I started my reservation to Orlando with eTourandTravel.com. They said they need my credit card number to hold my reservation. I provided one. It was a natural thing to ask and many companies in travel industry (hotels, and car rental businesses) do this. They make an empty request to your credit card to make sure you have the credit allowance for that amount. In two days I noticed a charge from eTourandTravel.com for near $300. I was just holding my dates and was told I will not be charged until I actually pay for the trip. Yet, they took the money from my account without my authorization!

Sounds like you work for the company "Marsh".  That's the exact mentality those jerks had over the phone.  When I told them no and DONT CALL ME ANYMORE, they said "why"??  Why would you not want this deal??  Hey, if I say don't call me it means don't call me, end of story.  He kept asking me questions though and eventually it turned into the two of us yelling and cursing at each other.  This company appears to me as fraudulent and criminal in their activities.  Hopefully people considering booking a vacation through this company read this page and decide against it.  This "company" is hardly legitimate at all and illegally obtained info about me then harassed me over the phone.  STAY AWAY

For one thing when you ask to be put on the DO NOT CALL list they must with no questions to do it and will.  Also it is not just signing up on line if you sign up for discounted packages then they will call. And the way they got there info is because of your credit card THANK YOU!!!!  So next time they call you tell them nicely to put you on the DO NOT CALL list. and you wont get called.

This company is so rude, I wanted answers to my questions and I all I got was a rude manager who couldn't tell me answers about pricing.  Buyers beware, sounds too good to be true, it is.  I was so offended by this person I will never take another call from this company again.  I was ready to buy this package, but all I asked was how much total it would cost for family of 7 or 8 instead of 5.  Only to be told repeatedly that $99 is for 5, no real answers on additional costs.  What a disappointment to know that a scam company like this is allowed to operate in our country.

I purchased a package almost 2 years ago... Just book the trips today. SO far I have no horror stories of them billing me too much $ etc. They were honest with me and  told me it is a time share sales pitch which I have no problem with listening for a hour or 2 for a  Disney vacation for 7 days and Daytona for 3 days with a rent a car and 2 passes to Disney world only cost $250 or so. Nothing is free people, if they are giving you all of this of course they want something. Yes they do want you to tell your friends about the resorts you were in etc. EVERY hotel or resort wants that. It is called word of mouth marketing. Now I pray there are no issues but I will surely post to let you all know how it went. Y'all make anyone not want to try this but my money is already paid so I have nothing to loose at this point.  BTW: If you have a BILL in your name most times they wont talk to anyone but you so why do you think you can agree to a trip with your Credit card and your spouse can cancel??? what if you had no clue and your spouse was a psycho then you wold be fussing saying it had your name on it! come on grow up

Why on earth would someone give hundreds of dollars to a random telemarketer calling your house that has a BB rating of F?  People never cease to amaze me...

I actually did get semi scammed.  I was asked for my credit card and a security deposit of $99... i didn't have it at the time and they said that's ok, they would call and ask again in a month.  However they DIDN'T ask... they just charged my card and then I called THEM within the 15 day time limit and canceled... I didn't get anyone who was rude or mean, but time will tell if they credit back my card ;)

That's not possible, once u give ur CC it gets put into a screen and it only shows the last four digits, not only that but in order to make purchases at Best Buy, u actually need ur CC or a check from ur acct!

I recieved their packet and also discovered I had to do the time share promo.  I had asked them if that was a requirment when they called me, and they said absolutely not.  When I called to cancel, I had to end up screaming at them, because they were hell bent to talk me into it.  Never again will I fall into this trap.  Finally they said I was cancelled, but they wouldn't give me a confirmation number.  So, before the day is done, I'll be calling back to make sure it's cancelled.
Moral of this story, if you want to travel, go to your local agent...at least then you know where they are if you have trouble!!!

Sounds like your fault, not theirs. It makes perfect sense to me that if your name was the one they had only you could cancel. Grow up.

