I ordered two converter boxes on a Wednesday and my credit card was charged the day after the order was placed.  On Tuesday of the following week I still did not receive a shipment confirmation email.  Logically I emailed them but I never received a reply.  So I started to call constantly for two days but I was always but on hold and then told that no representative is available to take my call.  I also left messages.  My order still didn't arrive.  I don't know if it has been sent. I emailed them again but I'm still waiting for a reply.

A lot sounds familiar. A few days after ordering there was no confirmation the 2 units I ordered had been sent. I called and did speak to a lady. She put me on hold, then came back and said the units would be sent out later this week. Later has come and gone, still no confirmation. I have been watching my card charges through the bank, it is not showing a charge against it for this YET! But if it doesn't work out, I'm out of luck on the coupons I'm sure.

Guess I should have looked up customer complaints about DigitalStar.com before I purchased a Tivax STB T8 AP TV Converter Box from them. The unit is defective. Just like other customers, my repeated calls are picked up by voice mail and I've yet to get any response from them.

These guys are scum!  They have stolen almost $300 from me.  Will not respond for months now.  Does anyone have their phone number since they (of course) don't list it on their site?

Have filed complaints against Digitalstar.com with USPS Postal Inspectors, the FTC, and the Illinois Attorney General.

These people are Dirt Bags and Criminals!

I ordered the DTVpal DVR. They charged my credit card immediately, but after a couple of weeks, (when the item never showed up) i emailed them and asked when I would receive the item. They stated that the item was on back-order and I would get it on October 15th. Since then, they will not respond to my emails or calls. They are definitely a scam web-site. Buyer beware.

Also, I used Paypal to purchase the item and was required to wait a significant amount waiting for the company to respond) The company never would respond, and now Paypal will not refund my money because they say the company does not have the funds. I used Paypal because I thought it gave me added security; not planning on ever using Paypal again either.

I have the exact same situation.  Pay Pal found in my favor, but they say they can not get the money back!!

You should also file complaints with the above agencies.  Let's get the word out on these jerks!

I also fell for their scam with the DTVpal DVR. I was able to recover my money through my credit card's fraud protection. I still plan to file complaints aginst Digitalstar.com with any agency that will take one.

I reported them to the Better Business, but have not heard anything since. I am disappointed with PayPal almost as much as I am with the company. I thought PayPal researched the companies and was there to protect the consumers purchase, but apparently not. I used my credit card, but because I went through PayPal, my claim needs to be processed against PayPal. To bad they can't close down this site before more people get scammed. My opinion is PayPal should have an obligation to have the company closed and not just take their PayPal option away.

I also ordered a DTVPal DVR and they charged my credit card and never sent the product. They won't answer my emails or respond to the PAYpal notice to cancel and refund  the payment.
    Thank You

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE !! I ordered a DTVpal Dvr on Sept 2009. Keep getting backordered run around. After 2 months I tried to cancel the order and get my money back. No response. Unfortunately I paid for it thru PAYPAL another mistake . Paypal will not do anything if the transaction is more then 45 days old. So I am out $260. How these scum can keep a website going is beyond me. IF YOU USE PAYPAL MAKE SURE IT IS CHARGED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD . THAT WAY YOU HAVE A RECOURSE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK THRU THE CC COMPANY.

Can someone give me a phone number for Digitalstar, I ordered something from them several days ago and have been trying to cancel the order.  There is a non-existing link they refer to on the webpace to cancel an order.  I have emailed about ten times with no response whatsoever.  I understood that the item was backordered.  Their phone number is not listed on their website.

    Thanks,
    Donna

You are out of luck with DigitalStar. The BBB and Attorney General will be of no help as DigitalStar simply refuses to answer and nothing further is done unless you want to hire an attorney. Why our tax dollars are spent on agencies that won't shut this outfit down is extremely frustrating.

I got a charge on my debit card today January 28 . Never ordered from them. I never heard of them. I reported the fraud to the bank. The bank will not accept the charge. However my debit card is compromised, so I had to cancel it and I am now waiting for a new one. Who are they? How would they have my debit card info? Very Frustrating.

I also had a fraudulent charge to my credit card from digital star on jan 28.  There are probably many others who won't find out about it until they get their monthly bill.  This is why it's important to set up email or text alerts to your account so you're informed immediately of foreign charges, which I was.

A preauthorization for $74.95 from Digital Star with a bad phone number (208-123-7377) showed up on my debit card account 1/29/12.  Called bank fraud department and had the account killed immediately.  They stopped the charge since it had not completed.  Do not know who Digital Star is or what the charge was for.  I use the card for online purchases mainly through Amazon.  No purchases in the last 30 days.  However, I placed orders in the last 60 days from a company called Turncraft (woodworking plans), Personal Creations, and Entirely Pets. I wonder what companies others above have used recently. It would be nice to narrow it down to a source.
