I feel responsible posting on this thread because I think most people who spoke here focused too much on the negative side of the company.
Working for Allsec Tech is not exactly a piece of cake, but as far as my experiences are concerned, it is not completely as bad as people made it out. I will try and be objective about it. Here are the things that I like about the company:
1. Pay is ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS, a day ahead of the payday (for example, if payday is Wednesday, which, let us suppose, is either the 15th or 30th of the month, the pay is available already on Tuesday which is just the 14th or the 29th. Mind you, sometimes it is even earlier. (Thanks a bunch HR! *-*)*wink *wink
2. They have established the TRIP (this is an organization aiming to increase the happiness quotient of employees through different activities that will foster both fun and enjoyment). Sure, some people might argue, there are more pressing matters that need to be addressed than having a fun club. But I see the TRIP's establishment as the upper management's acknowledgment and acceptance that employees are not very happy. It is very commendable to find a company who acknowledges their losses and does something to prevent them, regardless of how small a move establishing TRIP may seem. Of course, it seems to trivial for many. Still, they did something, and they are trying. Effort is valuable.
So for Allsec's need areas:
1. Setting the right expectations. You see the problem was the people who set the wrong expectations are not the people from Allsec. They were the people who were there even before Allsec took charge. So basically, Allsec was the scapegoat. I am not from the pioneer batch but I was there during the transition. The changes saddened me and to some extent angered me not because I don't want any changes to take place; it was because we were told no changes will happen. I also blame myself though, 'cause I was too gullible that there'd be really no changes.
2. Providing the right tools. Again, this is a universal problem not only of Allsec but also of other companies. Most of the time, we are short-staffed. Some of the employees (and I once felt that way) felt that they are overworked, and yes, underpaid. So I think, this is something that Allsec should address. When someone leaves, he has to be replaced to avoid putting the strain on the people left behind. Because those who are left behind will be encouraged to leave too, if they're too overworked. And speaking of tools, the web department lacked some soft wares that they need so it's another source of issue from the people there.
So having said all these, I want to say that I don't personally hold grudge against Allsec. I can say this maybe because I was very privileged in that company. I got a good pay, I was given opportunities (but that's not exactly striking 'cause most of the opportunities I grabbed are available to others too, for example, being a TRIP member). Sure there was no pay raise (that's too bad as well) but it won't be forever. As Sir Wil puts it, Allsec is going through birth pains even though some might think that the labor is too long it should already be in Caesarian section. Lack of pay raises will not be forever, and so is not setting the right expectations, I hope.
At the end of the day, I am one of those who think of Allsec with a smile on my lips and a light heart; because whether I am ready to admit it or not, I found something respectable about the place, about the company. I was able to find something I can appreciate about the company.
I loved the people I worked with, even those in the upper management area (especially Sir Wil 'cause he listened to employee concerns most of the time and have tried to help on many accounts); I have cherished healthy working and personal relationships with my colleagues. Allsec may not have provided or set the right expectations all the time, but they have given me a place, an avenue to meet the most wonderful people whose friendships I have cherished and considered lifelong.
My experiences with Allsec have taught me so much, and it is for this reason that I could never be nor (if ever) stay mad at the company. The life lessons I have learned there shaped the Denise typing this hopefully honest, and from-the-heart post.

ako po ay isa sa mga pioneer ng KBI nung ito ay naguumpisa plamang medyo ok nman po ang smahan namin pagdating sa increase, medical, appraisal etc...and ung bonding namin is like a brotherhood and sisterhood even with our big bosses..

ngunit ng simula po ng ito ay mbili ng ALLSECTECH na pnamumunuan ng mga bumbay eh d2 na po nagsimula ang mga ndi kanais nais na mga pangyayari na pwede nating maisumbong sa IMBESTIGADOR, XXX, DOLE at maging kay tulfo, sapagkat marami po clang ndi naibigay na mga pangako tulad ng increase, good employers at naranasan din po nmin na kalahati lang ung sahod namin..ndi nman po kme naghahabol sa pera nila ang sa akin lang po eh "binibigay po namin ung para sa kanila so ibigay din po nman nila ung para sa mga empleyado"..yan pong salitang yan eh natutunan q sa boss q sa KBI.
pagkatapos din pong mabili ng allsectech ang KBI eh wala pa pong isang taon naubos po lahat ng mga pioneers(30persons...) at ang ibang empleyado lalo nasa web department kung saan etong department na ito ang nagumpisa ng lahat at kung saan din po eh cla po ang nag umpisa at nagpalaki sa KBI/allsec..sabhin na po nating tama ang sabi ng allsec na "BIRTH PAINS kung bket nangyayari ang mga eto" pero ndi nman po yata tama na magiisang taon na eh birth pains pa rin na mga empleyado po ang naghihirap.
nawala na po ang saya namin nung pmasok ang allsec, uu nga po na sa bawat pag asenso ang lahat eh me pagbabago..pero ang pagbabago po ng allsec ay ndi para sa mga employee nila kundi para sa sarili lamng po nila.
naghigpit po ng policy ang allsec bawal pong ipasok sa floor ang mga gadgets, bags at mga personal things na pagaari ng empleyado nila..naiintindhan q po cla dun kaso nga lang eh para po bang SOBRANG LAKI ng pnapasahod nila para maghigpit at takutin ang mga empleyado ng ganun na lamang..
at me nangyari pa po na ka meting po namin ang bossing naming bumbay
at me nagtanung po yata na isang empleyado na kung bat ang daming nag reresign ang sagot po ng boss eh ganito ang pagkakaintindi sa tagalog "wala akong pkialam kung mag resign lahat cla jn, madami nmang naghahanap at nangangailangan ng trabaho jn eh" tama po ung sabi ng bumbay pero ang sa amin lang po eh dapat alagaan nila ung mga empleyado nila.kc dun pa lang po sa salitang un eh sarili na po nila ung iniisip nila.

Anyway, about the apprisal evaluation raise stuff, it think their call center department has one. The other is as close as nil.
Expectation? I certainly remember saying that there is going to a library in the office full of IT books and stuff.
Right tools? For god sake there was one time that we had a new pc to replace the old ones we are using. Guess what, we didn't use it until we got fed up and installed everything we need in the new pc.
Good employers? I remember someone working from 9pm (evening) to 4pm (afternoon) because of overtime. because of this, the person's health deteriorated and have to make a bit of absences. The bald boss of ours talked to that person asking an explanation why that person is always late.
Hmmm... what else. Oh yeah, they pay matches the provincial rate, even if they are in the capital.
Good luck with your job there.
Oh yeah, I got job that pays 20% more here in the province than in the capital. Better check the ads again.
