    Although their business relationship to you might allow them to call you, until you notify them not to, that does not extend to any other party.  If they sell your number to another telemarketer, that does NOT give the other telemarketer any legal right to call you.  File complaints with FTC.

    Also file a BBB complaint with guthy-renker.

      On April 15 of 2012, I received my order of proactive. It has worked for so many I wanted to see if it would work for me. I used it as directed
      The first day which requires two usages. The next day I used it again but shortly after  my skin began to turn red, burn, swell, and I developed Steven johns syndrome. Much pain and suffering as I attended the er. After being dismissed I called proactive and informed them of what happened. After a few days Chub insurance came to interview me. They denied my claim because of two other meds I have taken for years and have had no allergic reaction whatsoever. I used proactive for 2 and a half days and it almost killed me. I realize that there are risks in using over the counter products, but when the side effect of Meds I have taken for years have never given me one issue and the two day proactive adventure almost killed me, it's time to do the right thing and make it right. Guthey Renker is a multi billion dollar infomercial company. My expenses in er fees, Dr fees, after care with a dermatologist, and my primary plus gas mileage is around 2500.  The truth is this, look up the side effects for citalopram and neurotic(which I've taken for years) and the side effects of proactive that I used for a day and a half. Proactive caused the reaction and even when I told Ryan at chub Insurance that I had the toxicology report and I had no cilitopran or neurotin in my system he said he still would not change his decision. This is a typical situation in which chub ins thinks I am uneducated. My two degrees say otherwise. I'm getting robbed. Please help . Ryan's number is 6235802471  and.         James, I am kind of in the same boat, I have 3 very large open full thickness chemical burns on my face, they were infected but that has cleared up, now I have to have plastic surgery to close them.  I have talked with Proactiv and a woman from Guthy Genker called me and took a second report, she said whatever I needed to call her, I am still not sure what falls in the "whatever you need" category, but will know more tomorrow after I meet with the surgeon.  I have been in touch with 5 or 6 lawyers in Nashville already they all said they couldnt help me.  I have one more that is considering it, hopefully will hear from her tomorrow.  If that falls thru we have a friend who will handle it, he said its out of his practice area but as a last resort will help.  In the meantime the right side of my face feels like its been hit by a baseball bat, the burns themselves don't hurt, its the edges where it burned thru the nerves.

         I have told everyone that the problem I have isnt with the product itself, its the label, it said NON-IRRITATING so I used it...if it had said anything about sensitive skin I would not have used it.  From the forum and many others I am seeing a lot of financial issues but not much regarding reactions to the product.  Does this mean that its rare to have this degree of injury from it or am I not looking in the right places?  I have also wondered over the last few weeks if somehow the negative stuff is taken down?  

        After reading your post, I am wondering now if they will reject me because I am on medications for other issues as well?

    They have evolved. They are now selling complete details - name, phone number, address, CC info, CC security code to other companies (personal guess, they may only work with PROTBERRYHEALTH). One of which is PROTBERRYHEALTH (a simple Google search will reveal more fraud complaints than anything you've ever seen).

    Problem is, I got them. When I ordered Proactiv, the combination of name/CC info was brand new on the internet, never ordered using the same details before. So I'm now seeking legal advice to see if we, the consumers can do something about our stolen information.

    Until this company is proven to be safe, I suggest you use a unique CC number, which you can request from your Banking institution for the purpose of ordering stuff from Proactiv. I don't want to say "never buy from them" because that your choice. But the least you can do is protect yourself.

    Now I know' Proactiv is a RIP OFF!!!!!!!!They will take money out of your banking account.And share there info with others. That SUCKS!!!!!!!!

    I can smell class action lawsuit against Guthy-renker. I too got
    swindled. I have a total of 10 boxes of this sh-- in the closet.
    They keep sending even after trying to cancel order twice. BBB
    won't do anything they've been paid off. The two founders of this
    company are like the rest of these MLM crooks. Mannatech is also another.
    PLEASE TELL YOUR FAMILY NAD FRIENDS DO NOT ORDER OFF THE TELEVISON.
    THEY WILL SET YOU UP FOR A LIFETIME SUPPLY OF THEIR CRAP AND THEY
    WILL SELL YOUR PRIVATE INFO.  

    Guthy-Renker are LEECHES & SCUM SUCKERS. I wait until I can hear of a
    class action lawsuit. Unethical leaders such as these will serve jail time
    sooner or later.

