account. AND I STILL HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING FOR THIS. I am going to my bank this AM and try to rid this BLACK HOLE out of my account and attempt to get my money back.

Hey fellow scamed fan(grimis smile) I saw this and said HEY that's what they did to me. Accept brother they charged my card 24.95. I was offered the gas vocher as well and yea just for doing nothing. The telemarketer did how ever try to get me to accept some other offers which he said really fast, that would have been totaling well over 95dollars. But i said hold on there mr. talk to fast, i heard that and i don't want anything, than he says well we will only charge your card $1, i said ok, just $1 dollar, his reply yes. I asked how did he get my card number, no reply. You know i had a funny feeling that i was going to hear from these people again, and i also was going to change my card number, but did'nt. Should have followed my first mind.So now i have to get them to stop the charge but as of now they are closed, will try monday morning. will let you know what happened after that. Until than any body with any suggestions on how to get money back now?

Call 1800-475-1942 to cancel the account. Don't forget to ask for a cancellation confirmation number and confirm your account number to make sure the cancellation is valid. They are quick to try and get off the phone with you so make sure you also ask for a refund before they hang up! I had to call back again. Supposedly my account will be credited a refund for last month's charges in the next 3 business days. We'll see...
This is clearly a scam to get folks who don't pay attention to small charges to their account. They claim you signed up for services which I didn't even receive! good luck to the rest of you! Hope this helped.

I also was had by Homeplay.  I ordered Reader's Digest with them and we ended up getting charged $19.95 a month beyond the cost of the Reader's Digests for 5 months. They said it was for additional magazines that I had ordered, which I did not do.  We never got the magazines and they agreed to refund the $19.95 charges.  We never got the Readers' Digest magazines either.  I called and complained and they said it takes a while to get that processed and it has been about 6 months and we still have not received a Reader's Digest yet.  Does anyone have a number on how to locate these scam artists?  Any help would be appreciated.

I was also a victim of this ridiculous scam, they called 6 times in one day and were insisting on selling me things where I would get a "free gas card" and that I could cancel as soon as I got whatever it was in the mail. Of course I never recieved anything in mail, was charges $30. I found out the phone number through this website and I called, they were rude, but I put up a fight. I told them that they have been reported to fraud, they have broken the law, and I know many others are taking legal action against them. They them told me that they would refund my money within 3-5 days, lets see if this actually happens. All of this because I ordered my younger brother a Magic kit online for his birthday.

Good luck with all of this!

Another Homeplay scam! I have been charged 19.95 a month for over two years, and I cannot get this slimey company to stop. This was for something I didn't sign up for and I never authorized them to charge my account. Homeplay is guily of Fraud plain and Simple. I cannot believe they can do this. The bank will not do anything to aleviate this. As far as I'm concerned Homeplay currently owes me 480.00 + interest. Any Lawyers out there?

The company is owned and managed by PROVELL in Minnesotta.  They have a website that lists the corporate address and telephone number(s)

I also had a $29.95 charge on my account from Budget Savers, I called their 800 number (800 475 1942). I asked the girl what the charge was for, she said I signed up for something. I advised her I have NEVER received anything from them and I wanted the amount credited. If not, I would just cancel my debit card and have another issued, they aren't getting my money for nothing. She said my account would be credited in 3-5 business days and hung up on me. I immediately called back and had the next rep give me my confirmation number for the cancellation. I will be keeping a keen eye on my account after this, TOTAL SCAM. This all started after ordering Plaque Attack over the web, be very wary of any items sold on TV. This is how these companies get your info.

    payattention
If you people payed attention to the phone call, you would know EXACTLY what will happen. YOU agree to pay one dollar for the trial. YOU talk to two representatives; the first tells you about the Budget Savers program, the second goes over billing, get's you authorization for the one dollar, and also has you READ BACK YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!!!! Pay attention to the damn phone calls before you complain about what you were billed. Every single call is recorded and if you say no, nothing is billed. Open up your ears and listen.. Or maybe don't order stupid stuff from the TV or online when you could take your lazy self to Walmart or CVS and buy the same thing for two thirds less than what you're charged when you order it. Idiots...

JUST SO YOU PEOPLE KNOW, ANYONE THAT WAS CHARGED BY THE COMPANY, HAS AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER AGREED TO BEING SIGNED UP. THEY DON'T JUST "TAKE" YOUR MONEY. YOU AGREE TO GET SOMETHING FOR FREE, AND DON'T CANCEL IT WITHIN THE TIME ALLOWED.

DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS CRAP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE CHARGED!!!!

I got a same problem, just follow what the guy above me said. Report as a fraud to your bank and say you never authorized for charge of what they've claimed as and you shouldn't have any problem and seek advice from your bank authority.