I have used Etourandtravel 3 times and they have done everything they said they would. Sounds like you see a "scam" behind every door. Poor victim syndrome (must be a Democrat)

Ok I too fell for this and actually went on this trip and here is what I found. First I drove down to Orlando from Wisconsin. They put us up at some flea bag hotel called the Marriot. It was not the worst hotel I'v ever been at,it was convieniently located right on the strip in Orlando. The 3 nights I spent there were filled with high school kids slepping in the halls and making noise all hours of the night. It was a Highschool trip I think,no big deal really, the room was pretty well insulated so once the door was shut it was ok.Really how much time do you spend at the hotel anyway right? The hotel was a bit dated but kept clean for the most part. They gave me free tickets to universal for 2 adults. This alone is almost a 200 dollar savings compared to buying the tickets myself. All in all we had a great time at Universal and got some pretty cool photos. The resort we toured was fabulous and brand new.(too bad they didn't put us up there)The pressure to buy was a bit high but thats why you get these deals and I have no problem saying no like 40 times anyway so it was a fair deal so far. On to the second leg of our trip the 2 nights in Datona or New Symerna rather which is about 15 miles south of Daytona Beach. We atayed at the coconut palms 2 resort located right on the beach which to my suprise was really nice and secluded and quiet which we needed after dealing with the hihgschoolers in Orlando. I mst say that this place was also a bit dated but had charm and history. They put us in the nicest room they had on the top floor with an ocean view suite overlooking the beach and the hotel outdoor pool. The room was an apartment with everything included including dishes and a full kitchenette. This place was awsome and we had the best view ever. Sliding glass doors in the bedroom went to a private balcony as well as the living room also with sliding glass doors. While waking up we could see the sun rising from our bed and watch as the pelicans flew by out window. What a magnificant way to wake up. I think we were on the 9th floor which is the top. While wandering around New Symerna we found an awsome little mom and pop BBQ joint right on the beach and just chilled there in our room and on the beach for the entire time. It was so relaxing there being away from Daytona but just like Daytona beach. Eventually we went to Daytona and did some shopping which is super cool too but ended up going back to our own little slice of beach at the resort. Really people, you get what you pay for and this trip was like 199 dollars and acomadated 4 people nicley. I did have to buy 2 tickets in Orlando for our kids but what do you expect? They are 100 bucks each. All in all I can see how some people have a problem with etour and travel being so pushy trying to sell these trips AND not wanting to give money back after you pay because the sales people work on commission. It sound to me like alot of complaints here are from people who didnt use the trip or didnt go on it for whatever reason. I personally got exactly what they told me about, no one lied to me about anything and over all we had a great time and most importantly a wounderful family vaccation with lots of memorys we will never forget. As for the price, One night at the Coconut Palms 2 Resort staying in this old penthouse suite was worth everything we paid. If rented by the night and no sales presentation I would expect a room like this to excede 150 dollars per night, so it was worth it. People just like to complain and I reccomend this trip, just have a good attitude and stay positive and all will be worth it. And by the way, breakfast was served every day at both places and they had a good variety of food to choose from, and it was all free, so you be the judge. I was satisfied and would do it again, and have. I'v also done a simmilar vaccation with Summer Bay resort, a bit more expensive but alot nicer rooms in Orlando but crappy rooms in Daytons but who cares, In Daytona you spend all your time shopping or on the beach. Etour and travel hooked us up in a room not too far from Daytona and it was awsome...I will do it again and again, and have since moved to central florida and do these all the time.Next we will try a ocean cruise and I'll report on that as well, so til next time jsut remember a positive attitude will go a long way when you are trying to do these type of sales presentation type of trips, and keep in mind its so they can sell you something, not entirely for your comfort. If you want a flawless trip, buy one at full price... Good deal is all I can say.

Dude it's really not a scam and I have no affiliation to e tour and travel. I went on this trip and it was worth every penny. It is funny that everyone who says it is a scam didn't buy the package or didn't go on the trip. Once again people it is legit and you will be suprised. for what you spend on these its well worth it. As for cancelling once you pay, think about this. The poor telemarketer gets paid by commission so if they give you your money back, some poor telemarketer who had plans to feed his family with his share of the commission has to also give it back. If you dont want this trip simply say no so he can move on to someone else that will take advantage of it and I promise they will have an awsome time. We did...well worth it. Disney or universal tickets alone cost 100 bucks each.
