These people have been calling ma and my mothers house saying they are pressing charges and I need to call them back to settle these charges!!! I have not committed any crime so they should not be calling acting as such!!! They threatening to come to my job and every thing else!!!

    I was contacted by AMG yesterday,  and like a dumbass, paid them $250 on my debit card  to avoid going to court and affecting my credit I've been working so hard on to repair from  years ago. After paying them, I  realized these debts had been written off years ago. I called my bank to stop payment, but was too late.  If there is anyway possible to sue them, I would love to pursue that. these people are very convincing, and need to be stopped!

      They obtained your card information through deception, illegal threats, and other violations of federal and state law (FDCPA, etc.).

      The threat that they would sue you ("take you to court") was FALSE, and they knew it when they said it.  In particular, this was deceptive and illegal if the alleged "account" was delinquent past your state SOL, or the original date of delinquency was past the 7.5 year maximum credit reporting period.  They are required to know and comply with the law (FDCPA) regardless of whether you know what that is.

      That makes it a deceptive and illegal threat, and an attempt to evade your validation rights, in violation of FDCPA, so the "authorization" was obtained through illegal deception, making the charges fraudulent.

      Dispute them through your bank as FRAUDULENT, and have your bank block your card number immediately to prevent further fraud and theft.  Even if they took money out of your account, your bank can reverse the charge due to fraud if you dispute it quickly.  File your bank dispute IN WRITING, alleging FRAUD.

    I called them back and asked for their address, they refused said I had to give them my phone number.  I refused.  They then said that I was going to be served with a lawsuit.  I told them it is illegal to say that and go ahead and sue me that way I know where you are and I will counter sue and I will win.  They got nasty and hung up on me.  I am trying to locate them.

    We keep getting these phone calls also.  The one question I have for everyone is had you ever taken a loan out with these quick cash companies.  Ares were paid off, but  it seems we have been sold to other companies claiming we owe them money when we know we don't.  They tell us the dates that we apparently get these loans,   and when checking our accounts it is false.

    Have been getting these calls for the past week for a car that I voluntarily turned back to the company in 1989....they are trying to collect on this debt that is 28 years old....said they had a process server coming to my home at 1:00 today. I told her the statue of limitations in CO in 6 years....she hung up and told me good luck in court. I laughed at her...just don't harrass me over something almost 30 years ago, really it's bull!!

    My 15 yr. old daughter has received 2 calls threatening legal trouble - the first from ISG Mediation in Topeka KS, and the 2nd from "Jeffrey Willard" with AMG & Associates.  This must be some kind of fraud ring, as they are asking for someone we don't even know.  Will be reporting this.

    I am getting threatening calls for a kathleen xxxxx, and i am not her. i have told them repeatedly that this is no longer her number and they say they will take the number off, i call 2 - 3 times a week. the messages are getting upsetting! i asked for an address to prove i was not kathleen but they said no. now the calls come saying that i am an agent of kathleen, i dont even know the girl..... any way to stop. tried to block calls but they use lots of different numbers.

    Report fraudulent "debt collectors"..
    File fraud complaints with FTC, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and your state Attorney General.

    They threatened criminal prosecution, fraud. They said they didn't have to notify me when they claim they notified the bankruptcy court. (They never notified the bankruptcy court & did not appear at the meetiny of creditors) I paid 303 to get them to leave me alone (they were demanding 400, but if I did not pay that day, it would be 1300). As soon as I hung up, I realized paying was stupid. There is no way it was not have been discharged in bankruptcy. I did wait a couple days for them to send their "release" and then filed a dispute with my credit card for the fraudulent charge. They have now called again, but I refused to talk to them. I don't owe them money. The debt they are trying to collect was discharged in a bankruptcy.

    Brenda daniels and britney wade called  said i took out online loans in 2011 and 2012 and defraud the company because my checking acct didnt exist. They have all my info. Turning over to my attorney

    Some guy call me and say his name was Dan power that he was working for amg say that I need to call him back to settle the matter ,and say my income tax would suspended is this a scam guy's could someone give me suggestion

      I got the same message from a Dan Power 229-495-6600 is his phone number. Talking bout my taxes and state taxes will be taken due to a matter I neglected. Same voicemail 2 days in a row. I know this is a scam because a month ago a lady calling from 229-495-6405 called repeatedly about a complaint on file in their office on me. BS!!! I didn't return any phone calls and don't you. SCAM!!!!

    Have not and will not answer their calls have their number blocked. There is no such thing as debtors prison and they cannot put you in jail it is a civil matter not criminal.

    They just called my place of work saying that I owe them money and if I don't pay they will come to my place of work with a warrent for my arrest with in 48 hrs

    I just received a call too and threatening voicemail. I googled the firm and it came back as a contracting company out if Santa Clarita California. They never answered when I called back either. When I googled the phone number it came back that it was on a scam list

    My mkher n law got a call from this same company saying that I owed them money from an old Gas Company credit card from 2009 and if I didn't pay them now they would  go forward with legal prosecution and have a judgement drawn up on me and Inwould have to pay court costs etc. I contacted my bank and they are taking care of this for me!
