I bought my water softener and reverse osmosis 6 years ago, they promised me cristal clear ice but I never had it.I was not able to return the system because thay told me the fridge tubes are contaminated, we bought a new fridge and till noe we don't have cristal clear ice.

The scam today is I called for service for my reverse osmosis under the sink I keep hearing the water , the technician showed up on time looked at it, seriously just looked at it and told me I need a $325 valve and it will cost me $15 per 15 minutes to install it , I said no thank you.
Well I was charge $79 service chage and $30 labor charge although he didn't do any labor.
I called the company and they said this is their policy.
KINETICO IS THE WORST COMPANY I ever delt with,big time LIARS.
I will never recommand it to anybody, it is the worst for a fraction of the price I can get the same system from Costco, lowes or home depot.

    i work for a kinetico dealer and we sell the filtes for like 36.00 and 24.00 sounds like you got riped.

    I ordered a service from Kinetico last November. After the technician left, the system stopped working again. I called them to ask for a refund and they refused. I ended up buying a new reverse osmosis drinking water system from Costco. I'll never recommend Kinetico to anyone. By the way, their service & repair charges are ridiculously high.

    IF YOU WORK FOR A DEALER PERHAPS YOU CAN TELL ME THEY ARE SO DAMN NOISY!!!   THE NOISE IS SO BAD I CAN'T EVEN STAND IN MY BASEMENT, OR EVEN THE FIRST FLOOR OF MY HOUSE, BECAUSE IT HURTS MY EARS!  AND IT GOES ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 45 MINS- 3 OR 4 TIMES A DAY!  
    THE GUYS WHO INSTALLED IT( WATER WORKS) HAVE NO ANSWER FOR ME...THEY JUST MAKE  FACE AND SAY "THAT'S HOW IT WORKS"....
    REALLY?...THEY DID'NT TELL ME THAT WHEN I BOUGHT IT....ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER?

      Kinetico units have a very high flow velocity through the drain line flow restrictor. This can cause a lot of noise through the control valve during regeneration. The units are very good but parts are non existent through anyone but an authorized dealer. There are several good service technicians out there but they can not get replacement parts. If you have an older model 60 hang on to it. It is the workhorse that should never have been retired. The newer Mach series units use less water but they were full of design issues that may not have been resolved. If you have a dealer that charges excessive fees for service you are kind of stuck with the unit. It's like owning a Mercedes, yeah it's great while it works but hold onto your checkbook when it's time for service.

    The Kinetico dealer in Southern California is US Enviromental. They are ripping customers off charging 6K for a full system. softener, declorinator, RO.The whole system should be 3K.
