I dialed this number by accident trying to reach another company.  The gentleman who answered the phone immediately told me I was selected to receive a $500 grocery gift card.  He convinced me that it was free of charge with no obligation.  I gave him my work address and then he asked for a credit card to pay the $6.95 shipping and handling fee.  I told him I did not have one because I sure as hell wasn't going to give him my credit card!  He argued with me and was very rude and that was the end of the conversation.  THIS IS SCAM...DON'T FALL FOR IT!

I also dialed this number by accident trying to reach another company.  I asked if this was CareCredit/GeCapital (I have a dental payment plan with them).  The guy Russell Diaz said yes.  Then he told me that because of the computer gliches the last couple of days at GE Capital/Care Credit I was to receive a $100.00 visa gift card for my inconvenience.  The telephone number for GECapital/Care Credit account is 1866-893-7864.  I mistakenly dialed 1-866-893-7964. He explicitly told me that he was with Care Credit.  I believed him....and then the mess began.....I gave him my Visa number and when I decided to get out of this....it was feeling like a scam....he said that I was locked in.  So now I have to get this Visa card in the mail and figure out how to get out of it. He said that I have 30 days to cancel after I get the mailing.  I'm not sure what to do next.....Does anyone have any ideas?

Call the number on the back of your credit card or your financial instution to report. They can get your card cancelled. You financial institution will issue a new one!! I am going through the same thing.I am going to get a fraud alert issued on our information to avoid having someone apply for credit in name. Good luck!!

A similar experience happened to me today... I intended to call another company to pay my energy bill and mis-typed the phone number.  I called 1-800-752-2111.  I ended up recieving an automated system and pushed 1 without listening to the prompt.  I thought I was talking to an energy company Rep.  She asked me what I would like to do today, and I told her I wanted to pay my bill.  She said that she apologized that the phone system was down, but said that they were offering a $100 voucher to customers since the process would be manual.  She said that the voucher would cost $3.95 for shipping and then they could also help me pay my energy bill.  She asked me for my credit card information and I gave it to her thinking this was both for my voucher and to pay my bill.  I also gave her my name and address.
She forwarded me to her "manager" Don Williams to confirm the voucher.  After talking with him, I discovered that this was a scam and couldn't be the energy company, so I refused to confirm I wanted this voucher and the coupon service they provided.  He told me it was too late, that they had already charged my card and that if I didn't proceed to get a confirmation number I would be charged $19.99 each month and there would be no way to cancel the payment since I didn't have a confirmation number. At one point in the conversation he told me that he can't guarantee that my information is secure (unless I proceed).  I repeatedly refused and was irritated that they were forcing me to sign up by threats. He got hostile and hung up on me.

Call your credit card company and have your card closed and a new one issued.  They will not be able to process any more charges and you can dispute any charges put on your account.  If you have it, please give me the merchant name that appears on your credit card if you are billed.  I'm sure these guys are targeting a lot of customers.  You can alert your credit card company and they will block any authorizations with the company name to help prevent other people from being victims.

      Scammed
I was trying to reach the Wells Fargo Credit Department at 1-800-967-9521 and accidentally dialed 1-800-967-6521. Right away, a machine just said thank you for calling without identifying who they were. It automatically said I won a $100 shopping giftcard and only gave me the option of pressing '1' in order to get the giftcard and talk to a representative. The representative never gave me his name and said I was a lucky caller. I asked him if this was from Wells Fargo and he said yes. He claimed to be from the Wells Fargo Promotion Department. He kept talking on and on, but it was difficult to understand him. After asking him to repeat himself a few times, he got louder and frustrated. He continually passed the phone to other people, but it was difficult to understand them all. They all said I was not required to buy anything and the only thing was that I had to pay $3.95 for shipping and handling. I agreed and they asked me for personal and credit card information. After I gave all of this to them, I asked about more information about this promotion and how long the whole process would take. He kept dodging all of the questions and just repeated everything he had said before. Finally, I became frustrated because I had already been on the phone for 35 minutes and decided to try to cancel the order. He said the credit card had already been charged and it was too late. I had to wait to get the confirmation number in order to later cancel it. He passed me to his "regional manager" to lead me to the verification process. Meanwhile, I called the credit card company for the credit card I had used for this transaction and they said they didn't see any charges yet. The verification process just asked me for the same personal and credit card information they had asked for before. When I didn't want to give it to them again, she got hostile and kept asking why I wasn't giving my information. She ended up hanging up later.

So now I have to wait, monitor my credit card, see if there are any unusual or unauthorized charges, and take it from there.

I found a charge in my checking account for 39.99 with dmgbill.com 8662945781 and another phone number 800-294-5787.  I would never have called this [***] company and given my info over the phone.  I certainly did not authorize this charge. [***] [***] that I got said it was from rewards hotline and I probably called a number.  He hung up when I asked what company he worked for.  Rude!!!

I received a POST CARD in the mail with this phone number only  and a claim # just today(maybe an April fool's scam, lol.) I called it late tonight and, of course a  foreign voice answered. She took my name and asked me to verify my zip code. I asked where she was located she said Virginia. Sounded like a call center in the Phillippines.

She continued with "Now let's get you registered" at which time I asked what company this was and she said Rewards Hotline(I had her spell it to make sure I didn't misunderstand through her accent.) I typed the name on google while she was saying "…let's get you registered" LOW & BEHOLD up comes several "this is a scam" so I simply said "No thanks."

Thank god for google…love that site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
