On Feb 13, 2008 I was charged on my Visa Credit Card $29.95 and the telephone number is 888-999-0564 CT. I did not authorize this and I am therefore filing a complainst against them as a Scam.

Same thing here ever since 2007.  They are very bad people based on my conversation with them.

That totally is a SCAM! I got charged on my card too! Restaurant.com does not indicate I would automatically become a member (and will have to pay for it) by signing up and purchasing a one time use coupon at all! I am sure there are a lot of people who got scammed without realizing it as the charge is small ($14.95)! Stay away!

I just noticed a charged from Ap9*shoppingessential+ 888-999-0564 Ct for $14.95! I haven't purchase anything from Restaurant.com recently..which is weird. I guess I will have to cancel my account. Lucky there's a phone number on the statement!

I just noticed the charge on my account today, I had charges from 5/27/2008 all the way to 01/20/2009. My card has been charged 9 times, 9 times! I called my card company and they advised me of the companies number and recommended that I call them first to try to get the charges reversed. I called and the first person I talked to said that they would only refund one month, then immediately forwarded me to a supervisor. I made sure that the supervisor knew that I was NOT happy, kept a calm voice but explained under no uncertain terms that my card was charged fraudulently and that I wanted all of my money refunded IN FULL. He agreed and told me that the money would be refunded in 2 business days.

This IS a scam and I was gotten by vitacost.com

Sadly- It is not Restaurant.com -
When you take an extra gift card - IT DOES say at the bottom that you will be enrolled.

The scam part is that you never get enrollment info in the mail-so you have no idea how to cancel it!

    I got suckered into it,
I talked to Joy today emply # 151880
She said I will see the refund in 2 business days and will no longer be charged. We'll see.

After calling the "company" and letting them know that I'd be fighting them they did finally agree to refund the money back to my card. I received my money back on my card about 3-4 days later.

Needless to say I will be watching my statements like a hawk from now on.

similarly, someone comes to our house and promotion the seafood, and we bought a box of seafood.  They manually write down our credit card information.  they also record down our address, cell phone number, email and credit card the 3 digit security code.  After a week, this shoppingessential additioally charges us by faunt, $14.95.  we suspect the sales sell our information and use our visa card information without our notice.

This happened to me too.  AP9 Shopping Essentials is not a real business -- I have checked with the Better Business Bureau.  In my case, I blame NorthStyle Catalog.

I noticed a 19.95 charge on my Jan 2009 credit card so they are still active, there was another charge in February but I have not received that bill yet, AMX was great, they got Employee #49497 (probably the only employee)on the phone and had my account cancelled and didputed the charges that will come off my AMX bill. The small print on the vitimines I ordered must have said I was applying for an account with these bandits Ap9 Shoppingessentia AMX said that cancelling or changing the card would not help but keep track of charges on it,

I too just noticed 4 charges of $14.95 from Shopping Essentials.  I called the 877-442-5773 number and got in right away.  She promised to refund all my money and cancel any further charges with no argument.  I used restaurants.com about a week before the first charge appeared.  Won't  be using them again.

Shopping Essentials got me too - and so acted like it was my fault when the bank and I called them on the phone.  Really ticked me off.  I'm only out $24 but something has to be don't about this "company".

My credit was charged $11.95 by Shopping Essentials.  I reported the charge to my bank, it was registered as fraudulent use of my card, and sent to the fraud department for investigation.  My fraudulent charges were removed, the credit score companies were notified of the fraud, and I'll soon have a new card.
When I called the number connected with Shopping Essentials, I got a woman who sounded as though she'd been drinking or had had a stroke.  She wanted my email address.  I was not about to give it to such a shady character.
If you are scammed, contact you card bank immediately.

I just check my bank statement and found out a 14.95 charged on my account 3/17/09. I immediate call my credit card customer service and get transfer to dispute department. I told her that I did not authorize any transaction from shopping essentials. She was adviced me to call the toll number on my statement to talk with them first. I just tell her that I don't know who they are and how they got my infomation. She said she will get personal representative of the toll free number 1-888-999-0564 on the phone for me to speak with. I spoke with Ken at shopping essentials and told her that I did not authorize any transaction. Ken told me that I brought gift cert. from Restaurant.com and will automaticaly sign up for SE. After 30, if I don't cancel my membership I will get charge. I just told her that there is nothing stating that Restaurant.com with sign me up with SE and I want my refund and cancel my membership. She said that she will cancel my membership and refund my money in 2 to 3 bussiness day. After that, I talk with my credit rep. again and she said that they have record it and will follow up with that... Good luck to anyone else who get trick in to this.

I have charges from them on my credit card for $14.95 and $44.95. I have of course disputed the charge. What baffles me is that this is not the first credit card this has happened to. I canceled the last one because of charges from this source and have been much more careful since then. Anyhow, as others have said dispute the charge immediately and order a new card.