    If you get nowhere with Guthy Renker, as I have had same issues in the past...cancel your checking account if you used a debit card, and re-open a new one...that way no new charges can post, although you still will have to fight the bills you get so that they don't turn you over to a collection agency...also happened to me, but at least you won't be giving them anymore unauthorized debits from your account, OR fight the charges with your credit card company instead, if you used a regular credit card, and file a dispute with them, usually the credit card companies are good about not allowing anymore charges to go through while they "investigate" and contact the merchant...when this happens, it won't be worth Guthy Renker's time to try to keep charging you...they'll simply move on to the next person they can dupe...THEN, NEVER order through them again...ever!!!

    I have been trying to get Proactive to stop billing me for product I never received! For the past nine months I have been calling and emailing, only to keep getting the run-around from both their customer service AND billing. When I called CS today, I was given nothing but attitude. Like all of this BS is my fault!!! The CS rep was nasty and was talking to me like I a bum on the street. I was told that I would have to PAY the bill or it will be placed on my credit!!! WTF?!!!!

    im sorry you guys are having such poor customer service with proactiv soloution i take calls for them. the offer you see on tv and on the internet is an introductory offer which is to enroll in a club to receive automatic shipments your packaging you get with your first order explains all this. if you order online you have to confirm you want this for the order to even go through. all of our products contain a 60 day mbg if you call us 60 days after we snd you a bill there isnt much we can do. and che there is nothing for you to worry about because our collection agency is an in house collection agency so nothing will go against your credit if you explain the situation to me further i can tell you what your options are.

      i ordred online for 19.99. used the procduct. then i see a charge on my bank acct  taht i didnt authroize.  so i call and teh cust serv rep was extremely rude, didnt speak english and said  i chose the option online to have reocurring   shipments etc. NO. i know for a fact i  chose the other option to opt out of that and i only wanted to try it for 19.99. i was very sure that  i checked the opt out button.  thats what itold the rep.  she said a shipment was coming and too bad nothing she can do she wont refund! she never told me i can  return it  and that i had 60 days . so i never used it but paid for it. i think the face wash is too sandy/gritty for my sensitive skin.  the lotion makes my face red and the toner  i dont care for.  anywas so now i keep gettiung bills. so i call and tell the rep today i paid for the original purchase, i paid for a 2nd purchase that i never authorized dn ow i have a 3rd charge. she tells  the replensihment kit was originally 60 something dollars.  im like im not paying it .  she said i was past the 60 days there is nothing she can do.  first off i chose to opt out form recieving the second package to avoid all this in the very beginning then i suck it up and deal with the 2nd box and now im being charged again some more.  this is obsurd.   what to do. i dont want it on my credit. it took me years to pay off every lil penny of debt i had  and finallyits all cleared out!  i dont want a stupid 39$ charge .  but im not gonna pay for it!

      I take calls for them too, I work for GR and let me tell you this, these customers are not reading the print about the continuity program and unfortunately they are not understanding what the term means and not reading all the legal things that they are seeing in BLACK AND WHITE on their pc or tv screens.  GR has excellent customer service and has strict guidelines and privacy practices in place to protect the customer's personal information.  No customer information is ever shared or sold for financial gain due to being PCI Compliant and we go through a LOT of training to protect our customers.  The money back guarantee is amazing because we stand behind our policy and do all possible to help our customers.  If only people would read before they buy, then there would be a lot less complaints and bad reviews.  Just my two cents.

        All pretty much the same thing.

        You're the ones who chose how you would disclose your terms.  "Disclosing" without your alleged "customer" even realizing they are about to be charged repeatedly is deceptive.

        A contract requires a "meeting of the minds", where both sides agree on what is being agreed to.  That requires that the prospective customer actually know he's about to be charged.   If numerous consumers don't see your "automatic shipment" terms, don't realize they're about to be charged, and you don't rectify that, even at the cost of lost "sales", then your "disclosure" is deceptive on its face.  Your "terms" fail to create a contract.

      I have called and cancelled my account 7 times for the Sheer Cover make up! Never even kept a single box of it bc I hated the product. They kept charging me even when they didn't send anything. I cancelled 3 times before I had to close my whole bank account! Still had to cancel several more times, and each time I call, they have NO record of me ever cancelling even once! I was left alone for the pay couple of months and just in the last few weeks I just got another 2 bills threatening for me to pay my bill (which is somehow now, $80 something.) There has GOT to be a lawyer out there who has a lawsuit going against them. I must find him!
