DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!!! I took a job with them in Kansas and in order to keep my job we had to use practices that were bordering on illegal and I believe that some of it was illegal. I worked for a debt collection agency that followed the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act and telling people that they are paralegals investigators and using aliases is illegal and deceptive and against fdcpa. I refused to use their practices and when I didn't collect 10,000.00 dollars worth of debt in my first month I was fired. I believe that they are buying bad debt. It's resale debt, debt been collected, and I believe some medical that is medicare and medicade fraud. I am trying to figure out a way to stop this.

    Make sure to ask Mr. Waddell if he will also represent you for free in any counter claims that may be filed against you in federal court.  Even if he says he can get it dismissed will he do it for free?

    they are now going under the name air capitol receivables and are still harassing us as consumers someone needs to shut them down and fast they are not allowed to harass people and they are we have rights people I have made many complaints only issue they keep changing their name this has to stop

      What if we used to work at United Managment in Wichita Ks?
      They were working together. Jordan Akins used to fly to Ohio to have meetings with this office and us collectors would have to have skyp meetings with that office. Both offices broke the FDCPA. That's why i got out of there.

    I have had dealings with Mr. Waddell where he gave false representation to me.  I suggest people read the following and report Mr. Waddell for his behavior.

The form may assist you in preparing your complaint but is not required. You may prepare a letter instead, or in addition to, the form. You should send your complaint to OCDC, 3335 American Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65109-1079. Complaints are also accepted by fax. The fax number is (573) 635-2240. The telephone number is (573) 635-7400. In the complaint, give the name and address of the attorney that your complaint is against, tell what kind of matter the attorney was handling (for example, family law or criminal), state the facts in your own words about what happened, and what your concerns are. Please be sure to include your full name, address, and telephone number.

    The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel cannot tell you over the telephone whether you have a valid complaint, and cannot give you legal advice.

    I hear that they are about to shut down this firm and open under another name with a new owner.

    Research Dan Slane in the court system here in Columbus, he has millions in defaulted judgments against him from real estate deals that went bad so I doubt very much judgments from FDCPA lawsuits will matter much to this guy.  I mean literally seven figure judgments have been entered against this guy by Huntington Bank and many others.

    I don't understand why you folks are dogging this individual who is claiming to be a former employee of the this law office. First, an individual contacted me claiming that he was an attorney working for the Law Offices of Daniel Slane. He told me that he was going to issue a warrant for my arrest if I did not contact him immediately. I've been in the legal profession for 31 years and know a little something about the law. First, the individual who claimed to be an attorney is not licensed in California. I don't know if he is licensed to practice in any other state, but to say that you are an attorney in California when you are not is a violation of the Business & Professions Code, Sec. 6125, et seg (Farnham v. State Bar (1976) 17 Cal.3d 605). Moreover, threatening arrest or criminal prosecution by a debt-collector is expressly prohibited by the FDCA.  Lastly, only a judge can issue a warrant, not an attorney or someone claiming to be an attorney.  One thing is for sure, I requested that they not call my phone anymore and to only contact me via U.S. mail. If they are truly a law office, I sincerely hope they at least know this much about the FDCA. Otherwise, I will need to contact the California State Attorney General's Office and the Federal Trade Commission. So folks, please lay off of this poor individual and understand that there are unscrupulous people out there taking advantage of people who simply do not know the law or understand their basic rights.

    We were contacted by the law offices of dan slane and paid the debt that they claimed we owed, we were promised a release of debt form after payment, it has been 4 months and still no release of debt form! Dan slane has a D- with better business bureau and 34 unresolved complaints, I wish I would have looked all of this up before we paid them! We have our bank statements to prove we paid but I don't want them trying to do this again!! We are a young couple so of coarse we didn't want any legal troubles so we paid them, my advice to everyone....when the law offices of dan slane calls, get a lawyer and make sure its legitimate before you pay :(
