I was lied to by Royal Holiday last month and signed for a package. I will be returning to the Bahamas in a month to form a complaint with Consumer Affairs that Royal Holiday has violated laws in reference to the local time share/vacation package laws inforced in the Bahamas. Yes there are laws in place to protect us. If you would like to be listed on the complaint I will be filing please email me at christine.blair@insightbb.com
My family and I also bought into this scam. Everytime I tried to book a trip I was told there is no vacancies and now I am waiting to see my points that I did not use in 2012 put into 2013 and possibly make reservations and was told that I need to make my plans and then they would add them into the account.
I am hesitant about paying them their annual fee this year. I might just count my losses and move
on. What do you suggest and how long have you been a member of this club?
These practices go on in all resorts, only they are more aggressive in, Mexico. I do not personally like or trust Royal Holiday, however, we joined RCI and trade our time share through then for other locations and we have returned to the Wyndham, Nassau. This was a good move, we no longer have to deal with RHC. And we have enjoyed our purchase for many yrs.
Our problem now is, we have retired and can no longer use it. There are 10 years left @ $640.00 for a floating week...And, WE CAN'T GIVE IT AWAY!!!
The transfer fee is $700.... a lot less than we paid... Thank God it is not perpetual, our kids would hate us!!
So there is plenty to consider when purchasing a time share and Royal Holiday gives the industry a bad name!
Not one of you has said what really went wrong. Sounds like you spent your money, changed your mind and then wanted it back and had issues getting a refund.
Have any of you actually been on vacation with Royal Holiday? Would love to hear the other side of the story.
Maybe the big difference between all the complaints of the people here and my husband and I was that we DON'T financiated the program, we paid at the moment the package price and they even give us a % off.
Other reality is, the basics package they offer don't fit with the kind of hotels they offer, the 4 and 5 star hotels they have in there portfolio need more than 10,000 for one week.
And the most important reality is it not easy for many people make monthly payments for $450 plus the annual maintenance of $650, hard to accept but it is true. When we decided not to us our points we sale weeks and weekend to our friends, for that sales we make profits that we use for what we want even pay our annual maintenance quote.
I don't want to rest credit to the complaints, but last week when us be there one of Royal Rep approach us and offer us to increase our point, she took us to their office and offer us from water to coffee, from champagne to Blue Label but was our decision to take it or deny.
Truly, they need to change a little bit the persuasive way they use but we need to understand that the Representative that was in front of you DON'T receive a week salary, they only receive commissions from sale.....if they don't sell they don't receive any money.
10 bad experiences does not a bad company make. Has no one ever complained about the company your work for or about the Canadian government that that you plan to report Royal Holiday to.
