Robotic Dialer keeps calling my DoNotCall #
Complaint
Doug Melton
Country: United States
Voice on the other end announces itself as Rachel from Card Services, informing me that she is NOT calling me regarding my current credit card, however, to get a competitive low interst card to hit #9 to speak with a representative. Since this is the only way to talk to a LIVE person (questionable there as well), I hit 9 ... when the rep comes on, I inform them that this is a DoNotCall # and could they get me removed from their dialings. They always say the same scripted remark ... "so you are not calling to get information on competitive credit card rates?", and when I say NO, and restate my request, I get a varied # of responses from just hanging up to down right nasty and rude. Many of them just laugh and say, "then why did you dial 9?. Please help!

I hate these people. They are the lowest form of life on earth. They are scumbags, and I'm going to make their lives as uncomfortable as possible. Maybe if we all stick together, we can crush them with our numbers.
Re: Case # 12-XXXXXXXXX-X
Thank you for contacting the FCC regarding possible violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and the Commission’s telemarketing and junk fax rules. Information provided in consumer complaints like yours helps the Commission to combat abusive or unlawful practices in these areas, including taking enforcement actions against individuals or companies. In this regard, the Communications Act authorizes the Commission to issue citations and, in some cases, impose substantial fines upon entities that violate telemarketing and junk fax rules.
Although the Commission does not resolve individual complaints, each complaint is individually analyzed and assists us in enforcement actions to protect consumers like yourself. You should be aware that the TCPA also provides for enforcement of the telemarketing and junk fax rules by state attorneys general and by individual consumers. With respect to the latter, the TCPA permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.
We invite you to visit the FCC’s Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau’s Internet web site at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb for more information. You may also call the FCC’s Consumer Center toll free at 1-888-CALL-FCC [1-888-225-5322], TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC [1-888-835-5322].

*I have even been called a "[***]" when stating I was on "the
Do Not Call" list.
*Forget the Do Not Call Agency!
*Whoever set up that "program" had to be incredibly naive
and/or just plain stupid!
*Registering is of no avail!!!
* 1) Why would the DNA think that a telemarketer is going
to bother calling to see who is registered in the first place?
* 2) For a fee of $??? "telemarketer/whoever" can "subscribe"
and "receive a list of those registered with the DNC agency"
--and I presume the "subscriber" would request names within
a geographic location?
* 3) IF anyone/business or otherwise did pay for a list why
would the DNC ASSUME the "subscriber" would check in every
30-days to verify the names on the list?
* 4) AND if anyone/business did "subscribe" and pay -
--what is to say the "subscriber" did not turn around and re-sell
the list to a telemarketer/scammer?
*Why pay when one can use a phone book and set up auto/robo
calls that way?
*DUH-H-H-H-H!!!!!!!!!!!
*I have a small "piercing alarm" and if "live" person does answer -

Let me be very clear; however, take care that you do not file a false report. Do not misrepresent facts.
Simply state the nature of the threat you feel. How does the invasion move you? Do you feel harassed, victimized, terrorized? Do you feel the need to defend yourself?
It is very difficult to challenge feelings. The potential for law enforcement or legal support to rally to your side improves if they can empathize with your position...
Don't waste time filing petty complaints... if you feel victimized, terrorized, threatened, or injured... REPORT THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THE CRIME! FILE REAL COMPLAINTS!

Below is the reply that I made to Ryan Moses in another post:
Mr Moses,
I do not see you listed in my post and you didn't mention if you were connected with any of the companies listed.
The list was obtained from BBB complaints, FTC complaints and website data from people that are researching this growing problem. It is entirely possible that incorrect data is included and I will be more than happy to remove any listings that are incorrect.
Apparently the posting by the person calling themselves DeletedMedia listed your phone number.
You are correct that you are NOT involved with these credit card scams. The robodialers spoofed your phone number and people automatically assumed it was a legitimate number. This is a major problem with the phone companies allowing spoofed numbers across their networks.
I am sorry that this happened to you and hopefully the upcoming FTC actions will put a stop to a majority of these scammers.
Here is the link to one original post, obviously made from someone unknown who’s not happy, and has done quite a lot of research.
