The woman I spoke to could barely speak English, so I asked to speak to her supervisor. He went through the same speak about how I had been chosen to receive a grant for $9000 and I didn't have to pay it back. The money was sitting in the federal reserve and it was mine free. They just needed either my bank account information or my credit card information. I asked him a lot of questions and used the time to look up the phone number they called me from. It was a cell phone in the Washington DC area - 202-210-0054. He then tried to have me give him my credit card number and when I said I was comfortable with that, he told me I was wasting his time. So I hung up on them. Why can't the government stop this!

    I received a call at 9 a.m in the morning. It was a woman that didn't speak very good English. She told me that I was selected to receive 9,000 from the government and that it was a grant. So I didn't have to pay it back. The she gave me a code and told me to call 202-697-9472 and ask for Evan Foster. So I did. He picked up the phone and told me that I would have to pay 285 for a verification fee that I was going to get right back. I had to go to western union to do it. So I did cause I really need the money and it was free. After I did that he told me that it would take 7-8 hours for it be on my prepaid debt card. So I waited then a 202-738-4572 number called me reassuring me that I would get the grant but I never did and I'm out of money. I feel so bad cause I'm a single mother of 4. That was all of the money that I had saved since I haven't worked in a while

      This same exact thing happened to me around 3pm yesterday. I gave him my prepaid debit card number. But that's as far as it has gone.

      These ppl  are trying to scam me as i type this.  They called up and gave me an ID number then told me to call another number to receive my 9000$ in grant money from the federal reserve.    I was like cool send it to this address.  Then they said i had to go buy 3 I tunes cards from CVS.  I said that sounds stupid.  After reading all of your post i felt like i should warn ppl that the scammers are still out alive and well.  So be careful.

      I got the same call just now. I called 202. 713.5343x1045 for Susan Miller who speaks with a heavy eastern accent. She explained I needed to go to Walmart and buy an activation card for $200. When I said I didn't have the money, give me 3 days,after she said she will leave my account opened. I asked what kind of card I have to spend 200 for.. she said once I have the money she will give me the details of the next step. This have scam written all over it. The first lady I spoke to..I asked why don't they send me a letter in the mail, the government loves to waste paper. She said we can not do that.. haha. I feel for all the ppl that got scammed. After doing research, seems like this have been going on for many years.

      same thing happened to me. I purchased 10 Google Play gift cards for the amount of 750 total, and gave them the serial nos on back a scratch offs! I feel like an old fool! but that's alright its a lesson learned. It could have been worse!

      I got this call moments ago at my work number, which I rarely give out...This scam is still alive. Nothing is free.

    A woman call me in the after noon and told me I was pick from a number of people forgot how many from New Jersey to revive a grant for 7000.U had to go to western union and send them 345.00 fir fees.when I call them back they told me it would be in my account in 7-9 hrs.they told me to call back the next day.I did and they told me that I had to sent them 500 more for taxes.I told them I didn't have it he said he would help me and put some money in it for me.So I sent more money.I needed the money so bad that I believe everything he said.I live in SSD,they clean me out.Niw I have no money for my bills or Christmas gift for my grandchildren.
    I feel like a fool.what do I do know.I try to live on 1029.00a month.PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.I DONT KNOW HOW ANOTHER HUMAN CAN DO THIS TO ANOTHER.I lost all my money,I now have .89 cents in my account.I am going to get I touch with the news stations and see what they can do.THEY ARE COLD HEARTED [***].Kmow I have to tell my grandchildren I can't get them Christmas gifts.MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME.

      This just happened to me yesterday i was to excited to even at the moment consider it a scam.I gave them my whole paycheck thinking i would get it back. Now i cant pay my bills this month and i have three small kids.When i called back they told me they werent sure why i didnt get the money and that it was not their. Fault they only do their jobs.I told them they scammed me and i needed my money back they said it was tied into
      the  irs and wasnt anything they can do. Please be aware. The guy i first spoke to name was peter ,he had real bad english..I later spoke to someone named sally jones who is suppoused to be the supervisor. Watch out for this number12028999346.Dont get conned like i did

    Then they wanted me to put more money on another card yeah right I was told I was going to get 9000 for a government grant yeah right these f****** scam artist I feel so stupid I got scammed

    These guys just called me and i googled 9000$ grant while on the phone and found this thread.  Nice job guys. The number they used was 202-456-7890

      they just called me woman first for a 9500 federal grant ..want me to put 200 on a card I told them I don't have that money the number they are using now is 202-888-5737... luckily I felt it was a scam and didn't do it... especially when I told the guy just give me the tracking number and I can go pick up the money western union ..he kept trying to convince me I needed an activation card to get it all started... told him sorry no money here
