This company is owned by Carl Perkins and Duane Brinson under the name PBH LLC or Perkins Brinson Ho. They created the toolbars discussed here: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=28710 and profited greatly. They may be at it again with this: http://www.performancemediaplacement.com/OnlineDemo.asp

The sales people they currently employ sell a new type of local advertising that has been reported as fraudulent. Here is a post on some of the things they promise: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords ... 79abadae6&hl=en.

Both Perkins and Brinson worked for Search Initiatives (Now Elocal, Elocallistings, Elocalplumbers, etc.) until they were both "let go" for unknown reasons when the company formed Elocal. http://web.archive.org/web/20070621061940/htt ... om/company.html

Do not be fooled by promises of "exclusivity", 24/7 first page placement, unlimited clicks and other false claims. The company has been known to break many contracts and forces employees to lie. If they do not lie to customers they are fired.

    Performance Media Placement burns through more company names and URLs than Michael Markman burns through fake names and email addresses. Thank you insiders for helping us keep up with the many URL changes this company attempts to use and burn!

    PBH LLC is in Hiding
    Yep, note that this "internet marketing company" is not only changing their name quickly when they feel the heat from the customer complaints, but they also intentionally hide their web sites from Google so they can hide their promotional web sites.  The directinternetplacement.com site and directlocalsolutions.com but are being hidden from Google with by blocking Google from spidering their web site.  

    That is why when you type in "Direct Internet Placement" or "Direct Local Solutions", these guys are no where to be found.  The only way to find their web site listed on Google is by typing in "directinernetplacment.com" (the full, exact URL.  

    Amazingly, some people still buy from a company that claims to do Google marketing but hides their web sites from Google rather than promote their own web site.  Every legitimate Google Marketing company does not hide their site from Google.  They actually promote themselves on Google.  If you owned a legitimate marketing company, wouldn't you promote yourself?

    Someone is doing a good job tracking these new names down.  Keep it up and maybe you can save more unsuspecting business owners from their con job.

    As you can see this company is hiding it's new domains from every search engine on the planet. These new domains are not indexed by Google, Yahoo, MSN or any other service that provides search, nor do they want the sites to be stored in archive.org for obvious reasons. Why all the hiding Carl, Duane and Mikey boy? I thought you only needed to market under Performance Media Placement SCAM! Reach Local has hundreds of resellers and they don't have to use different URL's or company names. What gives? Is the FTC that hot on your trail you need to run and hide in the shadows using domain and company names you are too scared to promote publicly? Please, enlighten us on why your sales people perform better SEO on your websites through posting all these URLs on complaint sites and actually get top ranking.

    I have found a huge lie told by this company (unless they can provide proof otherwise).

    PLL or what is now know as PMP is a fraud(changing name and addresses is a bad sign). I used them for a campaign and they not only used completely irrelevant keywords that were not a part of my requested campaign but they also did not even have me placed on the front page ever in the two months they were contracted. They stole $2,698.00 from me and I am in the process of suing them in small claims court to get my money back. This type of fraudulent internet marketing company is a dime a dozen these days and they cannot be trusted. I receive several calls everyday with the same promises and they all request payment in advance. The companies I have worked with since PLL also promised me front page on Google but never even called me back after I wrote the exact keywords I wanted on the contract.The lesson here is go directly through Google and don't get ripped off.

    To OC, CA Bussiness:

    Would your lawyer consider handling a class action suit against this company? There are many other businesses that have been burned the same way and it only takes 3 clients to start a class action suit. The more complaints the better chance of a return of what they would call "your investment". If you or your attorney would like to know how to get a hold of their current and previous clients for this suit, please respond with an email and I will show you how to legally obtain this information. It does not have to be a business or personal email you regularly use, just get a gmail or similar account you can trash after. I can also provide tips on helping you with your case.

    Carl and Duane receive every single email that processes through their PBH LLC servers. They get every sales, suppport, etc email that is sent to anyone with an @performancemediaplacement.com, @performancelocallistings, @premiumlocallistings.com, etc email. They have access to every email they may not get as well as they keylog every computer in their offices. There is no excuse why they did not respond to these emails. Are you sure Wayne used his real name?     Did this company lose its qualification? This is what I get when I click the Certified Partner logo on the site:

    The profile of this Company is not currently available, either because they are not currently qualified, they have disabled their profile, or the profile does not exist.

    Revoked!?!?
    I assume their qualification was revoked because they rely so heavily on it to make sales. They have a page talking about "whos legit" describing the qualification they can no longer prove they have.

    According to PMP's "Who's Legit" page, http://www.performancemediaplacement.com/Legitimate.asp, "You can find the Professional Status page by clicking on the AdWords Qualified individual or Company logo that is visible from the individual's or company's website. If you don't find it there, simply ask your professional for the link to the page." So Performance Media Placement, where is the link to your certification, or are you just "yanking my chain"
