This company is owned by Carl Perkins and Duane Brinson under the name PBH LLC or Perkins Brinson Ho. They created the toolbars discussed here: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=28710 and profited greatly. They may be at it again with this: http://www.performancemediaplacement.com/OnlineDemo.asp

The sales people they currently employ sell a new type of local advertising that has been reported as fraudulent. Here is a post on some of the things they promise: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords ... 79abadae6&hl=en.

Both Perkins and Brinson worked for Search Initiatives (Now Elocal, Elocallistings, Elocalplumbers, etc.) until they were both "let go" for unknown reasons when the company formed Elocal. http://web.archive.org/web/20070621061940/htt ... om/company.html

Do not be fooled by promises of "exclusivity", 24/7 first page placement, unlimited clicks and other false claims. The company has been known to break many contracts and forces employees to lie. If they do not lie to customers they are fired.

Here are just a couple of the many URL's the company uses:
premiumlocallistings.com
performancelocallistings.com
performancemediaplacement.com
pl411.com
pll411.com
pll-orange.com
premierlocallistings.com
g2411.com
nw411.com

Please do your research before doing any business with this company.

    Simple observations...
If being on the first page of Google 24/7 is a necessity for every company these days, why is Performance Media Placement not to be found anywhere? If PMP's claims to be such Google and ROI experts, why do they not use Adwords themselves? Why does the performancemediaplacement.com website show no inbound links on Google? This seems highly suspicious considering PMP considers themselves "experts" in online advertising.

Go figure, when you Google terms like "local online marketing", & "local online advertising" many companies that are Adwords Resellers can be found both organically and in Adwords.

    Thinking of PMP
Is this information true? I got an email and did some research and found this. I only care if this company can perform like it says. No responses make me worried

Is any of this information correct? I have been with this company and would like to know what I signed up for. I am new to online advertising and have paid money for some kind of placement somewhere. Can someone please help me with all this confusion?

    Marianne Quit?
I assume Marianne from PMP quit or was fired. Just another of the never ending list of sales people that depart this company one way or another. Who's next in line to perform reputation management?

    Qualification?
Should I avoid this company? They don't seem to answer relevant questions online or on the phone.

The Company does what they say they do...Period. I'm in my second year with Performance and have never spent any money for marketing with them that didn't come back 10 fold. My Phones RING. And they RING with qualified leads that want what I offer. What else is there? I have referred 8 people to them and every one of them are having similar results as me. I heard about the "disgruntled" employee who once worked for Performance, who got fired  because he was not dependable - my rep and I have become friends - and I pray for him - that he gets a life. If he would have been as diligent working at Performance as he is blogging negatives about his former company, I'm sure he would have been successful. He needs to repent, turn and ask forgiveness. God will forgive him if he asks for it. I will stay with Performance and Google as long as I see positive results - and I don't see anything else but Positive!

I am seeing similar results for my business as well. I am so thankful to PMP for how everything is going. I couldn't be happier. I just wish I would have known about them 12 years ago...I have wasted so much money on marketing that didn't work. Then I received an email that said they have some prospective clients in my area. I called them - they didn't call me. I talked to a gentlemen who didn't sell me - it was almost like he didn't want me to do this . Then I found out that they only work for one company per city and that my qualifying for the position offered was exclusive. I pounced on the offer and have never looked back. It's been 3 years and I AM A HAPPY CAMPER and will refer everyone who needs this to my rep - He's paid me $50 three different times for those referrals that signed up with him. Google is awesome and PMP put me in a place that helps me make money continuously.

And the Shills are back for PMP!
These "reviews" are hilarious.  I love yours best Roberto.  An excerpt: "Then I received an email that said they have some prospective clients in my area."

Yeah, they send illegal unsolicited spam to their unwitting victims before they mark up the Google Adwords clicks 500% and rip off their "clients".  Of course, the illegal email didn't mention Google marketing because it was intended to be deceptive.  The truth is they had zero clients for you and that they resell Google Adwords at a mark up that is likely the highest in industry.  But of course you are "so thankful", "a happy camper", and you "pounced on the offer".  Yeah, after being deceived with illegal SPAM, and then ripped off completely, I'm sure you are "happy camper".

Obviously, you are a desperate rep working for this sad excuse for a marketing company.  It might be time to move on and get a real job.

    Questions
How can you have been with PMP for two years when PMP hasn't even been around that long? http://whois.domaintools.com/performancemediaplacement.com. Are you confused about what company you singed up with?

If you are a customer, did they illegally bait you with compensation to post a positive review? Has PMP given you the "first page 24/7, unlimited click, unlimited keyword NO CONTRACT guarantee" in writing?

    3 years?
This is obviously a lie, the company URL is not even 2 years, how can you have signed up before the company even existed? Don't get your hopes up for that "exclusivity" they promise. Read your contract carefully, they can sell to as many of your competitors as they wish on what they call a "budgeted order". I don't even want to get started on how they illegally share customers private information between companies.

    Complaints
Now I am convinced a single employee can not be responsible for all of these posts. There are too many and some go back years! Look at this thread from 2004: http://forums.seochat.com/seo-professionals-57/seo-scam-10917.html. This sounds eerily familiar to the current complaints people are having with PMP.

There is no doubt PMP has ties with iGetNet because Carl Perkins, CEO of PMP & co-owner of PERKINS, BRINSON, HO, LLC (aka PBH LLC) was the CIO of iGetNet as listed here:
    http://www.thefreelibrary.com/IGetNet+Helps+i ... d...-a095570879
    http://www.marketvisual.com/d/b81eeb4a-3795-4aad-9f00-b2f86fe6f056/iGetNet

Now just for fun Google iGetNet or follow this link to the same search results: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=igetnet. I guess infecting their customers with spyware and adware is their way of thanking them for their money :)

I wonder how many more companies accused of fraud are tied to the owners of PMP that have changed names continuously and eventually disappear.

    iGetNet repeat?
This is interesting. Look at the executives at iGetNet on their old website:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20040607002950/htt ... outProfiles.asp

It looks like Todd Johnson (http://elocallisting.com/vp_directorbios.html) and Carl Perkins walk hand in hand in the types of businesses they churn and burn. Elocal and PMP seemingly have split the staff from Search Initiatives (now Elocal) yet operate as "competition" but still work out of the same office. This seems highly suspicious considering the offers from both company are almost identical and are around the same price. One company works as the rival bad company and the other appears to be the legit company. I am sure it would be easy to ask every client if they have been a customer of both Elocal and PMP, PLL, PBH LLC, and whatever other company names are used to cover their tracks.

Admitted spammers in their own business plan:

    Don't buy Adwords!
Sign up for PBH LLC's get rich quick pyramid scheme! This program has been around since 2003 and is still going strong! Sign up with one of the many "resellers" or "affiliates" if you feel you can trust this company to make you any money!

Just develop a spamming service similar to iGetNet that pushes plugins like these to get spyware and adware on peoples computers to push more unwanted annoying popup advertising.

    Chargeback
The only way you'll every see your money back from these con artists is by doing a chargeback with your credit card company.  Claim "fraud" - which it is when you let these clowns charge your credit card.  I was able to get my money back that way after they failed to deliver as promised.  If only I had read this blog prior to paying these morons.
