I started my reservation to Orlando with eTourandTravel.com. They said they need my credit card number to hold my reservation. I provided one. It was a natural thing to ask and many companies in travel industry (hotels, and car rental businesses) do this. They make an empty request to your credit card to make sure you have the credit allowance for that amount. In two days I noticed a charge from eTourandTravel.com for near $300. I was just holding my dates and was told I will not be charged until I actually pay for the trip. Yet, they took the money from my account without my authorization!

July 10/07, I had a call from eTourandTravel.com and after much hesitation, I agreed to look over the trip they offered. After discussing our budget with my husband, we decided that this trip was not for us. I purchased the trip for $169 on my visa and I was told that I could cancel anytime within 15 days. On July 16/07, my husband went to cancel the trip (I was away camping for 2 weeks), and he was told that he could not cancel the trip because his name was not on the form.

A few days later, after receiving the information package, my husband tried to cancel again. He was denied because my name was on the form. On July 27/07, I returned from camping and immediately phoned to cancel. I was told that the 15 grace period was over and that the trip was mine. I could sell or transfer the trip to a friend or family. This is a trip that not just anyone would go for since you are required to sit through one to two hour presentation on time share. We regret ever getting involved in any of this.

Listen, I use to work for this company only because I was a student and with the econ being as bad as it is/was I needed the money. I finally got to a point where I said screw it & couldn't work for them anymore. Reps take CC info for personal use, supervisors make promises and then laugh at you once they get ur info, its sad! Trust me, stay far away from them!

Florida law is 30 days so they can be shut down if they don't honor

Florida law is actually 15 days, so do your homework. People always want to bash this company for refunds. But when Sprint, a major company, has a 14 days refund policy, I don't see nobody running up in sprint trying to get a refund after those good 14 days are up. When Walmart, a huge company, has a 30 day return/exchange policy, I don't see anybody trying to shut down Walmart trying to return something years later. As a consumer it is YOUR responsibility to read over the terms and conditions of everything you purchase because it is definitely supplied to you, it's not there fault that you stupidly don't take the time to read it.

Any suggestions for someone who just purchased the package.  Would you use them again? Did they provide you with the free hotel/condo, free car, free 1 day tickets for 2 people? Was it a hassle? Would you recommend them?

I have used tus company several times, and every time I was pleased with the service and package. For the price of the package and the amount of time and additions you obtain, dedicating 1-2 hours of your time to listen to a sales pitch and see their property is nothing.  I'm saying 1-2 hours out of a 5-7 day trip for $189-349, with 7 day car rental and park passes? Seriously... 2 houras tops is nothing.

I am definitely sorry to hear of your situation. However, if you read the terms and conditions for the account you will notice it does clearly state purchasers have up to 15 days from the date of purchase to cancel this agreement. You were aware of this at the time of purchase because you just stated that in the above blog. It's just like if your husband were to call the bank about an account that was only in your name, the bank would not allow him to receive any information. If you sign up for something, it is your sole responsibility to follow through. If it was something that the two of you decided you didn't think you would be able to take advantage of, you should have at that point contacted the company. How can you hold the company responsible for neglect on your part? How is that logical? They did provide you with ample time to review the material and come to a conclusion. It is up to you as a consumer to take responsibility for your own actions and not blame someone else, or the company in this matter for something that you failed to follow through with.

You can blame the company when you have not had the time to review the package, because by the time you received the package your 15 days was up!

Please consult the better business bureau. They scam people. They promise you things when they give you their sales pitch and then don't honor their promises. I and 2 other friends were offered the same things and when we called to reserve they changed their story. I'm trying to get my money back and filed a complaint with BBB

I got a phone call from ETourandTravel they said they had a special package deal for 99.00 dollars I would get 3 nights 4 days in Orlando and 3 nights and 4 days in Daytona hotel paid for. 7 day rental car 2 tickets a piece for 5 people. They told me about the tour at the resort, that wasn't a problem I've went on those tours before, so they ask for my VISA debit card number to debit 99.00 dollars from account I thought it was a great deal I wrote down every word this guy said. After receiving the information package it did not match a word this guy said. His name was Lewis Cuebaas I bet there's not a guy there by that name. The letter said I had a choice of 2 tickets for 1 person to any theme park or the rental car also they stated there may be surcharges applied also it said I would need a major credit card it said the package was for 4 people not 5 they have committed fraud and misrepresentation, but I bought into it I had to learn the hard way after reading this and knowing what happened to me. Make up your own mind whether you think this is something you want to buy into.

I beleive every word you said and everyone also who had a problem.  And as far as Nicole goes, I am sure she works for them.

I receive phone calls all the time.  We never signed up for anything.  I asked them to take me off the list and do not call again but they still kept calling.  I kept hanging up until they stopped calling..  These calls ended in 2009 finally.  I think there should be some kind of control over this.

I called today cancel my $198 fee and was told that the 15 days had passed even though I was told I could cancel 15 days after I received the literature, which was 9 days ago. My notification is four days too late they told me.( the date of the payment is the date they use, which in  my case was July 9, 2008. Never again will I do this.
I told the rep that this was a scam because I was within the 15 day period. If this were legitimate, they would honor my cancellation. Furthermore, it is within 15 business days and the rep never said calendar days.
I will complain to the NJ State Consumer Affairs. I will spend time on this one since it is so blatantly fraudulent.
I( was also told that I can't appeal the decision of the person I just called. I will make every effort to contact those in charge as well.

You can file a complaint with the BBB. They have their own laws in florida.
I just filed a complaint myself. They promise you things on the phone and then they say it's not what's on paper. By the time you call the 15 days are usually up.
