Voice on the other end announces itself as Rachel from Card Services, informing me that she is NOT calling me regarding my current credit card, however, to get a competitive low interst card to hit #9 to speak with a representative. Since this is the only way to talk to a LIVE person (questionable there as well), I hit 9 ... when the rep comes on, I inform them that this is a DoNotCall # and could they get me removed from their dialings. They always say the same scripted remark ... "so you are not calling to get information on competitive credit card rates?", and when I say NO, and restate my request, I get a varied # of responses from just hanging up to down right nasty and rude. Many of them just laugh and say, "then why did you dial 9?. Please help!

This is a telemarketer known for routinely violating the Do Not Call law.

Notice how they twisted THEIR calling you to make it sound like YOU had called THEM.

List your phone number on the FTC Do Not Call site, and file complaints if you receive any more calls.

When they call, don't press any numbers and don't hang up. Leave the phone off the hook for as many hours as you can spare. This ties up the line so the machine can't call anyone else and runs their long distance costs through the roof. The longer you are able to tie up their lines, the less likely they are to call you back.

Unfortunately, the FTC Do Not Call List doesn't help. My number has been on the DNC list since its inception and I have verified that it is still on there. I have filed complaints myself in regards to this and it goes nowhere. Robocalls (according to FTC site) are illegal. There has to be some way to stop them. They can trace calls based off of a word said during a conversation but they can't trace the origination of these? I get at least one of these calls a week. If you don't answer the first call of the day, they will call and call and call. Frustrating.

Rachael is driving me to the point of insanity!!!! I get at least 5 calls a week from the robot and this has been going on forever!!! Last week I decided to hit 9. I told them I was on the do not call list and was told that that did not pertain to them. I told them in no uncertain terms to take my number off the list. The responce was someone screaming in my ear
    (NO) and she hung up.
Oh Rachael, you may think you're a tough cookie but your day will come and when it does I hope you end up in a nice padded cell!!!! Have a good day Rachael. It won't be long before you're caught!!

I once called the FBI in Massachusetts about the “Rachael is calling” problem. The person who answered my call/complaint just told me to notify my phone company. The phone company “comcast” doesn’t want to take care of the problem. COMCAST told me to put the number on the “Block Number System” (press * 60).  “Rachael is calling” uses a “Private Caller” configuration, which doesn’t indicate any Phone Number. Now you are in a “catch 22” situation. Those people are PARASITES; or as they say in German: “Schmarotzer der Gesellschaft.”
‘> Interesting note from Carol Shea-Porter, a former Member of Congress, <
Thank you for contacting my office and sharing your concerns about fraudulent telephone numbers. Numbers with a "000" exchange are usually the result of companies or individuals using a program to mask their real telephone number with a "spoofed" Caller ID number.  On April 14, 2010, the House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 1258, the Truth in Caller ID Act.  This legislation will make it illegal for any person to transmit inaccurate Caller ID information through any means.  H.R. 1258 is currently pending action in the Senate.  I will keep your thoughts in mind should further legislation be introduced on this issue.
From what I can tell, the House passed HR 1258: Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010 in April of this year. The bill didn't make it through the Senate, so it did not end up on the President's desk for a signature.

Complaining to the FTC won't help. In dec. 2010 the FTC successfully sued three of these robocalling credit card services companies. The companies say they can't afford to pay the fines. They were in the millions. And now? I'm getting calls from Rachel every day. I'm not exaggerating. My solution? I talk to a live representative and ask enough questions to get them going on their spiel. After they have talked a bit, I quietly announce, "I'm naked". Both males and females seem quite disconcerted.

I have fun with them. Tie them up on the line by asking inane questions and steer the discussion away from their scam. For example, today the person asked me how I was doing. I said that my foot recently been amputated(it wasn’t) but felt like it was still there. The conversation went from there to various other topics. 10 minutes later he said he had to go. I told him to call back anytime and we could talk about prostates.

This b___h, Rachel, and her minion need jail time along with fines. It is hard to believe the FTC walked away because the b______s said they found it inconvenient to desist. What about an injunction and prosecution for contempt for failure to comply? They never call from the same spoofed number but I understand that they have been identified, so, let's have some action -- other than another unwanted call at some especially inconvenient time.

Yet another call today from the notorious Rachel. I pressed 9 (again) to tell a 'representative' (again) to stop calling this number and that what they are doing is illegal.  The woman started screaming at me, "LIAR! YOU ARE A LIAR! LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!"  No joke. Then she hung up. Unfreakinbelievable.  How do we stop this insanity???

I called Rachel's bluff.  I decided to go along with it and was ultimately connected to Sarah.  She had a unique accent, perhaps a little asian or indian.  Anyhow, After she thought I was falling for this cockamamey stuff, I told her she was invading my privacy and then asked if I could speak to her supervisor.  She then told me to "hold please."  I waited about 1 minute and then said "hello" in which she promptly answered, "hold please."  That indicated that she muted her mic but is capable of hearing me.  I waited another minute.  Since nobody took my call I simply hung up.  Nobody called back.  Maybe next time, I'll ride it out and waste their time by asking them lame questions like Ottonon Flea (above comment) did to annoy them while really fishing for a name and number so they can be traced.  Then I'll probably post that info on the internet so everyone can get even!

I have started to say after pressing 9 that I am going to find where they are and place a bomb in their building and hope that their kids are there when it blows up. I have even gone as far as to say, now I know where you are located and will be planting a bomb in their building to kill them all. This is in hopes to get the cops called on me so we all can find out where they are located so as to get them arrested. It saddens me that there are people that work there knowing that they are part of an illeagle intity and show up everyday. Where is the integrity anymore.
