I ordered two converter boxes on a Wednesday and my credit card was charged the day after the order was placed.  On Tuesday of the following week I still did not receive a shipment confirmation email.  Logically I emailed them but I never received a reply.  So I started to call constantly for two days but I was always but on hold and then told that no representative is available to take my call.  I also left messages.  My order still didn't arrive.  I don't know if it has been sent. I emailed them again but I'm still waiting for a reply.

My fiance' just had the same thing happen yesterday 1/30/12.  Since they all appear to be debit cards, I wonder if the bank's system was hacked!  I did do some banking on line yesterday so if any of you were too when it happened then maybe that's how they are doing it.  Either way seems to be a bank, not a store, security issue.

Just happened to us too. 74.95. Canceled the card and filed a dispute! Glad we keep an eye on our Bank Account. was posted on our account on 1/27/2011. Dont know if there is a pattern, but our Bank is Associated Bank.

Same thing to me.  BofA called to verify the charge and canceled my card. I very rarely use the debit card for online purchases, but did recently through Paypal.  Perhaps Paypal is the one who got hacked.

we have been ripped as well. How can you setup an alert for your debit card. We were told it's not possible since it's not a credit card.

Your bank should have a block or protection you can sign up for, we had to do the same thing because we had a charge from digital star as well.

The banks protect their own money better than they do yours.
Consumers are better protected by the fedeeral protections on credit cards than debit cards.

It's safer to cancel and block all debit cards, and use only credit cards for online or retail purchases.

You dispute the charges through your bank as FRAUDULENT, and block the card number immediately to prevent additional fraud.  The "digital star" crooks are starting to recharge earlier charged card numbers.

You can dispute debit card and other EFT charges under FRB Reg. E, and credit card charges under FCBA.  Follow up with a written dispute or fraud affidavit sent to your bank's dispute address or fraud department, mailed certified to document your timely dispute to invoke your FRB Reg. E or FCBA dispute rights.

If it is charged to a debit card, do NOT replace the debit card.

Get a PIN protected ATM card if you must, but use only credit cards for online or retail purchases, since the federal protections are stronger.

This type of scam is more of a hassle when fraudulently charging debit cards since it takes money right out of your checking account.

Found a $74.95US charge on my credit card today. Notified the cc company and they indicated that they had two calls today about the same Digital Star company. They will cancel the charge and issue me a new card.

I was charged on my debit card and hadn't ordered anything. In other words, my number was hacked into by some sharpie with you guys. Over $75.00
maybe I should turn this firm in to the fraud link.
